The ship became home to a reluctant crew from Earth after they discovered how to access it using the Stargate's ninth chevron.
Destiny (translated from its Ancient name) was designed to be a follow-up craft to numerous seeder ships which preceded it in the universe. These automated ships were sent out to gather data, resources, manufacture Stargates and deposit them on habitable worlds. Thus there may be hundreds to thousands of isolated Stargate networks in the universe.

I've been working my way through the entire SG library. I'm really disappointed that SGU ended prematurely. As a series it had real depth beyond SG-1 & Atlantis. The style of cinematography would probably hold up better today than when it was produced. Amazing story line, so much potential that was unrealized.
They did have to do something with SGU to continue the series, the humans in the show were too strong at that time after Atlantis, with how advanced they had gotten with their Daedalus class ships and Asgard beam weapons, so I quite liked the change of scenery to kinda set them back to being the underdogs again.
I personally love the music in SGU the most of any of the shows, and you could tell that it had a much larger budget from the other shows (something like 1 mill dollars per episode of SGU), the set design was amazing and they really did a great job doing it.
In my opinion some of the story was lacking in the first season, though it really did become much better in the second season.
I‘m finishing up a re-watch of Season 2 right now, and I agree 100 percent.
I really wanted them to find the source of the signal behind the background radiation, too bad we'll never get to know
Yeah dude i agree sgu ended when it was just starting to settle in.
They left poor Eli alone for way more than 3 years now. Someone pick this show back up
All he had to do was to ask his girlfriend in the computer to recall a seed ship with some working repair robots on it. Dock and use the seed ship for spare parts to fix Destiny.
SGU dynamic between Dr Rush, Col Young, Ms Wray and others was so awesome, we had to watch the series as assignment in leadership class, because it perfectly illustrated the dangers of mistrust.
3 years ago I made some comments. I want to delete those and here are my newest feelings. I've now watched SGU 3 times. I've ended up loving the ending episodes. The Destiny is my absolute favorite Ship I've encountered. I'm 68 and a complete sci-fi nut. SGU is a brilliant show. Destiny powered by sunlight. No ship I've seen is so rugged. I would love to believe a ship like that will be built over the next few thousand years.
I love all Stargate shows and movies. The world building was complete but it is a pulpy show. SGU hit the spot for me. It was going for the grittiness of BSG but in the Stargate universe and I loved everything about it.
Pity the series did not continue. I'm sure there would be more ships as destiny. For me the universe ended prematurely.
Marcelo Carvalho Yeah like eight or nine years too soon
Still waiting for the movie!
we can always create fan fiction. as i do on occasion. within the youtube comments sections.
yeah, its a bit fucking stupid they slapped them in cryostatsis while that one guy just stayed.
Good news has juts been recently released. Brad Wright says '5 out of 7 chevrons locked'. That's to say that the talks have progressed with MGM further than they have previously, and they're waiting for a few crucial pieces to fall into place before anything can be confirmed. Still doesn't mean the show is guaranteed to return, but we're getting closer and closer to that being a reality.
I loved SGU, the whole survival-drama theme of trying to stay alive, people at each other's throats, with no help from some sort government or military to bail them out, exploring new planets, like a walking dead/LOST version of stargate.
They should have made atlantis that way as well, only with less broken city or the wraith not being as dominate in the galaxy or as advanced, or actually having a 3rd non-human party in the fight that weren't replicators or overpowered allies like the asguard but only slightly more advanced with far fewer numbers than the wraith, or less advanced with far more numbers.
I miss this show more than any other..... they had so far left to go
Agreed!
Imagine if the aliens that repaired the shuttle to originally designed specifications, ran into the destiny crew and brought destiny back to its original glory. That would have been amazing.
They'd be like "bruhh just take this thing out back & shoot it! We already solved its mission upon ascension haha it was so obvious really! Here let me just blow this relic up for u"
SGU was a show with unlimited potential that quickly became a CW style drama that thought the louder people yelled at each other, the more the audience would feel a connection.
I liked SGU, just not the crappy personal relations between the crew.
Hahaha me too!😄😄😄
Their relations grew during the series, but we were prevented from finding out how much further they would go.
Sgu had potentially story wise, it got too "edgy" and probably even more cringy to me. It finally starting getting better in season 2 and well, the rest is unfinished
Agreed, they kept double crossing one another, they were on a space ship billions of light years from home and they couldn’t find a way to get along, so stupid, season 2 was better for the relationships but they ended the show.
Agreed, so sad just as it was getting good it ended.😎👍
Even though the Series wasn't that good until the point they ended it, I think Destiny is my favourite ship in the SG Universe. Can't wait for them to continue SG.
