About 10 years ago, I rode around in Arizona and there is a good little Mexican restaurant in Globe called Chalos, no idea if it was still there, but it was good and it was cheap. At another place up on top of Granite Mtn, and finally at a steakhouse out there, and I had prickly, pear, cactus fries, and rattlesnake....good stuff.
I was in Florence, AZ for the month of January. Got 1,800 miles in on the Harley and enjoyed the Bush Highway, Apache Trail and Tortilla Flats! Awesome experience!
I go up past Tortilla Flat all the time on my motorcycle; the best part of the road for motorcycles is past the Saloon because of lower traffic, at least on weekdays. Now you’ve given me a reason to stop and go inside; a prickly pear gelato sounds like the best thing for lunch. Locals should buy a year-long Tonto Pass to enjoy the picnic areas and lakeside tables at Acacia or Boulder recreation sites on Canyon Lake. You get both a hangtag pass for your car and a motorcycle sticker if you bring your motorcycle registration into the ranger station when you buy the pass. Thanks for the video!
We did exactly what you said a few years ago. Went to visit friends in Mesa and rented some Harleys. It was during Arizona Bike Week and the riding was fantastic. Had a blast and made many great memories. Went to Superstition Saloon and some place that was like a western town. Did a lot of miles and loved everyone of them. Definitely not the riding this New York State couple are used to. Thanks for rekindling some memories. Another great job Staci.
What a fantastic little trip! Thanks for taking us along for the ride! I actually have never ridden through Tortilla Flats and have now dropped a new pin for places to ride on my Google map! Thank you so much! Great little video series!
A fun little trip and one I need to remember the next time I'm in PHX! I just did a little overnight camping trip this past weekend on my m/c. Watching my favorite RUclipsr's inspires me to get get out of my norm and venture off into uncharted territories. Thanks for taking us along, Staci! Cheers!
My Grandmother used to make prickly pear jam. It was delicious. I was trucking in So Cal during that wet Pineapple Express storm. You’re right, some terrible drivers for sure. Glad you got through it safely. Great video as always!!! 👍

I camped in Arizona for the first time this year. It was a wonderful November night. The low was about 42 and the high for the day in the 70's. I would love to have a place there to spend the shoulder season.
Thanks for the great video and happy you made it safely through the storm. Will certainly add Tortilla Flats as one of my "Must See's!!" while traveling towards Nevada. 3 more days & I'll be on the bike heading south to Daytona.
Been to this area several times for work - I’ve got a dollar bill on the wall there somewhere. I think my favorite thing to do was horseback riding on the trails. Really liking how that green looks in your videos - need to go see it in person.
We flew down to Phoenix three weeks ago to escape the Canadian winter. Tortilla Flats, Florence, Tombstone. It only rains a few times a year and we were there for it. And it was only 45F. Still better than snow and 25F. 😂
Great video! You never cease to amaze me with your videography! Great scenery wonderfully captured! On top of that you have a great presentation of interesting information and awesome food! I really need to get up to that area and ride! Thanks for another great ride!
What a fantasstic video! As I grow my channel I'm really looking up to you, Just G Kue, and Full Throttle Hog. I'd really love to ride out there one day. Glad you made it through the storm and back home, safe and sound. The new H-D Road Glide is super sharp! Very well done!
I spent 26 years living in Apache Junction. I drove the Apache Trail from AJ to Roosevelt so many times I could do it blind folded! My all time favorite is Fish Creek Hill Lookout. Go there at midnight and you can see every star in the galaxy! Now that I ride, I'll be heading back to AZ to ride all those familiar curves again one day. Thank you for this beautiful content.
