@@poloy7051 That's the problem when you have a bunch of superheroes with vastly different power levels. You ask any Spider-Man fan about what he's truly capable of and we inevitably will bring up this comic. Pete didn't even bring his full strength to the table. He just stopped trying to pull his punches. He used his intelligence to hunt the assassin. He pulled the most amazing threat out the bag to make sure Kingpin had nothing but fear of the inevitable to replace the unfettered arrogance he first set things off with. This arc is peak full power Spider-Man.
I don't know if im the only one but I LOVE SEEING Spiderman just completly lose it and completly humble his opponents. Also this is the kind of aggression I want to see in live action.
The thing that makes this so much cooler is the fact that up until dominating Kingpin, Peter was still holding back when fighting all the goons. Realistically, he could have exploded their heads with a single punch, but he just roughed them up more than he normally would.
There's a big difference between the two though. Before this, Spider-man was holding back to hot harm them. Now he's holding back to harm them as much as physically possible.
@@Neutral_TiredI think pulling a man by his fucking chest meat and not ripping skin is definitely holding back. Also ironic that at 21:20 Peter says what he says, considering he does meet the definitive God of Marvel comics.
Scariest part is Peter was STILL holding back, and CLEARLY too. He threw a keep like it was a baseball. If he’d put that same power behind a single punch he’d have Superior Spider-Man’d Fisk’s jaw
That’s shows the true strength of his character. He absolutely could’ve turned Fisk into pulp, quite easily too. But no matter how full of rage he was, no matter how great his desire for vengeance, subconsciously he could never forgot the promise he made to his dying uncle. He did the responsible thing and didn’t abuse his power, but he never said he wouldn’t put the fear of heaven into him to keep him and any other scumbag foolish enough to try from hurting those he loves. He already lost one person he cared about to crime, he’s never letting that happen again…
I mean i would say true strength is the ability to never start a fight. Always only use just what is needwd. Bd good help others. But be able and ready to know true vitriolic malice and hatred. To know the empty souless eyes of the person who laughs as children bleed to death. To kill a killer is to make a new onem. To kill 3 killers just makes yiu a new serial killer. But to kill the man who single handidly runs an entire organization that results in the deaths of hundreds every year. That is to declare peace.
And it was Kingpins Money which made them do it. THATS the biggest ouch. He paid them to pretend they didn't see, and thus nobody saved him. Part of Kingpins beating is his own fault. Sure, they couldn't do shit, but that'd eat him alive.
i don't remember fully how it went, but i remember a comment about a grunt that went something like this: "But the families? The families are off limits. You see, most of these heroes could kill guys like us with little to no difficulty what-so-ever. And they choose not to So don't give them a reason"
Wanna know something? Peter wasn't even using all his strength against Fisk despite what it may look like. So Kingpin took a beating from Peter that left him DESTROY and Peter was STILL holding back during it.
And people say Batman can beat Spider-Man and say Batman's villain's can beat Spider-Man like MF do you not understand he's holding back against his own villain's too 🤦🏾♂️ I'm tired of this stupid debate of these Batman fans mf Batman ain't beating Spider-Man yeh he can beat him if he holds back but if he's not Batman is getting absolutely obliterated and Spider-Man doesn't have no stupid kryptonite weakness too exploit let's be honest the only reason Batman is even still alive after his fights with Supes is cause that fuckin kryptonite and him exploiting Supes emotions
I read an X-Men novel once...at one point Woverine and Electro were fighting each other: Electro: I've fought Spider-Man dozens of times! Wolverine: Yeah? Tell me you beat him even once, and I'll be impressed! Wolverine knows how good Spidey is
Dude I just love when Peter turns ACTUALLY SERIOUS. It just goes to show how much Peter Parker / Spiderman really holds back, and this comic shows it really well. He can just humble his opponents easily with his web shooting and all of his tricks, using the spider-sense was smart like that.
It's just a black suit he left to rot on top of a skyscraper a couple years ago. The symbiote is in a completely different suit, currently worn by a completely different person
Yeah.....one of the times he wasn't, he killed fisk with one punch....from the amount of blood up to his elbow it looked like he nearly punched through him.
