    It seems this senator's intention is good, but he has no idea how rideshare business works. By the time Uber and Lyft have their chances with him in negotiations, not much will change. He has no idea about upfront fares. It's obvious he is not talking to a real driver in this bill

    • @chiirp
      @chiirp 26 дней назад

      Same concerns. The bill establishes a governing body of oversight into pay transparency and allows drivers to file civil lawsuits - I’m over here screaming that we are independent contractors and I want them called out for this blatant misclassification when drivers are working 50-60 hours as their sole income + setting our pay / price - you can find the Colorado TNC Transparency bill by googling SB 75

    We need to know where we’re going to pick up passengers and where the passengers are going beforehand and also we as drivers need to know how much we’re getting before we accept the trip not after the trip is complete. This is total fraud because they know if if they told us how low these fairs are, we wouldn’t take them and if it’s a place we don’t want to go to, we can decline right away. Telling us the trip is 25 minutes and 5 minutes away is completely unacceptable and is total deception. Uber knows exactly what they’re doing and how bad they’re screwing us drivers over.

    The passenger definitely needs to know what we are getting paid

    With upfront fares, I lost 20% per day. Plain and simple.
    We need this in Nevada, especially Las Vegas.
    LAS is a “cash cow” for the rideshare companies.
    Tourists don’t have cars, hospitality workers can’t afford one.
    How do they get around? RIDESHARE!!

    I like the idea of transparent upfront fares where the passenger can see their total fare detailed to show how much is actually going to the driver and vice versa.

    I drive for a rideshare company and on my phone(android)i can't see all the info of the destination or how far i'm going until after i accept it and see it in on the gpps. Also, i don't understand why i cant use google maps or wave. I have to use the gps in the rideshare app, which sucks. And also in my area where i work when i accept a fare it says its in my city but can be up to 45 min away from my city. If i would have known that, i might not have accepted it.

    I remember when Rideshare used to be an exiting and enjoyable job because it use to pay good and drivers use to see this job as long term job and as a career now Dara and David has turned this Job into a nightmare and a tragedy and has hired everybody at the begining drivers where proud of been an Uber and Lyft driver and where driving pretty nice cars and providing a exceptional customer experience for the passangers and service now drivers are driving old broken cars, working like slaves, dress un properly and not caring of giving not a even a bottle of water to the passanger or anything and drivers don't want to work this job anymore this job has become like a nightmare they don't want to buy new cars or spend any money to do this job cause simply the CEO doesn't care. When is Dara gonna take some responsibility for his bad decisions and the fall of this company and it's own workers and drivers.

    I got one question . . . When you accept an Uber reservation, Uber specifically states rides will be guided to the reservation location, vis a vie “destination mode.”
    But, in reality, rides offered are most often away from the reservation pickup, so I have to decline it and lose a fare!
    Why is that? Why since I complained about it, TO UBER, don’t I get reservations?
    This time LAST YEAR, I would 2-3/day.
    Now, I get nothing! Why?

    • @davidschneider2258
      @davidschneider2258 26 дней назад +1

      Uber usually offers me no requests for an hour or more if I have a reservation. I rarely take them because of this.

    • @williamlturnley282
      @williamlturnley282 26 дней назад

      @@davidschneider2258 Not for me. My last reservation (for $10+), was set and I was heading that way, then I get a $20+ ride totally in the other direction from the reservation. So, sure I cancelled the reservation and took the $20+! It left me off in a better place anyway. I called support at Uber and told them, " . . . what's your app' doing? I thought when you had a reservation. it was supposed to be like "Destination Mode;" rides taking me TO the pickup. Not away!" Come to think of it, Destination Mode never worked as well with Uber as it does with Lyft.
      Anyway, I got no where with support and don't get any reservations any longer either.
      Oh well. They usually pay pretty good when there's a big show, here in Las Vegas. Maybe I'll call them again now that the Stones are coming to town.

  • @chiirp
    @chiirp 26 дней назад +1

    I do see this as an important bill to establish pay transparency expectations and individual oversight and agency help when drivers are deactivated - ahead of another Minnesota it’s important the TNC are transparent about driver pay so we have the data. I want clarity on the WHY of this bill, and can I get a job at the new agency office 😅 Senator Priola stated Uber/Lyfts reasons for pays fluctuating as supply / demand which is interesting. My stand is on low pay and I want better communication channels with Uber / Lyft to negotiate my own rate. I’d love to see the apps funded by rider subscriptions and drivers bidding on calls. My rate might be different demanding on what I drive / level of service…while the drivers should unite for our industry as a whole, this model lets the cc drivers compete in the market and gives passengers more freedom of choice based on the car, service, price. Drivers can undercut or charge a premium and it might be a chaotic change but I’d love to see how this model could play out.

    Great interview Sergio. Thank you senator for your time. We need more senators willing to work for the people like Senator Priola. I hope something great comes out especially concerning driver pay and safety coz lately as a full time driver I wonder if the risk is worth it anymore. Mr senator you won’t believe that we get less than 50% pay on most rides my wish is to keep it atleast 70/30 of the rider fare, I don’t think any driver would complain about pay.

    • @sergioSMTMC1

    • @hirammulero4406
      @hirammulero4406 26 дней назад

      70/30 is too much. You know These companies will try to go higher than what you put on the table, always low ball them, like they do to us. 90/10 is perfect, they don't provide anything besides a software that is already paid for.

  • @MichaelD16
    @MichaelD16 26 дней назад +2

    The problem with rate cards is that drivers will intentionally take longer routes or take more time to inflate their pay and the passenger ends up paying more than they expected.

    • @MongPhu

      Not necessarily. Because we have GPS now.

  • @ConcernedCitizen-wj5cr

    Certainly a start, but Senator Priola was anything but impressive. "Have to do a book report but didn't read book" energy high there.
    Details will be really important in final law. No confidence, based on this performance, this will be good outcome.
    If God is in the details, Priola is an atheist.
