    I originally wanted to record this all in one take, but then got reminded not to take things too seriously considering I'm not really in a phase of my life anymore where I can afford the luxury of spending hours upon hours reloading checkpoints to prove to myself that I'm "good enough" at a game that, at the end of the day, doesn't care too much about movement, freedom or control. Anyway, I hope you'll be able to find some value in watching these fragments of flow, even if they're a bit edited this time. Safety and peace be upon you

    What a great run and an absolute insane amount of ejects you pulled through with so damn well! They're unironically satisfying to look at and i really enjoyed the routing, especially when ejects unlocked an indispensable optimization. Great work homie

    Maaan, every time I see a mirage clip I get a deep pain because the game could have been THE BEST AC game, but Ubisoft incredibly disappointed with unimaginable failure. I even shed a tear while writing it 😢

    • @Broox38
      @Broox38  7 месяцев назад

      My main issue I have with Mirage, apart from minor gameplay wishes, is probably it's poor writing and presentation, especially cutscene performances. That plus it's lack of any modern day made me realise relatively quickly that Mirage wouldn't be able to reach my ideal ac game in any way, but given what Bordeaux was working with it continues to impress me how on the gameplay side of things they managed to create what could potentially be my favourite stealth system in the entire series. Maybe not the absolute best but in my opinion the most consistent and replayable fun since the Ezio games. I can't believe I'm already starting to feel a little bit nostalgic for Mirage's launch sometimes. Due to all the negative experiences I was subjected to by Ubi in the past I never would have allowed myself to expect Mirage to earn such a special place in my heart, for that I owe my deep respect to the team at Bordeaux and I am super excited to see them sharing their work on their new ac game, presumably with more creative and financial freedom this time, considering Mirage's surprising success. Thanks for watching, I'm happy to read you're also finding meaning in this game.

      How Ubisoft feels after seeing Skull and Bones and Assassin's Creed Syndicate do badly and suck in comparison to Montreal's, Rosia's and Bordeaux's games. "Hmm, Singapore and Quebec will make the Assassin's Creed games ever!"

    Mirage's parkour is more enjoyable imo than Unity and ezio games, it all comes back to world design and Baghdad is perfectly made for parkour, kinda like Havana in AC4 you can literally waste hours parkouring and still not get bored

    • @Broox38
      @Broox38  8 месяцев назад +1

      Interesting take, I definitely prefer it over Unity -- both in terms of level design and functionality/less input lag -- but despite enjoying movement in Mirage more than the majority of (old school) players I personally wouldn't put it over the Ezio games, simply due to wallejects being a lot less strict in the classics, allowing you to cancel them to gain height at virtually any point during the animation and not just at the end of it, as seen in Mirage. But even without that level of freedom and control, Mirage managed to impress me with it's movement and I certainly didn't expect to invest that much time into a modern Ubisoft's parkour system.

    • @Broox38
      @Broox38  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yup, you can really feel that this game wasn't designed with a primary focus on freedom and control, so even when relatively good ejects were added as a literal afterthought they feel, well, a bit out of place

    • @Broox38
      @Broox38  8 месяцев назад +1

      For me it was mostly a matter of getting used to precise, sometimes unintuitive angles and timing, meaning a lot of experience and learning through mistakes from different contexts and situations allowing me to now predict how Basim will behave after certain button presses with sufficiently satisfying success. This was recorded after having already played for 140+ hours
