The sliders is such a great idea. I always wondered how the set looked but this gives great perspective.
Such an amazing job and design, the work that was put into this makes it even more a shame the show got only 2 seasons.
That's a lot of thought that went into it, very interesting! The idea that most of the Destiny set was self-lit must have saved them TONS of time
Especially for filming in tight areas hard to get to with a camera otherwise.

Impressive! I always love how creative People can be on shows like this. It reminds me of the tiny house communities, when they build a tiny house they often have commonly used objects be a source of multiple items stairs but also be drawers with things inside. With so little space to work with they often have to be very creative and make sure that there's no wasted space In the environment that they have to live in.
Flex sets are great for a science fiction show such as this.

a little bit of trivia for you folks,
The interior sets to Destiny, and the Gate Room, were filmed at Bridge Studios in Burnaby BC. After the show got canceled, the very same sound stage where the Destiny Gate Room was, was later used for Once Upon a Time, again featuring robert carlyle. So he went from playing Rush, to Rumplestilskin, without leaving the same building :D

Too bad the editing of this video is done so badly. You can hardly see what he's showing due all the missplaced overlays and constant cutting away. But that's the stuff that's interesting :(

I just want to tell Universal that I refuse to PAY for any old shows. I payed the first time and If you insist on not giving me ANY episode including episode 1 - wrong! You ain't worth it you bastards! Fact is I was paying for SGU and your writers couldn't keep me interested! More rooms, more rooms, more rooms? It is my belief that you came to close to the truth when you told us there was a pattern in the MBR which implied intelligence! Something you never met decided that was way too close to the truth eh? F... them! Those hominids are doomed!
