You probably dont care but if you are stoned like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all the new series on instaflixxer. Have been watching with my brother for the last few days xD
Simplicity at its finest. The Revolution is shaping up to be one hell of a great design. You're doing a damn good job and hopefully I can get to building mine soon. I've got a few things to rearrange and setup in the barn when health cooperates. Cheers Buddy
Man I needed this video like in a bad way. I had built my own 2x72 grinder about a year ago and although it was my first foray into welding I think I did a decent job although the welds look horrible. In any case I have been having the hardest time getting the tracking right. Can't tell you how many knives I have made over the past year and always have to straighten out the plunge lines with good old hand filing. This is even harder and more time consuming when making my camp choppers. I watched this video last night and when I saw the part about having a bolt at the top of the tacking mechanism that allows you to rotate the whole tacking assembly forwards or backwards it was like a light went off in my head. What??? I thought I had everything lined up but apparently not. I got up this morning and remade my whole tracking assembly. Had to make a few modifications since I didn't have any 1/2" plate lying around but I can tell you this made all the difference. Just rotating it forwards or backwards just every so slightly can correct a misalignment if all your wheels are not exactly perfectly lined up. Thanks for this video. Saved me from taking the whole dang thing apart and starting over.
@@HouseMadeUS thank you for getting back to me. I ended up finding your alignment video and that basically answered all my questions. It is now my set-up bible.
Would the proposed rotating tracking mechanism allow the existing tracking wheel adjuster bolt to still work? I would say you would be twisting the bolt in the threads. I don't know if this makes any scene.
Yeah it still works, the threads are in the tracking arm not in the mechanism, so the mechanism can move freely but once the bolt is locked down it stays put.
House / Work Sorry I just got home about 10 minutes ago. Yes I did thank you again and now to get metal ordered to get tomorrow after work. That will make it so much easier. Thank you again.

brilliant video a bullet proof unit that would survive ww111 good build as well what size contact wheel are you running it looks to be about 160 mm dia and what is the fastest belt speed you can run in meters per second please

hi Dude, regards from Chile, I get your instructable and looks perfect, howeaver this tracking wheel mechanism has not been added on the Kit and the DIY manual bought some hours ago, I appreciate your support with the current sizes to do that, regards!
Where did you get the finger grinder? I found some on Amazon, but don't know which one would be best. They range from cheap, to a little more than I want to pay.lol

Some read various information on the Internet and say that it is necessary to have an average speed of at least 24-35 meters per second of the tape. What type of wheels and diameter do you recommend for my engine? Thanks in advance. N: B: I'm sorry if my translation with Google is incorrect, but I hope you understand. "
We are working on a tracking hinge. It uses different thickness of steel so we have to buy a whole lot to make them cost effective. Small start up issues really.
I push the bit down past the piece on the backside and used a digital level to gauge where I am at. Got it the first try but that could have been luck. 😂
I couldn't be MORE PROUD of our son . . . You are incredible!! Keep Going !!
Thanks Dad. 👊🏻😁

Very nice sir! Looks great. Awesome DIY tracking and easy to understand.

Awesome addition to the grinder, Brian!

Pretty cool. Thanks for the demo of how easy it can be with basic shop equipment!!
Thanks David. 😁
You have both the mind of an engineer and fabricator.
Hey thanks brotha. That’s a great compliment. I truly appreciate that. 😁🙏🏼

Thanks Derek. It’s simple and works!! Which is the goal for the entire build. 😁

Thank you Yücel! Hope you’re happy and safe. 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻

also how to you know how to set the angle of the mechanism (align) seeing as you only have one hole and it wont bolt in square..
I use a speed square to line it up and adjust as necessary afterwards.

Thanks Bill. Hope you’re doing okay buddy.
Ever try just chucking the tap in the drill chuck and just power tapping it? I do this all of the time on my Bridgeport.
Yes I have done this, but my mill doesn’t spin freely by hand (very easily) so this works better for me. One day I’ll have a Bridgeport. 🙏🏼
I used a mill to make the part worked beautiful

@@HouseMadeUS just finished my 2x72 grinder I want to build a second one for my home
I’m thinking a tad less crown on that track wheel would chill that speed/direction wobble out.
Yeah I’m definitely in the less crown camp now too. I get less wobble just like you said. 👊🏻😁

Not sure I follow what you’re asking.
House / Work where the tracking bolt touches the plate with the wheel on.
Have you watched the tuning video where I demonstrate this type of mechanism? ruclips.net/video/DaOH322WRto/видео.html
Do you have a drawn out plan with measurements hole sizes and tap or bolt sizes we can purchase to make this?

If using plasma or water jet to cut the metal out is easier, cleaner and more precise, then why not offer it in the bundle package?

how much are the plans
$25 - www.HouseMade.us
Simple yet effective thanks again hey just a quick question did you find anything good about that cheaper VFD?
Not yet. I’m working on that this week. 👊🏻
an "entire day" ? Was that a 24 hour day or just one of those 8 hour work days. Either way it seems to be a very slow process for such a simple part.
I guess I’m not as smart or efficient as others. It’s my process.
Just curious, why not put this in the Ultimate Build Pack? Couldn't add much to the price I wouldn't think. It would be nice to have laser cut parts.

My problem is drilling the axel hole straight
Do you have a drill press?
Yes but its an old one,I got mine built similar to that one acouple of years ago on the sayber OSG but i ruined a few before i got a straight hole
I push the bit down past the piece on the backside and used a digital level to gauge where I am at. Got it the first try but that could have been luck. 😂
My quill wanders a bit so it keeps me on my toes so to speck but i manage to get things done

That is a mistake in my opinion.
The axis should not swing out but only tilt.