I really wish they had done more with SGU.
Yeah it was a shame that got cut down it was starting to get good
Zerebrat Eightyseven loll. You got that right😎👍
yeah well that's the space channel for you they no longer needed stargate anymore and mgm hadn't the money to continue the series on their own at that time
I really liked this Stargate show. Other than the story moving a little too slow it felt like it was more of a show for adults. I was extremely pissed off when it was canceled. I really hope they try to reeboot it or go back to where they left off. I really liked the story of the hidden messages in the CRB. Imagine finding the "Builder" or "God" that created the universe if that's what they were going for.
Great video bud. Im glad I found your channel.
I had to watch this show twice, I really didn't like it the first time. But I really did enjoy the second time. I hope they don't do a reboot. But a continuation, and at the very least a movie would be great! They could very easily continue it, by saying there was a problem with the stasis pods. And everyone age normally, and the trip took longer than three years across the void. Do to a navigational anomaly or something didn't see in their path. Thank you very much Scott, I'm glad you found it too! Have a great day!😎👍
Really a shame that this show didn't get the run it deserved
I don't think Destiny follows the seeder ships, at least closely. The seeder ships have to go to each planet, analyze whether or not it can support humanoid life and drop a stargate on it. The Destiny ship has to travel far enough away from the planets so the stargate won't dial itself.
You are absolutely right about Destiny not following the seed ships closely. The one acquired by the Ursini was somehow damaged and then salvaged by them.
Preventing the stargate from dialing itself not the reason Destiny's course must avoid getting too close to planets; where did you come up with that BTW?
As far as we know, the auto-dialing of the gate on Destiny occurs specifically in response to the crew's need for a natural resource that was recorded to exist on a planet in range of Destiny.
(I'm assuming you didn't actually mean the stargate dialing its own address when you said "dial itself" because we know that's pointless & does nothing.)
It is actually stars (and therefore by default/proximity planets) that Destiny must not get too close to. Otherwise it will get caught in its gravity well, as we saw happen with the solar system that was apparently created where 8 scientists from Destiny decided to stay.
@@DJJonPattrsn22 I'm pretty sure he's referring to the same problem SG-1 ran into when they were near the second gate in Antarctica and tried dialing earth, they had no idea they were on earth trying to dial to the same galactic location that they were already at (although at the moment i wish i could recall why the arctic gate didn't take priority over the one that rah brought since it was the original and it was connected to a DHD), the dialing sequence is based on location in space relative to other astral bodies, you dial in the location and it connects to the stargate, but if the gates are too close to each other they essentially share the same sequence and you get the busy signal.
@@user-ep8ns6hg4q OK, I got you. That makes sense. That's party of what I was trying to explain...
There are actually several plot holes involving the Antarctica gate, in that episode (solitudes) and later episodes...
A really solid answer to that question is never really offered. Although, it is at least implied that the original gate's DHD being broken (presumably for a very long time and therefore not communicating with the other DHDs & giving/getting updates) was the reason for it not being the dominant gate.
They also seemed to imply that it was really just a fluke that the wormhole jumped to that gate since the DHD was broken.
The biggest plot hole would be the period after Ra's gate was buried. Why aren't any travelers to earth routed through that gate instead of materializing it stone & becoming a fossil... But that whole idea is problematic because the kawoosh would vaporize everything in its path. And I'm not sure but I wonder if a wormhole can even open if the kawoosh is suppressed. I don't recall if this detail is addressed.
If I'm not mistaken, the seeder ships work was expected to be rather slow because they essentially had to scout out and map each galaxy and analyze the best candidate planets to investigate closet and potentially visit & scan in order to deposit a stargate; those chosen planets must also be placed along the route Destiny was meant to follow. They would also be seeking to mine & process the necessary minerals to manufacture the stargates.
It seems likely that the ancients sent out multiple waves of seed ships perhaps for a number of consecutive generations.
@@DJJonPattrsn22 I definitely can't recall the episode, but they have definitely closed the iris during a dial in, it would also have kept anubis from keeping them locked out during the siege, the gate on atlantis was also able to be dialed into while the shield was up, there's also the episode where they dial a gate that is face down and completely buried in sand and were able to connect.
Wow this was great thanks . Stargate series is one of my favorites and I really didn't know much about this ship. I really wish they would have found out it's history on the show . That would have made a great eps.
You are most welcome Hank. I'm sure we would have got a full history about it had it been allowed to continue.😎👍
SGU was an amazing show because they had to work _so_ hard for everything they accomplished. Unlike Atlantis where everything magically worked for them all the time, Destiny had to be claimed bit by bit, and the stakes were almost always life or death. SGU remains the best series in the franchise.