That was so inviting especially seeing it is 42 here in SE PA. Glad you made it safe back to LA. That was a beautiful ride tortilla Flat. Thanks for sharing
Great images! I'm almost reluctant to share this but the remainder of the paved section past Tortilla Flat to Fish Creek overlook is typically amazing as well. You may even see Big Horn Sheep from there. That is where the (still closed from rock slide) dirt section begins. I heard work may begin to reopen the dirt road to Roosevelt Dam. This section I imagine could be considered world class. It's been years since it's been open! I've bicycled the section and it was like life changing. The General Store also usually has a good selection of craft sodas I believe. I love the Butterscotch. There is a river boat cruise (Dolly River Boat) on Canyon Lake right there too........definitely not to miss area if around PHX :)
Fascinating that the paved more of it! I didnt even realize Last time I went past tortilla flat, I don’t believe any of it was paved past the water crossing. It’s been nearly 10 years though!
Those looked like some fun roads and some great food. I love cheesecake ice-cream too, and I like to add fresh bananas to mine. Its a place called cold stone. Love the video and now I need to ride and get food...!😊
Absolutely love Arizona, I was stationed there in the early 80s, my middle daughter was born in Tucson, I want to come back there to ride my 24 RoadGlide so bad! sure have enjoyed this series! Thank you!
Thank you for your vid Staci! Love them, they are positive and upbeat. Your smile is contagious, your composition on film an music is great. Keep up the great work! 😊
My Dad would always go to Yuma every winter from Nov-Apr to get away from our southern Indiana winters. I have never been but it’s on the list. Love the videos, keep em rolling.
U girl have taken some incredible rides love the videos almost riding season here in the northeast actually might ride to work tomorrow calling for 62 tomorrow and by Thursday 26 🥴
You inspired me so much, I rode to Shoshone from Orange County last night and went to badwater basin to see Lake Manly this morning. 600 miles and well worth the ride! Thank you for the inspiration!
It's serendipitous that I discover your channel as you feature the ride to Tortilla Flat. As a newer rider and a Phoenix resident since 2015, there are two things I look for in a ride, scenery and low traffic. So much of this area is either congested freeway or dead boring arrow straight roadway. I haven't made the ride to Tortilla Flat yet, but South Mountain Preserve is barely possible during a weekday lunch break. It brought me a lot of peace when I dealt briefly with a layoff in 2022. Summers are rough, but as you know, tolerable if taken early in the day. Light and ventilated riding gear and hydration got me through a number of 110 plus rides last summer.
@@ridetofood 90 miles, 3.5 hours from my doorstep to the Cove and Oar House. Beer and a bite, explore a little. Sounds like a day. Thanks for the information and content!

The Galleria mall not far from me on Fort Lauderdale Beach, used to have a food court with a geloto stand that served Stracciatella Gelato. If u haven't already, give that one a try.
@ridetofood I get it. While I never add anything to my gelato (I've heard it has a much higher sugar content than ice cream as is), I really like different textures in my ice cream. My go-to for ice cream right now is Fudge Brownie Moose Tracks, and I layer it in a coffee mug with caramel magic shell. I rarely buy it tho, because if it's there, I'm going to have some. 😂
There used to be a pretty good offroad route from Sedona AZ, over to the IH15. NOT for Harleys, except that adv. But I had like a two wheel drive Chevy suv something from Hertz. It made it. I am a good off-roader, but you don't, or at least didn't meet to be. Just take it easy. It was amazing. I just cannot explain how incredible tis little forray was. Anyway. This is awesome to see , I live about 2 miles from the start of Apache Trail, and I ride this multiple times a week! It never gets old 😍
Going over them see through bridges on a motorcycle is always entertaining lol 😂
Some are much sketchier than others lol this one’s very tame
I sat on those horse saddles at the Tortilla Flat saloon once too, my hips were so sore haha. I'm apparently made for iron horses only!
hahaha! yeah I always opt for the couple of normal barstools rather than the saddles
It's been several years, but I've ridden the dirt road the rest of the way to Roosevelt dam several times on a Harley bagger. It's a great ride!
Nice! Yep, it was definitely doable without an adv. sometimes it was a bit washboard-y though!