I love this story! Mainly because it doesn't only show just HOW MUCH Spider Man holds back, but it also shows just how *TERRIFYING* he can be when you cross him. He can be even more terrifying than Scarlet Spider (Kaine parker), Spider man 2099, or even BATMAN himself. And when Spider mans not telling jokes you KNOW that you fucked up.
@@JakNasty69he kept it because if he was going to be Spider-Man then he couldn't paint Spider-Man by making bad decisions so if anything happened as a backup he kept a cloth replica of the black Spider-Man suit as Parker is a very intelligent person and he plans ahead of time
You know, if One More Day wasn’t made and Aunt May was killed off, I could definitely see this as a great send off to the Kingpin. Like Peter is counting down to three as he makes his way to the prison, only to find Fisk’s cell empty, and the story would later reveal that right around the same time that May passed, he had taken his own life.
Ooohhh, that is an interesting character exploration. Because doing that DENIES Spider Man his final revenge. Fisk dies, sure, but he also still WINS in a way.
@@Cen2050 I feel like if that happened, they all just lose. Kingpin was broken, so terrified of Peter that he'd rather 💀himself, and Peter isn't allowed to complete his vengeance.
Aunt Mays life is the only thing stopping Peter from ever killing a person. If somebody ever officially killed her off I truly believe the writers would have Spiderman kill them
This version of peter had to make an example because his identity was already revealed. This was a warning for every inmate who would ever think of harming him or his family in anyway. This is Epic story telling.
The moment in Superior Spiderman when Doc Ock realized that Peter had been holding back all this time and could have killed him whenever he wanted was priceless too. lol
Punched off Scorpions jaw in like the first issue off his face clean off. Could of killed him, Doc Ock or not if I were Scorpion I would have a stronger vendetta against Spiderman for life for that.
The "Back in Black" story arc was one of the best of the entire first series of ASM. Ever since Kingpin's debut in ASM #50, these two character have sparred and while Spider-Man always kept himself in check with his level of response, he showed Kingpin the level he could go to if provoked too much. Thank you for posting.
More people used to know about Kingpin more from Spiderman, like the animated series mainly, but the guy has completely been destroying Daredevil worse for years
The emotion and raw power behind Peter’s destroyed self is something we all wish to see on the big screen someday, and the voice acting is top notch, the pinnacle, something I’d expect out of a real film. Unbelievable work, well done 💪🏻
It won't be on a big screen... But it WILL be the moment where we finally see the angriest and most vengeful Spider-Man that'll ever be represented upon OUR screens. Man. October 20th can't come soon enough.
I'd say a new Amazing Spider-Man 3, if ever released, will probably come as close as any movie ever will. The line "I stopped pulling my punches" was uttered in direct reference to Andrew's franchise, and it would make sense to have the new movie be about that time period (or at least reference it).
What I love most, aesthetic wise, is he’s wearing the “normal” black suit he wore after getting rid of Venom (he later ditched this suit after Venom kidnapped MJ, and she practically begged him to get rid of it, for obvious reasons), but it still has the same scary face of the Venom Suit, yet it’s his real face that scares Kingpin and his men the most. And that also means that all the rage he expresses, is coming out RAW and from him, unamplified by a symbiyote. That’s just even more terrifying to me
So in the comics, did the symbiote suit stay separate to Venom? I thought the full suit essentially became venom after Peter discarded it. Also for your last line, I agree. He was so emotionally pissed off that I think the symbiote barely affected/influenced him. It was like his rage was completely overriding the suit's control over him.
Yes. His reasoning for keeping a “black suit” was that it was more intimidating to criminals, though she asked if it was due to some form of obsession with the memory of how “good the Venom suit felt”. But he also wore the black one as a way to express his rage, since the red and blue suit was too close to the good natured Spider-Man. Black Suit spider-man was for when he wasn’t fking around. This Black Suit isn’t the symbiote, just designed after its appearance, but minus the “Psycho voice in my head”
When you think about it, Spiderman is probably the most terrifying person alive in marvel comics. He's fast enough to dodge bullets without spider sense, strong enough to crush steel and lift tens of thousands of pounds with his bare hands, and smart enough to create complex strategies in a second or two. When it comes right down to it, 99.99% of people can't stop him when he wants to do something.