Although I cannot agree as to you that SGU was the best franchise, it was really good. I hated it originally, mainly due to these civilians and their actions against the military. I just rewatched the whole series last month and found a new likeness for it. I dig the destiny it's a pretty sweet ship
Not only was SGU the best star gate shows I think it was one of the best sci fi shows ever made
@@johnsnow8186 Exactly, it was a far more adult show than SG1 and Atlantis - both of which I love, but both of which often dip into the camp territory that sometimes give Science Fiction a bad name - SG-U almost never did that. It was objectively a better series than its predecessors, even if it was often less "fun". Brad Wright went on to create the astoundingly good series Travelers, which whilst a very different series to SG-U, shares some of the same themes, tone and intellect (it too was cancelled, after 3 seasons - but did at least have a proper ending). Unfortunately SG-U didn't get a lot of love from Stargate fandom as they saw it as a usurper to the much beloved Atlantis, and I think it was perhaps a little too adult for some to view as a family show which probably also hurt its ratings.
Well said 😎👍
Just got done watching the series again. Really hate how it ended. Was such a great series. Really would have liked to see a ending like Stargate and Atlantis. Would like to see Atlantis head back to the stars myself.
ok, this ship has been traveling thru the universe at thousands of times the speed of light, for 100's of thousands of years, and only visited 38 galaxies? The current theory of galaxy numbers put the amount of galaxies in our universe at a decillion galaxies. Yes that's a 1 with 33 zeros after it, As advanced as the Ancients were, you would have to assume there was more than one of them flying around.
The seed ships were doing the bulk of the work, Destiny was merely the research vessel, collecting and interpolating everything. Also, Destiny's mission required it to take things slower, as it was engaged in a long term research mission, to find the answer to the mystery of the pattern in the cosmic background radiation.
Actually, it was traveling around for 50 MILLION years; If you were listening. And it was also making thousands of stops. Well, the seed ships were, at least.
The writers were brilliant throughout all 3 shows. I figured sgu shutdown because the writers quit, or were out of ideas. Lol.
Yeah, the numbers do seem a bit off.
How about it had traveled to 380,000 galaxies (Rush got the decimal place wrong), all more or less in a straight line from Earth? If the ship had been traveling for 50 million years that would allow for over 130 years exploring/traveling per galaxy. Which is still a long time in terms of the show. (I seem to remember them traveling to several galaxies in the span of the show)
Personally I had thought the point of the ship was to pass beyond the horizon of the visable universe and thus be able to see more of the message in the background radiation. The seedships were estabishing a series of stargate to habitable worlds in case of problems at the same time allowing the ship to daisy-chain a link back to Earth. Concidering the time frame involved redundancy would be important.
I don't see why they would want to waste a lot of time exploring galaxies, the message in the background radiation is not going to be hiding on a planet. But the further they travel the more of the background radiation would be viewable.
@@therearefourlights6926 The ship served dual purpose, they intended to seed the universe with life anywhere that was ideal as well. I think you're right about reading the decimal wrong though, or how long destiny has actually been in space, I don't believe they ever clarified if it's records compensated for it's the time dilation it put itself in by traveling faster than light, if destiny saw itself at 50 million years old, perhaps the trip itself has actually taken 500 million years, if we think about it, Andromeda alone is 2.5 million light years away and Pegasus 3 and they were traveling FTL.
Not to revive an old thread, but it is assumed that Destiny's FTL drive is far slower than hyperdrive based FTL.
There are obviously no hard and fast numbers, but if you assume that Destiny is older than Atlantis then it likely has been travelling for 50 million years. If you account for time spent stopped for planetary scans, star refueling, etc; and you assume that Destiny is between 3 and 5 billion miles away from Earth you get an FTL speed of between 40-80x the speed of light. Still CRAZY fast, but not thousands of times the speed of light.
The entire Stargate franchise should be restarted with the first few episodes revolving around getting Destiny and a seed ship back to earth.
Then the new show could be based on teams seeding new worlds with stargates on a new gate network created and used by humans and their allies.
Use a pair of stolen Ori supergates to get the ships back to our galaxy.
What supergate are they supposed to steal? Isn't the only known supergate connected to a gate in the pegasus galaxy & being powered by a black hole?
Assuming the get it turned off somehow...
How are they going to get the supergates to the other side of the universe where the Destiny is?
Now they should come out with more movies. SG1. 😁
I never understand I a ship that advanced there should have been many auto repair systems, repair robots, cleaning systems, and automatic protection and combat systems. I would expect huge robot support structures and systems including ground support
I think there were various clues that was the case, but the Ancients planned to send a team to board the ship LONG before the Icarus team arrived! All of those things were depleted or eventually broke down, got destroyed or something. But that is why the Destiny survived so long. And there are also many systems and features which were not automated, but which had not yet been discovered/activated.
