Free falling! Russian cosmonauts during world's first stratospheric jump to North Pole

Space and stratospheric engineer Denis Efremov filmed the world's first stratospheric jump to the North Pole on Friday, 12 April.
Footage shows Efremov jumping out of the plane, opening his parachute and landing on the snow-covered ground.
Besides Efremov, Roscosmos pilot-cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko and flight instructor Aleksandr Lynnik took part in the historic jump.
Dmitry Glagolev, Deputy Director of the Central Aviation Search and Rescue Centre, reported that the jump went smoothly and the crew and mission participants were 'on top of their game'.
"We received word from the ground that they landed in the designated area, they landed normally, without any problems. The weather was great: from 10,000 metres you could see the ice and all the obstacles, the wind was 2-3 metres per second - the ideal conditions that one could wish for, especially for that region," he added.
According to the press office of Russia's Roscosmos space agency, the skydivers dedicated the jump to the 'anniversary of the capital of Bashkortostan, the 120th birth anniversary of pilot Valery Chkalov and Cosmonautics Day'.
The jump was recorded by a representative of the Russian Book of Records, who was present during the mission.