This story is Bullsh*t It doesn't deserve to exist!. We don't agree on this! I am a huge fan of Spider-Man especially Universe 96283... You are just a comic fan... We aren't the same! This "Evil" Spider-Man isn't the real one... 😣
You'd be surprised what muscles can do for broken bones. Professional Wrestler Tazz had his neck broken in a match but he walked into the hospital because his neck hurt. He walked into a hospital from the arena with a broken neck. The human body can be weird.
-Excellent voice acting -Correctly pronounces all words, but adds extra touches of script to shake things up This channel is leagues above the other comic channels
We really going to do the its a mag not a clip thing when the whole point of the video is to highlight a comic that shows Spider-Man not holding back anymore
Ah, I see you were waiting to dedicate an entire episode to this moment. It’s honestly one of the scariest moments of Spider-Man (even if it leads to easily the most controversial decision in the entirety of Spider-Man…) and shows just how far he’s willing to go if his family is messed with. If he can fuck up a brick shithouse like Kingpin, imagine how badly a regular thug could get hurt or killed if they tried hurting Peter’s family.
I read and stopped bcus I hated how it turned out, it ruined my day. Also I hate mj too, all she did is just be the foil to Peter and never had something unique to say on her own, it's always just "follow your heart Pete and I'll follow you wherever you go" until their whole lives were gone because of it. If their love was so rare in a millenia then why the fuck did they put it at risk constantly and trash it away 💀, Naw Ik smarter and better couples than that
@@rns6889 Hence why I said “even if…” I’ve never read One More Day, but I can easily see from people’s discussion of it why it’s so universally hated. What’s the point of building up their relationship if it’s only going to be 1.) put in danger and 2.) end in such a catastrophically divisive way that makes no sense for either Peter or MJ? Peter making a deal with the devil to get May back feels very out of character and MJ just being like “lol okay” to having her memories of love being erased is so stupid.
@@rns6889 Furthermore, and as bad as this sounds, how long would Aunt May have had anyways even if she didn’t get shot? They describe her as a “frail old lady,” so I’m assuming she’s well into her Golden Years at this point in this story. A few more years with your mother figure by trading a lifetime with the “once in a Millenia” love you found seems even more like a horrible trade off.

“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man” The Kingpin found out the lethality of not heeding that message.
"The anger of a good man is not a problem, good men have too many rules." "good men don't need rules today is NOT the day to find out why I have so many."
And this is why I love Spiderman. This man showed no mercy once he was pissed of and he still held back. Goes to show that he’s stronger than we think.
Honestly I love this. Throughout the years Spider-Man has gone through the worst treatment in life, this is no different. But this time he realizes with the way life destroys him, the only way to get back is to destroy the opposition. Poetic karma and true justice.
Fantastic story. One of the few that show how truly powerful Peter really is when he isn't holding back. I used to get sick of Peter always coming out on the wrong side of things. I used to think 'give him a break'. I love when he gets on top like this. Wilson Fisk isn't as smart as he thinks he is. He pissed off his two most dangerous enemies, Spiderman and Daredevil. The harder they come the harder they fall.
I love how Kingpin was so confidant in himself to think that he even stood a whisper of a chance at Spider-man when he's not holding back anymore. And even then he was still holding back since, if he wanted to, he could punch Kingpin one time in the chest and send all hit organs bursting out of his back in an instant.
One problem. He should've killed him here. Because if he lets this sink in, ego as big as kingpin this'll sound ridiculous but he will try and get revenge on peter for trying to get revenge on him. And uh, it ain't like peter has hard skin so if peter puts his hand near him kingpin can grab it and pull peter in to bite his neck open. (Yes, surprise surprise if you drive someone to the brink of insanity with your own insanity they will become rabid.) Frisk at that point will drag peter down to hell with him.