Well there were repair robots, they used them in the show to repair the engines and the large dome. Though those needed to be sent out in order to make repairs.
It is possible that the 2 they had in the show (I think it was 2) were "spares" and perhaps there had been more in the past that had automatically repaired the ship through other encounters, it is a very old ship so anything is possible, but that is just a thought I had on it.
CyphDK thank you I did not remember them. However that advantage there should have been more AI and robotic representations especially sense it was designed for the crew to leave and automatically function.
CyphDK They needed a rumba cleaner. That is what all the Star Wars bots were for
It wouldn't need it, the only part of that ship that needed to survive in order for the ancients to utilize it's purpose is the gate itself and the information it gathered (their version of a black box), they could do as the ORI did, and dial the small gate to send through a super-gate and then just send a new ship when they were ready to make the trip.
This ship alone could be a whole series before man got to it. Hell it created and seeded places with stargates...
That would be much better than Destiny hahaha, no crew just the ship going from planet to planet dropping off Stargate. I would watch 10 seasons of that!LOL 😆😆😆
@@StargateOmega exactly! Who needs people it would be so much better just the mission, planets, races and everything it comes across!
That actually would be pretty cool. Maybe some robots, that could add some humor and NO drama! That would be great '😎👍
It reminds me a bit of the Spelljammer, from the tabletop RPG and books
it never made sense that to me that they didn't go on a ZPM hunt so they could dial destinys gate and send supplies.
Where would the find zpms? That tech can way after it.
@@mattmattmatt6700 If they were dialing to destiny that would mean the zpms were coming from the milky way, the wormhole only goes one way so it would have to be from home to destiny to send supplies, the better question would be, if they sent ZPMS through, would they even be able to incorporate it into tech not designed for it.
@@user-ep8ns6hg4q you can dial destiny from anywhere but you need to use the correct point of origin so probably a challenge to use Å from a different galaxy. 3 zpms and atlantis could definitely manage it.
The music is too loud...
The SGU comic reveal a lot of new stuff. They dont stay in stasis long and the story get more interesting.
How do I read it
@@SonnyGamingYt readcomiconline has them
We need this show back they left us hanging
it's not necessarily solar powered. it's more like heat powered because you need to be within a close distance of a star for it to recharge it's power systems.
It actually collects stellar material for power generation: stargate.fandom.com/wiki/Destiny#Power_generation I'd guess the technology is basically a fusion generator, and that this power system was chosen due to the abundance of stellar hydrogen throughout the universe. In other words, they needed to make sure the _Destiny_ was compatible with as many gas stations (pun intended) as possible because it was going to go so far and for so long.
Nope,it's literally solar powered. It scopes up some of that star it's self, and goes into the sun.
Ahh yes. Lieutenant James! I miss you, stargate. You were the end of an age of inspiring tv shows; like Farscape, Seaquest, and The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. Now, all we have on tv, is Satan and death worship. I miss the the pre-nine eleven days.
Never had heard of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles before this mention.
@@spyder001 oh man! It was the best. Too short lived. You gotta find it.
@@thediplomasta5891 I'm gonna have to. I think the Indiana Jones drew alot in for many aspects.
I won't watch lucifer. They try to make satan a good relatable guy. f that
@@TheIrishRushin Ya know whays5funny about that show? For being a show about Lucifer, it is the least blasphemous thing on TV right now. BUT, they say the name "Satan", and they never talk about Jesus.
So, your instincts are correct.
The first attempt to dial Earth did work, although only for Telford. The rest of the crew got sent back in time a few thousand years.
That was such a good story arc, I really wanted to see the rest of their people wherever they went to.
@@StargateOmega They came back to earth so almost all of them slept through the journey while other maintaining their ship. Going into sleep chamber every other month. These people would officers that do maintenance on critical systems. After 100’s of years they made it back to earth with only two survivors called Adam an Eve. Just like the story of the first human. They were actually their descendants from a long time ago. Meaning the humans of earth while made by the ancient they are actually their own ancestors a infinite loop that still goes on even in another time. Where they didn’t stop the first dialing of the gate in a star.
I like it, that's totally possible 😎👍
except where you can't save humanity with just 2 people making a few babies.
@@TheIrishRushin actually the Bible does say incest was the way the humans were made. The first generation of humans which came from Adam and Eve. Was where incest started and continued after the food happened. Moses I think the person name was. Him and his family re populates the earth. So incest was in the Bible. Only the churches made it seem it wasn’t incest. An we’re still having incest to this day even though we don’t know it. Our girlfriend and wives are actually our decent sisters from the Moses family line so it is possible just be a lot of incest involved. So don’t say it’s not possible cause it is. An please you weren’t rude but after reading this comment where I try my best to explain how two people can save the human race. Just don’t be rude about true you can’t have sex with a youngling which is sick if the older humans from long ago possibly did do but don’t be rude after reading and what I put before was a possible spin off of universe with the nova people.
