Riders should have to upload a profile picture just like drivers if the rider trying to get in your car doesn't match driver should be able cancel trip and get cancel fee.
If Uber is interested in preventing crimes against drivers, they need to start proactively assisting law enforcement in prosecuting riders who commit crimes against drivers.
If a driver (or first responder or next of kin) reports being robbed, physically attacked, unlawfully detained, kidnapped, sexually assaulted, shot at, shot or murdered, Uber should be immediately contacting the appropriate police department to provide passenger information and any other data such as location tracking to help detectives identify, locate, apprehend and prosecute the offenders.
Uber’s current policy seems to be to hide, stall and resist when contacted. There are many recent accounts given in the news of drivers and law enforcement getting the run around from Uber when trying to solve a case.
Obviously there is no deterrent effect associated with this policy, so offenders not only get away with the crime, they are free to continue to attack drivers with no fear of prosecution.
If Uber actively participated in these investigations instead of stalling until they are compelled to cooperate, the headlines and word on the street of Uber offenders going to jail, would lead to potential offenders deciding attacks against Uber drivers were too risky.

Good start. They need to stop allowing totally made up names too. Almost EVERY time I pick up "Big Daddy" or "Queen Bee"...almost guaranteed to be a crappy ride...with no tip! 😝 They also need to make it VERY clear on the offer if the driver is ordering a ride for someone else! It's buried behind screen taps that are dangerous when driving. I hate showing up looking for a "Rebecca", and some sketchy dude walks toward my car. Or vice-versa! These should be basic pieces of information for drivers. 🤷🏻♂️

I've seen nothing on verification on my rider or driver account.
Good start, and we are also expecting to fix our payments.
In NC, account holders are still booking rides for different people to be picked under there name. So verification is useless when riders keep doing this.
Uber needs to have code built for riders and drivers phones to do a 'hand shake' within 2ft to make things locked in because then the phone would need to be there for ride to commence and then the verification will be truly valid.
Also, we as drivers still do not see pics, the rider knows they have up loaded their DL (as they told me) but ive not seen any verification logo saying they are verified.
Verification of account holder is necessary, but I don't think it will work well for Rider's pick up, because some Account holders book rides for someone else.

When a driver cancels a ride due to either underage riders or riders with babies or toddlers without child seats, it doesn’t count against an Uber driver’s cancellation rate. When a driver cancels due to safety issues it goes against the drivers cancellation rate. What would go a 2:21 long way to driver safety would be not counting a “ not safe to pickup “ on a drivers cancellation rate.
Beyond the Dash Cam also use Uber’s audio recording of rides. It another layer of leverage.
ive had more problems with snotty entitled people than someone that is unverified so to say.....oh wait thats what rider ratings are for...and obviously chad with a 3.58 rating is still allowed to use the platform.

This is easily one of the most important things for drivers. Also, let us protect ourselves and exercise our second amendment rights by carrying. Dara would never send his family to drive unarmed and without rider Id..

I don't see a difference. Alcohol is cause for 90% of the problems. I'm sure there are a select few incidents that this will help, but in the real world, it's mostly irrelevant.
