Half-Life changed my life, I remember being a young kid and playing this on my Celeron 400MHZ over clocked to 700MHZ. I became a gamer because of this series. Just bought it off of steam for $5 last night and can't stop playing it. There is a remake called Black Mesa using the newer engine and I hope they make the newer series like Blue Shift and opposing force, will gladly pay full price. I believe no game is worth it's full price except this series and Farcry & Crysis.
Dimitrios F I know this is an old comment but there is a mod team working on remastering both Blue Shift and Opposing Force in the Source engine. Look up Guard Duty and Operation Black Mesa.
I always prefered this one over HL1. something about the gameplay, the new weapons and expanded worldbuilding. Adrian is definitely among my fav HL protagonists
Dude i liked OP so much probably even more than the OG game it had a lot of variety of weapons and cool stuff and that awsome teleport gun that teleports you to random locations in xen and that barnacle graple gun omg they nailed it
i agree. but you know what's a shame? Opposing force is shorter than the original Half-life game. even Blue Shift is short, though i don't know if Decay is also short but i think the reason why the other half-life games are short is probably because Valve didn't have enough ideas for Xen and stuff

Without OP4 the HECU would not be nearly as loved today and, personally, I wouldnt appreciate nameless grunts in stories nearly as much.

According to the storyline, Black Ops got their orders to destroy the facility and eliminate everyone who remains behind (In Opfor we missed our fly home -Thanks G-man). Up to this stage they weren't foes. The actual Black Ops (Not female assassins) came in later stages.
If you blinked for a moment during the trailer, you would miss the few Xenians that appear in it, hehe. Actually HL and HL: OPPOSING FORCE're my favorite pieces not only of the franchise, but also of the world of video games. I played the OF Demo a lot of times hoping to've the complete game until 2010 when my dream came true. Great memories!!! I HAVE TO PLAY IT AGAIN!!!
Half life 1: uplink (gordon), blueshift (where you are a security guard) and this one (opposing force, u r a military) all of ths three are the first part of this game; they are like different ¨chapters¨. There is also HL 2 and it's episodes

Not many games now have that, because they usually do it for money.

1- yea its called the displacer, u cant instant kill many guys (slow tho) or warp urself to xen. 2- after u kill ur first shock trooper, the shockroach will be left and jump to u, ull get it as a weapon, but the next shockroach will atack u 3- its supposed to be a black ops one...
@SladeForelly Probably not, because most of the Humans that are in Half Life 2 were children during the Resonance Cascade and Seven Hour War. And the odds that any that remained living that weren't children and were also HECU are very low. We only have a 100% that Shephard is alive and apart of the HECU. And agreed, Shephard needs to make some form of a comback.