Someone call Netflix to pick this show back up
Stupid Netflix they always drop the best shows😎👍
No worries, Hulu has it.
@@StargateOmega It's their business model. Because a great show will attract a lot of new subscribers, but after 2-3 seasons, not anymore, because the fans of the show are already invested in it and new ones don't really come. So they rather make a new show, that attracts new subscribers and so on, and on. Yeah, not the best for fans and so frustrating. I must admit, I would be ok, if they would ad commercials in after 2nd season of Netflix produced series, so it would be making money and great shows could go on.
Stargate Universe was my favorite show of all time.
Another interesting and enjoyable episode even though you did repeat yourself a lot this time.
I think Destiny had a lot of possibilities if it had continued. Several actors gave good performance including; Robert Carlyle, Elyse Levesque ,David Blue, Alaina Huffman, and especially Ming-Na Wen.
The fact that the 1st season was pretty bad should not have surprised anyone. Most sci-fi series start off poorly. Every Stargate and Star Trek series was like that. The biggest exception was probably Battlestar Galactica reimagined.
BTW have you done a vid on the Furling? I could not find one and they always fascinated me, they were such a mystery.
Have a great day and God bless you my brother. PS I'm sorry I did this series backwards.
That Destiny got pretty good towards the end . I hadn't thought about doing a furling one, I'll see what I can do. That's pretty funny idea!😎
Theory: the signature the ancients found within the background radiation is the energy signature of ascendet beings, since those exist kinda omnipresent as energy and could be there at the dawn of time. That would also make a nice timeloop paradox on a very large scale
I like that 😎👍
At least it had a type of ending. So many programs just stop and leave you hanging.
Music sounds like star wars
Ship looks like a medieval battle axe 🪓
Could you please watch your music volume. The music makes hearing you very difficult
That's for the feedback. We were having trouble finding a microphone that would work with my computer at the time. We got it working now. Have a great day! 😎👍
Really like this video but the background music is a bit too loud
Wake up Destiny!
If nobody noticed the Stargate from Stargate SGU is like a rotary phone and the Stargate from Stargate SG-1 is like a flip phone and the Stargate from Stargate Atlantis is more like a modern-day touch screen cell phone
Holst! I am too distracted by the excellent choice of music to listen to your speaking. lol
Thank you!😆😆😆
A DECODE of Destiny history is one likened to that of the Ascension of man, pre-ancient timeline, creation, attributes, potential and probabilities coded in allegory. Strikingly is Destiny recovery of systems as related to current timelines... even down to dust, genes, sequencing, militarizing of energy, chakras as stargates, wormholes, fields as portals and transport systems, with ability to access and download light codes.
The dual competition of AI and the Ascension quest. ...ummm
Très beau
Backround music too loud.
Destiny was powerful indeed but she was no warship more a research vessel
Agreed 😎👍
It's a pity they didn't go for another season, I thought the show was only getting started. Surely scripts were being written with endless possible scenarios, as is the universe, so it's shame none were able to tickle the money men's fancy, as that is the only reason they wouldn't give it another go ahead. Robert Carlisle played an amazing character, but I felt they never used his full potential as an actor.
The Asgard ships in 6.12 went from the Milky Way to Ida galaxy in 3 hours. 2.5 Mly distance. Pegasus is 3 Mly.
If the Destiny is, lets just say 10 Billion Lightyears away. (Quote from series " several billion lightyears from earth")
10,000,000,000
÷
2,500,000
= 4000
4000
x
3 (hours)
= 12000 hours
12000
÷
24
= 500
500 days to reach the same distance the Destiny has in millions years. Honestly the Destiny seems like it was a early endeavour long forgotten by the ancients, considering they were meant to be at least as if not more advanced than the Asgard.
Argard's history is 100,000 years old, so they didn't even exist when Destiny began his journey. Just like in the series, Rush said the journey is more important than the destination because the mystery needs pieces of the puzzle one by one. If some pieces are missing, you may not be able to complete the puzzle.
Just get Atlantis with 3zpm can just uses the wormhole drive and pickup destiny
I always thought the Ancients didn’t put too much research into FTL because they relied so heavily on the stargates, so the Asgard had better FTL even though overall the Ancients were more advanced
@@battlesheep2552 And the asgard had gotten gates from the ancients, so they had no need to research gate technology only FTL. Sharing technology for the ancients and asgardians was more about proving yourself as a species rather than just being an advanced civilization, since they were all part of the same alliance based on mutual admiration and respect they had no reason to withhold technology from one another.