@claymationgloves3662 The thing is Kingpin is not an idiot ( well aside from this moment). Kingpin is more than capable of understanding when he is beat before. Yes to both, and either way, he's roughly 175x as strong as the biggest, strongest competitive weightlifters, or "only" 35x as strong. A casual punch, like 10% effort, from the weakest version of Spider-Man would spell adios to any human skull. Kingpin knows Spider-Man. He must know this guy could destroy him at will, or even accidentally. And yet he's like "hey I'ma kill your family lol." 😂
Captain America could beat Kingpin's ass quite handily. What does this poser think he's gonna do against a pissed off Spider-Man who has held buildings up before.
I remember when spider man had a daily comic strip in the newapaper(yes I'm that old) and Peter struggled to hold up the back end of a bus that lost a wheel. Barely two tons.
They need to make this comic into a movie. It would work so well as the plot for Amazing Spider-Man 3 if they could ever get the green light to make that movie. Getting to see Andrew finally come back as an angry Spider-Man to fight one of the best villains of all time would be incredible.
Excellent presentation of an excellent story 😻 This has long been one of my favorites simply because it wasn't a "Spiderman" story... it's a "Peter Parker" story. The most visceral moment is when Peter takes off the suit and makes it clear that Spidey wasn't going to kill Fisk... HE was. **chills**
The thing is, if it weren't for the ideals Pete had adopted as Spider-Man developed over time, Fisk could have probably died during their very first encounter. Spidey is definitely capable of knocking Kingpin's head right off his shoulders...literally. As it was Pete merely described the three seconds it would take to fill up Fisk's with webbing...He left it up to his imagination what the 3 minutes or so would be like before the lack of fresh air caused unconsciousness. Think of it like swimming & you get caught without any way to reach the surface again. With each passing second, your brain screams out for more oxygen, the panic increasing intensity until your will power to continue holding your breath just futilely gives up trying. How long can you hold your breath? How long would you last without being *able* to breathe? How long before you finally lose the consciousness that made every second so tortuous? In the case of drowning, there's hope of possibly being rescued & revived, perhaps even without permanent brain damage (which starts within about 6 minutes). Even if you were oxygen-deprived for a bit longer you might continue to live for about 15 minutes or so & maybe even make a significant recovery if rescued but by that time, you're already beyond the pain anyway. Pete wasn't even giving Fisk any shred of that kind of hope at all, pointing out that there would be no possible rescue coming for him. Pushing someone like Spider-Man over the edge like that is perhaps the scariest thing you could do. He's the only non-psionic that has come closest to *stopping* Juggernaut; as it was, it took Juggy several *months* to walk out of the trap Spidey put him in; He's single-handedly defeated cosmic-level entities, like Firelord, on a number of different occasions; it's nearly impossible to catch him by surprise or blind-side him & his reflexes are fast enough that he can literally dodge lightning bolts. A mere mortal like Fisk doesn't stand a chance & never really did.
When did Spider-Man wound the Juggernaut? Isn't Firelord a Herald of Galactus? I'm a Spider-Fan but Peter should always lose against Heralds unless the circumstances are extremely out of the ordinary.
@@concept5631 I never said that Spidey *wounded* Juggernaut...I said he nearly *stopped* him. This was a 3-issue story arc that featured Madame Web (clairvoyant, and precognitive mutant). Spidey trapped him in the not-yet-set cement foundation for a skyscraper under construction. Juggy sunk like a rock, just like in quicksand (which, essentially, it was). Sure, Juggy doesn't need air, food or sleep but he had to wait until he touched bottom of a very *deep* pit of cement before he could start walking again. Juggernaut eventually did walk out from under that foundation but it took him a few *months* to do it. For someone who doesn't have psionic powers capable of mind-blasting Juggy into unconsciousness (pretty much the only way to stop him, short of cosmic level powers that can drastically change his body such as devolving him back into protoplasm or something), Spidey has otherwise been the closest to stop him outright. As for stopping Firelord, circumstances were out of the ordinary. Yes, I've got both of those story arcs in the comics, literally decades ago.
What most of the villains seem to forget is the only reason they are alive is because heros have a no kill policy. It is always nice to see a hero stop holding back when fighting villains.
yes but that no kill policy also killed them sometimes. Take kravens last hunt for example idk if its cannon but it shows that if the heros also underestimate the villains they could also die
Reminds me of when Octavius took control of Peter's body and realized he was holding back all these years. Peter has always been a good dude, when you break that inside him god help you.
