What i love the most in it is that the Green Goblin has been fighting OG Spiderman for such a long time he knows for a fact that Otto would never joke in such a non-chalant way upon seeing a man holding someone hostage. So it HAS to be Peter himself.
It's always been a running motif in these comics that Spider-Man typically fights below his abilities. He's always horsing around and cracking wise, and villains think they have an accurate idea of what he can do. Then he gets pushed too far, and busts out his real strength and speed, easily wiping the floor with his opponent. It's his snarky jokes that let the Goblin know it was really him.

Funnily enough, I just read through the Superior Spider-Man run a week or two ago. It was pretty decent, and the origins of Alchemax happening right in the story was pretty cool, but you have to wonder just how much in denial everybody was (outside of a few) to not realize that there was clearly something wrong with Spider-Man.
In this last thing with Paul. Spider-Man came back and fought everyone in place of telling them what was going on. He let Ms. Marvel get killed. So Otto wasn't that far off.

Peter created a fighting style called 'The Way of the Spider' and it allowed him to use his Spider Sense to the fullest...including offensively. When he was using that fighting style NO ONE could hit him, and NO ONE could dodge him. Absolutely, positively, no one. Yes the major retcon that destroyed literally 20+ years of unending continuity and character growth happened shortly after they gave Peter that fighting style because they wrote themselves into a corner the hacks couldn't get out of. The retconned happened when they brought in all new writers and artists. Yes, when Peter was able to contact the Spider Totem, Venom and Carnage could no longer go invisible to his Spider Sense after that. As this is the thing, Peter holds himself back so much that he legit is afraid to allow his own Spider Sense to fully open up.
As much Canon there is for Spiderman going rogue over the years this storyline was inevitable and honestly what makes it so great cause they never know
@bigplanner yea time has been unkind to powerlevels. But green goblin was always depicted and stated to be stronger physically than captain america but weaker than spiderman. The reason is the goblin formula is a better version (strength wise) than the super soldier formula. Spiderman how ever had the properties of the super soldier mixed with arachnid(arthropod) strength.
Unfortunately, anything that features Superior Spider-Man hurts quite a bit. Peter Parker should have remained Spider-Man. (I know about the current comics, I’m just saying throughout).
This comic has made Otto my favorite Spider-Man villain, I love stories about villains "coming back to humanity" or changing their ways. It can be difficult to portray that and not make it corny or rly cheesy, this comic was awesome. Green Goblin's a close second no doubt
This made me feel even worse for Peter. The last thing he thinks as everything gets wrapped up is that he failed to find an option that saved the man that hijacked his body for so long. I get that Otto wasn't totally a bad guy anymore, but...I wish Peter could be just a LITTLE selfish sometimes and not take EVERY life he can't save to heart so much, even when they do things like this

To us, Latinos, there's only ONE Spider-Man, we know him as El Asombroso/Sorprendente Hombre-Araña and his name is Peter Parker... We don't care about any "miguel" or Fake Latino "miles". We like El Hombre-Araña, white, redheaded and without brownie points spidermen along side.

Goblin straight up destroyed half the city, billions in damages, likely lots of injuries or deaths from the fires and glass..... but spidey stiiillll wont just put the guy into a dirt nap? If Spider-Man turned evil, he’d be extremely scary. He can move and react fast enough to dodge bullets. I’m sure he’s dodging where the gun is pointing rather than bullets in flight, but it amounts to the same either way. He’s far stronger than most heroes and his moves are bizarre and difficult to predict. He’d be a total beast if he went rogue.
I just can't stand with superior Spiderman. The idea of stealing someone's body and leaving them in your dying body is too disgusting, and also, peter parkers' ghost was stupid
Well I don't think it actually was a ghost, I think what happened was essentially hypnosis. Peter was still Peter, but he had the Mind of Doc overlapping him and the reverse for Doc. The ghost I think was just the real personality breaking through.
The whole concept is just too ridiculous that I often found myself laughing at it while reading as if it were a comedy. Definitely one of the Spiderman comics of all time.

The Marvel Comics 616 Universe would be in trouble if he ever became a villain. He was shown to be able to take down all of the Avengers without permanently harming any of them without permanently harming any of them. They were all lucky he didn't want to cause any permanent injuries. Doctor Doom knows to fear him if he isn't speaking or cracking jokes.
That's answered in a story. Spidey got zombified and ate his closest loved ones, then, when that urge was over, banished himself to protect everyone else he could. Even when his mind is rotten and the only thing left is hunger and instinct, his "good guy" instincts are OVERALL more powerful

Yeah, blue ink was just cheaper than black ink so all those old comics used blue in place of black.

What do you think Spider-Man would be like if he became a villain after everything that happened to him cause does the whole great responsibility mean anything if he can't help him in building a life for himself if he's busy helping others? Do you think we will see this happening to Tom Holland Spider-Man since he's got no one to show him the light?
He had his uncle Ben, they mentioned him once. And no, I don't believe baby face Tom Holland would even come close to be a good villain
The Marvel Comics 616 Universe would be in trouble if he ever became a villain. He was shown to be able to take down all of the Avengers without permanently harming any of them without permanently harming any of them. They were all lucky he didn't want to cause any permanent injuries.
Doctor Doom knows to fear him if he isn't speaking or cracking jokes.
That's answered in a story. Spidey got zombified and ate his closest loved ones, then, when that urge was over, banished himself to protect everyone else he could. Even when his mind is rotten and the only thing left is hunger and instinct, his "good guy" instincts are OVERALL more powerful

So many people dumped on Slotts run and hated the idea for this comic when it was first announced, and now, everyone looks on it fondly. Im glad to see it. Loved these stories when they were new.
It’s because Zeb Wells ruined Spider-Man
They "look on it fondly" in the same way that people treat the Star Wars prequels after the Disney trilogy. They didn't understand just how bad things could actually get. LOL
@@khiryhelmsok thats a stretch, dan slott has written some bad stories but superior spiderman is one of if not his best, its one of the freshest spiderman comic book stories of the 2010s imo