I Soo want the whole story from beginning to end...

How would you do a reboot of Stargate Universe?
I was waiting for this after i suggested it lol
Excellent suggestion! I just got done rewatching the SGU series I wanted it to be fresh LOL
I love all the stargate shows and movies...the original that started it all...and i really liked the ark of truth(knew i would)....and i also really enjoyed continuum(wasnt so sure on that one till i watched it)...sg1 is my fav show...and 1 of my top 10 fav shows ever!!! I also really liked stargate atlantis although i wish after dr. Weir left that colonel carter woulda stayed as expedition commander for the rest of the series instead of woolsey(i liked his character but woulda preferred carter) taking over for the final season...i also enjoyed stargate universe...i will admit it took about 3 or 4 episodes after the premier(loved that 1) to really get into it...and it coulda been just as good as atlantis...but there was 1 big problem i dont think the showrunners anticipated...at that time the stargate franchise was suffering from "lag"...just like star trek...and how star trek enterprise was cancelled after only 4 seasons...and it is my fav star trek so far(just started discovery and picard)...people were just not as into it as they once were...too many years of sg1 and atlantis back to back plus reruns all the time on syfy and some other channels...had they waited...universe woulda been a hit...but they didnt and we got what we got...i dont like the end with em going into stasis and eli having to stay back...i wish that netflix/amazon/hulu/hbo max/cbs all access/peacock...any of the streaming platforms would bring out at least a 2 part mini series to tie it off better!!!! Like how they ended the ori angle in sg1 with the ark of truth film and the baal story in the continuum film...heck id be happy if syfy did a 2 or 3 part mini series for stargate universe to end it right!!! Like they did w/ farscape in farscape: the peacekeeper wars...i loved that show and mini series...they do need to give us a good ending....i also would like a decent ending to the nbc show "revolution" created ny eric kripke....same person created supernatural...its been since they ended both stargate universe and revolution and im still angry about it!!!! And constantine...why would nbc put it on fridays at 10 pm??? Why the friday night death slot...i feel they didnt want it to succeed...and it wouldve...i believe it wouldve on Friday night's if given another season!!! But at least we got him in the arrowverse and mainl on legends of tomorrow....and the same actor also!!!! I doubt anyone could play john constantine the way matt ryan has...even looks like him!!!
It took me 2 complete watch thoughts to like SGU.😎👍
Not sure if that star gate was among the 1st. I mean they had to test stargates 1st right? I think they're probably at least 2nd generation. Milky way stargates 3rd & Pegasus galaxy 4th gen
I wonder how many seed ships there are. . .Just a few? Dozens? Hundreds?
Great question! There would have to be a considerable number of them, to drop gates in several galaxies. 😎👍
@@StargateOmega Yes. Thanks for replying!😃
Hey my pleasure Mega Noname!😎👍
Instead of doing another Star Gate. They should do the ancients star gate instead. Go back in time to formation and building out of the star gates. The struggles they had the species they met and had conflicts with. And to end it.. they figure out how to ascend while at the same time sending Destiny out with a small crew to investigate the mysterious anomaly at some future date. Change it from Star Gate command to the real origins the gate builders and their struggle to survive. Keep in mind the final few episodes of the series before you start the series so it can ended well and not end up like SGU in a cliff hanger... where a lot of folks wanted more. SGU was designed to grow over time.. not be an instant hit. I figure these directors and producers want something instant instead of building out a franchise over time.
That is a fantastic idea! I would so totally watch that!😎👍
Hows this, eli gets some bad news and goes rouge by dialing earth while in the sun,and steps through the original earth gate 50 million years ago ?;) we know that its possible so yeah ha
That sounds like a Stargate Universe spin-off off that I would watch! LOL😎👍
Wait if it was built for a crew of 1000 how were only exactly 70 chrio pods only left working. I know cause it was in the script, but still
It was built before the Titanic Lifeboat rule came into play. This ship was deemed Unsinkable. LOL.😎👍
After a million years it’s more surprising that the number of functional stats is pods wasn’t zero.
Dude that's what the Stargate Universe needs...lIke Stars Wars has theirs: an animated series!
definitely an animated series done like the clone wars would be great. They did do an animated series called Stargate Infinity, I think but it wasn't really that good.😎👍
Great information on the ship. The series should have looked more at the ship tech and hidden rooms discoveries more than the relationships with its terrible crew
Hahaha you got that right. It could have been a great show.😎👍
The History of the Destiny...stops and wipes dirt from his eyes, yawns and he still feels sleepy and he said in his mind...WTF am I saying...then continues LOL!!!