Only one thing would have made the beating of kingpin better, if Spider-Man let Fisk hit him full force. Not many people know this but Spider-Man is EXTREMELY durable. It’s been said that if a Normal man punched him full force they would break their hand. Which is why he rolls with the punches to avoid hurting the crooks he fights Imagine this: Fisk: Quit dodging and stand still damn you! Peter: If you insist Punches spider and screams in agony while looking at his bloody broken hand Peter: What’s the matter Fisk? Surprised? Fisk: What the hell?! I’ve fought you before, even made you bleed. Peter: you see Fisk here’s the thing. All my time as Spider-Man, I’ve always rolled with the punches. If regular punks like you just hit me full force you’d break your arms. I held back cause I’m a nice guy… but today I’m all out of mercy
litteraly everyone knows how durable he is. It's just some comics show him being hurt by normal bullets while some he can just shrug. They change his durability in bassicly every comic.
Kingpin isn't, strictly-speaking, a normal human. He is strong enough to do some real damage to Peter. He has done, several times. Sure, he'd break his own hand/arm doing it, especially if Spidey braced and took it; but it would still hurt, and possibly give Kingpin an opening to either rally or escape. Not worth the risk.
@@trise2033 i was about to say. A normal man yea. A full serious fisk punch? given the physical strength we seen him do, there is no way peter can take one without bracing and just be perfectly ok.
I always love it when villains learn the hard way not to mistake the hero's kindness for weakness. There's nothing scarier than a kind and patient man who has nothing left to lose.
Honestly, the thing I admire the most about your video here isn’t that you do such a high quality job with the voice acting, (which you do, btw 😊), but also because the voice you use for Peter sounds impossibly similar to Yuri Lowenthal’s; Peter’s VA in the Spider-Man PS4 games. Heck, at times your Kingpin voice reminds me of Vincent Dinoffrio’s performance as Kingpin. Exemplary work.
The funny thing is that his friend Daredevil got Fisk released not too long after this happened. It was a real missed opportunity that No writer ever followed up on that. I imagine that Peter wouldn’t have been too happy if he found out .
Had he even remembered what happened, he would have been! One more day/brand new day was just a few issues after this and everything had had happened was reversed.
Dude! I don't know if you're a professional VA or not, but the way you read this comic, you sure sounded like one. Your reading of Peter's dialogue in particular was imo a *perfect* portrayal of an enraged Spiderman and also somehow sounded exactly like the version of Spiderman from the Insomniac Spiderman game on PS4. Very nice!
I’m just discovering these narrated comics and I’m loving it! The quality on these is so fantastic, the narration, the voice acting, the animations, the sound effects, every detail is well thought out!
If he is holding back, then why is he using two fists and a lot of momentum swing in his punches? If you judge by the comic strips, he looks like he is doing 80 percent.
@@ArranVid…spider-man can support an entire apartment complex while badly beaten on his back and arms. He could punch hard enough to go through Fisk like rice paper. He’s superhuman to such a degree it strains plausibility that he CAN hold back enough not to end a life. Trust me that’s not 80%

@@linda-0587 Oh ok. So it's a natural, non-symbiote suit. I guess that makes more sense why he had it.

When you think about it, Spiderman is probably the most terrifying person alive in marvel comics. He's fast enough to dodge bullets without spider sense, strong enough to crush steel and lift tens of thousands of pounds with his bare hands, and smart enough to create complex strategies in a second or two. @@patd9850 nah i meant moreso that the comics cant really commit to major changes like this for fear of straying away too much from what makes it spiderman, a guy who is down on his luck trying to grow, but the problem with that is when youve been going for decades you cant constantly grow and you have to regress characters and retread plotlines, its why DC reboots the universe sometimes or why "one more day" undoes so much of spiderman's story
@@dallama2616Spider-Man whole thing is about growing with the reader what marvel did to Spider-Man is the single dumbest thing on the planet they made Spider-Man stagnant
I know Kraven would be bricked up watching this
I love it when some regular human stands there threatening Spider-Man's family as if there's anything stopping him from punting the guy through the wall and into another area code. What are you even doing, threatening a person who can lift ten tons? He could slap your face literally off. 😂
10 tons is Spiderman's old strength level. He can lift 50 tons now and possibly even more when stressed.
