Uber also knows which riders are more likely to tip drivers based on historical data. For full time drivers that get shafted every ride based on upfront fares and Uber greed, uber attempts to throw drivers a bone every once and awhile by matching drivers with tipping riders to make up for their shit pay.
...ok. I'm not going to deny someone else's personal experience, and I can understand the sentiment, but c'mon. Let's not tout a personal anecdote as empirical evidence. If I wanted to make this claim in a protest against Uber's predatory tactics and am asked to back up my claim, saying "I have no firsthand experience or proof outside of a youtube comment I read" is not going to sway anybody.
Hey Sergio: I am a 5.00 driver and i do not get any reservations either. One I think riders are not using it as much as they have come to realize how much more the runs costs and yet they have to sometimes wait for a driver to show up. When I end up with one now it is because someone canceled and I happened to be in the area. Personally I think we all should have access to our profiles. Might be time to get a lawyer and look into that. This why Uber is accessing all the data on your phone. So they know what you are doing on all the Social Media apps and everything else. Bigger brother I am sure is watching big brother if you know what I mean.
Funny you say that. When I get a reservation it’s always 4 AM. And I’ve never ever worked morning hours. My personal belief is the algorithm doesn’t work very well at all. They have a long way to correct the many issues with it.
lots of reservations are for 4am for airports. people wake up early and dont want to forget, also knowing there are less drivers out there so they are making sure they get a car on time in the early hours. when i used to see reservations, they were all for areas i never even go to or even live near most of the time, and most of them were for very early morning hours. but, many drivers can see the same reservations.
Sergio. I know you can't do much but please make this public. I'm in LA and have watched all the comfort requests turn into Uber x. I asked the customers how much they are paying for minimum fare rides. Uber x is $10 and comfort is $16. While they pay drivers $3 and $5 respectively. Please tell the public what's going on. This is beyond...
there should be an option for uber to allow us to get our driver profiles. but they wont because im sure there would be some reason to sue them over it. sergio, i havent gotten a reservation in 18 months, unless it was dispatched to me at random. but under the reservation tab i havent seen on in 18 or so months now. and heres the thing, i accept 90 percent of those dispatched reservations because the pay is stupid high....i had one for $46 bucks for a 4 mile trip.
I got a really good reservation to the LAX Airport on Saturday evening. I don't know, when I get them, it does tend to be in Orange County, California. I don't get any in Los Angeles anymore. I think it just has to do with timing and demand in these areas that aren't as frequented by drivers. I got to the house exactly at the reservation time request and they were ready to go. It all went perfectly. But then I didn't want to get back because the queue is pretty much always full now unless you're a diamond driver with priority access. Whatever is rejected there is what I get. If I'm lucky.
I have cancelled multiple reservations both last minute and ahead of time but I keep getting them everyday. Almost 10 opportunities daily. May be the algo makes a lot of money from me😂😂
They used my address and race for sure! Today I dropped someone off in my neighborhood from across town I was upset because I don’t want anyone bothering me. For example saying hey are you driving Lyft today cause I was gonna need a Lyft ride and I can just use you and we can cut the app on at the same time or just pay you for a ride. like no! I am not anybody’s personal driver and I don’t want to pick people up from my apartment complex, seriously do not use my home address to base off giving someone a ride like I wanna drop people off and never see them again. In the nicest way I’m saying that
Hey Chris and Sergio, try not to talk over each other because sometimes both of you can't be understood, and it's not like you repeat what you say if you accidentally talk over each other. Thank you ❤
Regarding the hilighted part of the right side, it clearly says that those factors are being 'concealed', aka 'excluded', from the feedback data used to match for rider's preferences. So isn't that exactly what we want? for those protected class driver data to be hidden or 'concealed' from the algo factoring rider matches. ....
Sergio thats done by lawyers and engineers just to uber can cover themselves from any given lawsuit this are all policies and little thing for them to defend their selves in a court just like their contracts of arbitration which is abusive and enforced on drivers and drivers dont protest and tolerate this.
@@davidschneider2258 well if that were the case what happens to the majority of the people in the rental program? I’m sure Flexible rates isn’t what made them consider renting. CarMax vs Hertz…🤔 I’ll take CarMax.
What do you think about the matching algo?

@funnyvidz9682 you're responding to an Uber NPC.
Sending this to my representatives

Filtering by age, etc. for protected classes is illegal!!
i dont think it said it filtered by age it said included age
Hard to tell as the screenshots are too brief. I knew the algo was crazy good, but this is insane 😆
That’s one hell of a class action

That's why when you first start working for them the app doesn't stop giving you trips.

I'm a 4.99 driver, haven't got a reservation in too long. Would it help if I wasn't a legal citizen?
there should be an option for uber to allow us to get our driver profiles. but they wont because im sure there would be some reason to sue them over it.

6 yrs on uber never recieved a reservation cant even bid on them....4.96 rating 10,000 + rides 1% cancel 96 accept rate...go figure
While there are drivers like you accepting garbage they will not change, they see that they are doing good.
Shouldnt this be illegal?
It is illegal but the United States is ran by these dirty rat shit corporations so it ok.
Same thing for me in regards to reservations. All of a sudden I get 20 to 30 a night which lasts for 2 or 3 days then nothing. Wtf is going on.
I have cancelled multiple reservations both last minute and ahead of time but I keep getting them everyday. Almost 10 opportunities daily. May be the algo makes a lot of money from me😂😂

I'm not sure about that. 99% of the passengers I drive are a different race than me.
O, so THIS is why SO MANY Uber customers are complaining about long wait times! 😆

I’m 4.96 , I canceled reservations and I get reservations on most days
Profiling highly illegal
Remember the HUGE smile of the picture of Sergio and Dara? That's what's up
If they are able to make all these deductions before our pay.,...we should be able to make deductions before our pay / profit.

No its "concealed" from users on both sides, but obviously used to make algo decisions off of, otherwise there would be nothing to patent!

So if you have bad credit the algorithm will send you bad offers?
Uber may consider it as a deactivation factor. Bad credit of an associate is generally viewed as a liability.