Hahahaha that is exactly what happened lol😆👍
Stargate Omega Woot!!! Hahaha :)
It was a long night lol😆😆😆
Thanks for putting it all together but maaaan try to put some soul in your voice, reduce the music and try to get a better audio input when recording...
Hey I got better equipment and more soul now loll. But I moved this show to my main channel omega ordained a few months ago 😎👍
Something doesn't add up... 50,000,000 years ago the Destiny was launched from Earth during that time it crossed 38 galaxies. During the 2 years of SGU Destiny crossed much of one galaxy, crossed the void to another and got through almost half of that galaxy.
There has been talk of new stargate show.....I know they won't but I think they shouldn't even think about telling any other story until they finish this one
This was a ship (and show) that never made sense.
Atlantis is over 2 million years old as it departed Antarctica that long ago. They had the Ancient gene activation tech and the tech in "today's" Atlantis matches the tech at the Ancient outpost in Antarctica. IN SPITE OF THIS....
Real space FTL rather than hyperspace...explainable only if the ship is intended to trace "the signal" while in flight at all times (not possible in hyperspace).
Stargates MORE PRIMITIVE than Milky Way models...which are newer?
No crew but has been in flight for MILLIONS of years with no crew or apparent way to perform maintenance and repairs. Since Ancient technology isn't self-repairing nor so durable it doesn't suffer damage, the only explanation would be an auto-repair system...which is never mentioned or indicated in SG Atlantis canon.
Then you have a "crew" of people so dysfunctional that arguably they would never have made the cut to be in the SGC to begin with.
Too much effort to appeal to the wrong crowd and a lack of attention to detail when designing the story line.
the comics which provide a lot of the "lore" regarding the timings, is awful. If that stuff is ignored the timings make a lot more sense. In regards to the damage, the ship was presumably more advanced than all other tech it encountered, so taking minimal damage which only became severe over time, and it just so happened that the icarus crew arrived potentially near to the end of destinys life. in regards to how disfunctional the crew is, it would have been like living in hell for them, constant danger and struggle, lack of sunlight or proper food and stress would explain most of them, as well as them being scientists too. most of the military coped better than the civilians
@@legopatbuilder in one episode the crew use a ROV type repair bot to fix a engine is it possible that the crew of ancient was supposed to use said devices to repair destiny regularly once on board
I NEVER EVEN HEARD OF THIS SHIP BEFORE, it is AMAZING THE HIGH TECH SYSTEMS IT HAS, ON IT. FOR IT TO BE SO AINTIANT.IM REALLY FEELING THIS SHIP.
This is the main ship from Stargate Universe. It only had two seasons the first season was pretty bad but the second was really good
Stargate Omega did not know this. ile check it out.
I may need to give Stargate a second look.
I found Stargate Universe and I used DVD Bargain Bin at the gas station for $5 for the first season. Like I said though the first season is really bad. SG-1 is still Supreme with its 10 seasons and 7 of them are really good LOL
at least there was a mid finale with the comics
They need to redo SGU I want to watch Stargate not Battlestar
I completely, and totally agree. It was a very interesting premise, but the Battlestar Galactica film style, and super drama was horrible.😎👍
Bring it Back
I was so pissed when they canceled this show. Shows today get way less viewers and they get renewed for multiple seasons.
i came here to learn about the ship from stargate but i have not seen stargate universe i refuse to watch a show with no ending
Yup I feel you. They gambled the fans would some how get them another season or movie and lost.
with all the reboots happening now they should just make a movie now to end it 10+ years later and the views on that will show if they should reboot another show
That would definitely get a ton of viewers 😎👍
Good lord, make the background music even louder. I can barely hear the guy.
A little less loud music would make it easy to follow your narration.