@ossangar To be fair, Spidey's strength fluctuates upward a lot, but it does always seem to "reset" at about 10 tons.
Yeah, especially considering that Webb and Sony were planning to make the Sinister Six fight against Andrew's Peter with the Symbionte Suit in TASM 3!
Especially after Andrew said he stopped holding his punches, shame we've never got to see the ruthless Spiderman.
Excellent presentation of an excellent story 😻
This has long been one of my favorites simply because it wasn't a "Spiderman" story... it's a "Peter Parker" story.
And he still held back. If spiderman wanted to, he could kill him with one punch
ONE PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCH!
couldn't help myself.

Even heroes know that sometimes the line has to be crossed to get justice.
Kingpin was violated By Peter. Jesus Christ.

So ironic how it wasnt spider man that beaten kingpin but Peter parker instead, at least in this universe
Only one thing would have made the beating of kingpin better, if Spider-Man let Fisk hit him full force. Not many people know this but Spider-Man is EXTREMELY durable. It’s been said that if a Normal man punched him full force they would break their hand. Which is why he rolls with the punches to avoid hurting the crooks he fights Imagine this:
Fisk: Quit dodging and stand still damn you!
Peter: If you insist
Punches spider and screams in agony while looking at his bloody broken hand
Peter: What’s the matter Fisk?
That would be sick
Kingpin isn't, strictly-speaking, a normal human. He is strong enough to do some real damage to Peter. He has done, several times. Sure, he'd break his own hand/arm doing it, especially if Spidey braced and took it; but it would still hurt, and possibly give Kingpin an opening to either rally or escape. Not worth the risk.
@@trise2033 i was about to say. A normal man yea. A full serious fisk punch? given the physical strength we seen him do, there is no way peter can take one without bracing and just be perfectly ok.
between batman smiling and spiderman not talking, Spider-man not talking is the bigger "you screwed up big time"
even here angry peter sounds like angry matt patt
I love how one of the best spiderman moments happens before one of the worst. This was the last good spidey comic
I always love it when villains learn the hard way not to mistake the hero's kindness for weakness. There's nothing scarier than a kind and patient man who has nothing left to lose.
"A long freaking way from 'okay', MJ." was the best quote i've ever heard lol
People dont really realize how powerful Spiderman really is...he just hides it...with humor...but once he takes off the kid gloves? Savage...
For having every bone in his body broken, he did a damn good job walking back to his cell.
Peter Parker unhinged is just scary af. Lol I'm impressed
“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.”
Very nice!
100th like
why is no one talking about how good this man’s voice acting is?
I’m just discovering these narrated comics and I’m loving it! The quality on these is so fantastic, the narration, the voice acting, the animations, the sound effects, every detail is well thought out!
It's scary when you find out he's still holding back😳
true man.
Trust me that’s not 80%
@@ArranVid Stupid question. Its the same way Superman holds back or Batman holds back or The Flash or Captain America or The Hulk or millions of characters holds back when they’re using their whole body, they hold back 🤯🤯🤯😱😱😱

If Spider-Man were to stop holding back, the villains would seriously be cooked.
I just stumbled upon this channel but I gotta say I can really appreciate the voice acting that goes behind these. Really just takes thing to an extra level.

this story just shows one of the many reasons why i love Spider-Man (also my last name is parker so its a plus) he's a charecter that shows no mercy hes like a mix of the flash and batman (in personality) while still knowing how to better himself and his neighborhood
People forget just how much peter holds back.
This is why you play along with Spiderman. Good guy chases bad guy, good guy catches bad guy. Because when the game is over and the gloves are off, counting is the only thing people can really do when the Spider is after vengeance
After hearing how Yuri Lowenthal voiced Symbiote Spidey in Spider-Man 2, I want to hear this whole story with his voice
Good to see I'm not the only one imagining this with Yuri-Peter.
This is the spiderman they need in a movie or animated show
the emotion we feel emanating from peter in this comic is something every man has felt before
Whenever the funny guy stops being funny and gets serious, my o my, all hell's about to break lose.
