    I have two monitors and I had the same issue. I bought a little USB-C to HDMI dongle for one extended display. For the second one, I used a 1080p Apple TV that was already in my house. Plugged the Apple TV into the second monitor, clicked system settings on my MacBook, clicked displays, clicked the add button and it let me mirror a screen to that Apple TV. Works great!

      @@Plugable it has its limitations. It isn’t giving me 1080p at 60hz lol. I actually bought one of your products last night because I have three monitors. In no way was I trying to crap on your product lol. Hope you guys know that. I just know that some folks are a little limited on resources and they make some form of a streaming device with airplay. However, your port that contains display link is the most ideal solution. The Apple TV worked but it was a noticeable difference in image quality when two monitors were side by side. It isn’t ideal at all. Its just possible for someone who is on a budget. I will continue to buy your products. I’m in a coding bootcamp right now and I’m a marketing major. I got this docking station. It "works". I mean you can connect to monitors and see a picture on both 4k monitors, but your experience will be terrible! I connected external camera and it was unusable. Minimizing windows on Mac OS is painful to watch. It is no surprise, since host computer is connected via "USB C/USB3.0", which has maximum bandwidth is 5Gbps. For dual 4k setup one need Thunderbolt 3/4 connectivity. I have multiple laptops, MBA with M1, MBP 2017 and Dell laptop with TB4. On each system I had terrible experience. This is just a fair warning...

      Thanks for asking. You will be able to connect two HDMI monitors to the dock. The demonstration just shows that you can use 1 DisplayPort and 1 HDMI connection, but it is possible to use 2 HDMI connections or 2 DisplayPort connections depending on the input ports available on your monitors.

    One problem I encountered and to keep in mind that I do not see talked about. I have the MI MacBook Air. Works great in clamshell mode. If I have a software update that requires a restart, I have to open the MacBook Air. If it's flat on the desktop, no biggie. But if it's under the desk or in a vertical stand, it's a bit of a pain. If I turn off the option on the Mac to not require a password at log in, then it works just fine. If you are fine with that option, not needing your password to log in, then you are good. In 2021, I favor password security. I did read something on Plugable website about this type of issue with their three monitor docking station and something on Apple's end to fix.
    This is a great unit. Works perfect. External monitor resolution great (I do not have 4K monitors) But there is one hiccup that you should be aware of before purchasing at the time of this reply.

      @@brandonbyram To my knowledge there has been no fix. I just updated to the latest firmware (1.8) same issue. The only work around I can think of is setting up your MacBook to log in automatically. yet that would require turning off FileVault and if you have an iCloud account on that computer, disabling that. Not a workaround I am ok with in 2022 or any date forward. Wish I had a better answer.

      @@kavich_filmmaker There are no specific brands and models that we can claim will not work with our docks other than monitors that have a Thunderbolt input (like the Apple Cinema and Thunderbolt displays). The majority of popular monitor brands and models will work with our UD-6950Z dock that is mentioned in this video as long as you have HDMI or DisplayPort ports. VGA and DVI input ports can work, as well, but they would require adapters that are sold separately.

      In a nutshell, DisplayLink USB graphics works by converting video data into USB data. However, there is additional software overhead that results from this. Therefore, while DisplayLink USB graphics is great for general office or productivity tasks, we don't recommend DisplayLink for more graphics intensive tasks such as gaming. If optimal performance is a concern, then I'm afraid you would not want to consider DisplayLink solutions.
      Hopefully this information was helpful, but please feel free to reach out if you have any follow-up questions or concerns.

    • @michaels.1228
      @michaels.1228 Год назад

      Hi there! Thanks for asking. The UD-6950Z is compatible with the Mac Studio M1 Ultra to help bring an additional two external monitor support at 4K 60Hz. Please keep in mind you will need to have the latest DisplayLink Manager Application installed for best performance. We also recommend our DisplayLink products for light office work and web browsing. We do not recommend using these docks for high-end graphics applications such as CAD, CGI, or video gaming where the application will require direct access to the GPU. DisplayLink does a great job in mimicking the system's video capabilities by using a dynamic video compression technology over USB but does not tie directly into the GPU so these docks are best suited for applications that do not require any heavy graphics requirements. The UD-6950Z also does not support HDCP. Hope this information helps and if you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to reach out directly to our support team and we would be happy to assist further.

    Actually if your problem is only connecting two monitors to MacBook pro then a cheaper solution is to buy either two of HDMI USB-C cables OR to buy two HDMI female to USB-C male adaptors. They will cost around $15 on Amazon each for 4k-60Hz resolution. No screen mirroring issues or any other issues. Usually MacBook pro comes with 2 USB-C ports on each side so you should still have two ports for charging and / or connecting anything else. Just FYI.