First thing is destiny has an additional dialing thing connect to a planet with that same type of dialing thing cuz no other Stargate can connect to it because they're different do you think you can make a phone call from a phone to a sonic wave communicator no you can't the two different things just like the Stargates are two different things destiny has a Stargate then all other Stargate and the only left a few behind and which was actually set it when the first ships left and set the stargates on different planets make a new phone numbers for each one only be able to connect to those ships and those planets. SO2 for them to call back home they got to find another planet the has the same Target that is on destiny with extra shenron but every time someone finds one of those they call destiny and go to destiny. But good thing is there's at least fifty of them in the Milky Way galaxy and the Andromeda Galaxy because as they left they sent Gates down in certain planets all over the ten or twenty ships that left and they pretty much follow a similar path from one another just not the same path meaning there many of those Stargates in each Galaxy they went through but I don't know if destiny put down Stargates as well and if it does what you told once means there is another ship that is behind them yet that is traveling on a similar path praise looks the exact same as they are in destiny with another ship two years behind it. One of the first shows showed that of sending out another Stargate onto a planet as it was about to leave that spot to go to nother spot some who knows how far away. Which also means there is another ship the ancient had sent to take the same or similar travel through the stars and that there are many more ASL in front of it that are still setting Gates down plants and maybe moons . And it is one way for the ancients to plant life throughout the universe. Because they started in one Galaxy that came Milky Way galaxy started at there and then went to Andromeda galaxy and started it thier. So every place that the ancients gone they created more life in the last ones recreate it was the rath . I don't know which ancient decided to creates them but the other ancients regretted that and if they would have entered destiny they would have been keep creating life father and father out as a gone. And besides if they built another ship like that that's following destiny some ancients may be on that or their children because not all ancients were part of building those ships. Just like Earth is not all one Nation there are many different nations many different nations that do many different things temperature of the ancients had it the same way.
50 million years but only 38 galaxies away? I gleaned none of that from my viewing. It seemed no more than around 3 million years old and several billion light years would be thousands of galaxies away.
I guess you're right, think about how far destiny traveled in the time the TV show was on
Destiny is a annunaqi ship
Looks like a sting ray
Unable to watch due to music.. Horrendous.
and....The chair....?
The ship looks like tesla logo, i guess it is another thing elon liuched into space after he did not need it anymore :-D
Hahaha😆😆😆 that's good right there😎👍
Star Gate One ran out of story Line. Fans were still there.
That's more technical stats than history.
Could you lose the background music, or turn it down. It is a useless distraction. The people who watch this is already in awe of the content.
Never ever use music like that again!
I don't know....😎👍
Dunno it reminded me of a game - "Escape Velocity Nova" :)
No the reason why they didn't enter the ship is not because sentient it is because maybe some of them grew old and died and because of all the different wars from the three different galaxies and other things that happened Ascension k many many many years later and many generations later and when they built that ship I'm building an Andromeda system they built it like maybe ten thousand years before it may not be ten thousand years before that just but many many many years before that several generations before that Eleanor generations might of not known about it without going through ancient old computer documents. And yes Atlantis was there first and that ship was kind of like a Xscape but they had ran from one galaxy to the Milky Way galaxy somehow started life there are many different areas and then they move to Andromeda and seated life there when they ask you should have been have gone to destiny instead of going to the Andromeda Galaxy like I said they forgot all about it.
The drama killed the show. The body swapping relationship and family stuff with earth was eye roll including enough even for hardened stargate fans to turn right off
Ffs turn the music down 🤪
Sorry about that, we'll fix it in post.😎👍
Explain to be so massive now it ends up being so small they explained as if it was so long it'll take a year that go all the way from the back to the front or in this case is said to take a few days to walk it from one side to the other side of his illustrate hallway I watched some of it it's one show that should have not it's one show they should bring back finish the show I mean it should go at least 8 to 11 seasons.
I lost interest in this show when the ship's medic performed a kidney transplant using only knowledge from an ancient laptop. That really strained credulity for me.
who says the ancients don't know how to transplant kidneys???
@@benNdaKen Yes, but she had NO surgical experience. Reading about something and doing it are completely different things, especially surgery.
@@millertj27 true but who knows maybe she had minimal training nut was I wonder is how can she read ancient
Oh 50,000,000 years.right.
Missing Film
I know this video is a old at this point, but I don't think destiny was meant for the ancients, having navigation and advanced power locked behind their genes would imply they intended for some form of ancients to be aboard, but that the crew itself would most likely be another species (humans in this case), it's possible the destiny was sent out for us not them.
That's an interesting thought 😎👍
Maybe next time you can write a better script and not repeat what you had already said. Otherwise a good video
I stopped watching when you said Marine "corpse".
Sorry about that. 😎👍
Too bad. More marines are corpses than living.
I always get frustrated with "illiterate RUclipsrs" too lol not literally illiterate but you know what I mean. Common examples include CALVARY, EPPY TOME, PHENOSHENS, EXPRESSO ahhhhh
Where is the history?
They always get the usage of time so wrong, 50 million years ago vs 1million or what ever they think is cool
Dude, Marine Corps is pronounced "Core". Seriously? Have you never encountered any reference to the Marine "Core"?
Sorry about that, some times I don't ketch the errors.
feet what is feet ____???
You sound like a geography teacher
Hahaha thank you😆😆😆
@@StargateOmega no worries, in my experience they tend to be some of the wiser people out there even if they do tend to put you to sleep lol
What is this music :) speak louder! haha
Less "history" and more "stats"
