If our insurance hasn't gone up 300-400%, why are we to believe that their commercial insurance has ? Until they show actual billing from these said agencies, they're considered full of 💩
They need to clarify what they mean in their fare breakdown. They blame this all on government mandated commercial insurance on behalf of drivers, but then they explain this is not to cover individual drivers?!? Then who does it cover? That sounds like an UBER business expense. They claim this doesn’t cover individual drivers, yet they have calculated a specific dollar amount I owe them-again, for what? I burrowed through a lot of this and discovered in the sample Aon policy they provided that the only person who wasn’t mentioned as being covered for bodily injury is the driver! I can also tell you from personal experience that Uber will try to avoid any responsibility for anything and will not even exert a minimum amount of effort to provide assistance should you be involved in an accident EVEN WHEN YOU ARE NOT AT FAULT, EVEN IN PERIOD 3. I had a guy sideswipe me while I had passengers. His insurance company ghosted me and Uber explained their policy is that I need to file a claim on MY personal insurance and then Uber would compensate them. WHAT?! Would you trust Uber to make good on that deal? What are the chances my personal insurance cancels me? 100%. Why should I be forced to risk this for an accident that’s not my fault? My insurance is that I am old and broke. My ex-wife already took my house, She and my kid’s college polished off my 401. You know what my car is worth after doing this job for a couple of years. You can’t get blood from a stone..
I take the same trip as a driver to downtown everyday all day from the airport same miles and time. Same hotel. The commercial insurance is never the same and the more the customer pays like surge pricing. The commercial insurance increases also. It's a scam
Expenses up both car and commercial insurance up yet driver pay on a downward spiral. So ridiculous. Can't make a normal comment have been banned by this obviously lunny left channel. Cuz I said let the no habla da English have all the trash fares repeatedly! Unsubscribing bye bye.
How does commercial insurance consume 45% of the passenger fare in 2024 when only 2 years ago Uber’s entire cut was only 25% INCLUDING the commercial insurance?!
I had my own completely separate commercial insurance when I drove my own car for ride-share. Not a rides-share add on policy, a stand alone policy. It was $225 per month and I was averaging around $4500 pre-expense income. That was about 4.8% of my income and much less of the revenue generated from the rides.
Because Uber and Lyft aren’t actually applying that portion of the fare to pay for the insurance they claim. Every Black level driver knows this. It’s just a scam, there’s no transparency for a reason.
If you go online then disable the overlay. They then take up about somewhere between an eighth and a quarter of your screen. With the you have lost a status like dropping from gold to blue and it won't go off your screen
You hit the nail on the head Sergio. The Gig Economy has a zillion drivers with a fake account. The Gig Economy companies are raking it in with paying well below profitable rates for drivers with real accounts. It’s a matter of time that a tragedy will occur either because there will be drivers that don’t even have a driver’s license or have a serious criminal record. Meanwhile insurance companies will raise their premiums with the tacit knowledge of the age old racket of exploiting cheap labor…
We go something similar in Northern California. From Uber: What you need to know about insurance In California, about 33% of the customer price went towards covering government-mandated commercial auto insurance in July 2024 for rideshare drivers. Uber typically maintains government-mandated commercial auto insurance on rideshare drivers’ behalf with at least $1 million in liability coverage from the moment you accept a trip.
But wait, our regular insurance will cover if we get into an accident while the passenger is in the car and the rideshare company's insurance acting as a secondary layer of coverage SECONDARY???? I pay for full coverage to the tilt rideshare Insurance and then they take out money for this insurance that doesn't do shit! No major insurance companies turn down claims when it comes to accidents with Uber and left. I was told that you have your personal insurance when you're sitting there and driving around and when you're driving back right your insurance covers you during the times that the Lyft or Uber doesn't cover you so I'm assuming that would be two in coming back from pick up going to pick up and that regular insurance company will not pay if you get an accident while driving for Uber or left, That is what my understanding has been this whole entire time
So if i make $4000 a month I pay $4000 in insurance what a bs is it. If a make my own commercial insurance for my tcp i should pay no more the $1000 a month. So something is not making sense on uber and lyft.
Let's say they offer us the ability to get our own commercial insurance. I have no faith in their ability to keep their rates the same, and have most of the money that would go to commercial insurance come to me instead. It would be very easy for them to code into their platform that if you have your own commercial insurance your rate paid to Uber is higher.
As anybody connected Uber GPS to their Tesla to they want permission to all data not just battery percentage seems a bit suspicious if you don’t allow full access the app doing connect to your car. This is for the map to be on the car screen. Would love some feedback
@@rickorozco306 It’s kind of like your Miranda Rights. Anything you give them will be used against you. Count on it. Any kind of driving data Uber acquires will likely be sold to insurance companies for profit. Insurance spyware collects data that companies admit they retain for at least 10 years. If you are comfortable with the impact that data will have on your insurance rates and who knows what else, then proceed. Otherwise, do everything you can to block any company from accessing your app data. Don’t even get me started with what’s wrong with Tesla.
I asked Uber how much the Commercial Insurance makes per mile and they can't tell me. They don't have the number nor can they tell you. How can they not inform me(the business owner) of the rate?
It's more like 60% commercial auto insurance assuming that Uber is telling us the truth about their 25% take. If it's 45% then they're lying about how much money they're cut is and I think it's not a fixed amount, it's a variable percentage.
I don't want to pay ubers insurance, my insurance cost me 4500 dollars. Get this , all insurance company went to Intact Insurance, guess who covers uber insurance, you got it intact. I have to pay ubers and mine.
Of course this is the case. Uber is run by fascists who are more than happy to pay insurance executives driver pay and passenger fares. If you don't think the executive class is merely fascists stealing and horsetrading our profits, then you don't understand the way the American largess thinks and operates. The answer to the boss os always, always, always, "No. We the employees plan to make your lives a living hell until we maximize our profits." Your stance should be an unrelenting assault on your place of work, backed by the mass of the workforce who will not cooperate with anything less than getting everything from your company up to sending the whole enterprise into bankruptcy.
When I go online and work I expect Uber insurance covers me Not my personal insurance is covered me. Because Uber charges riders too much money from riders from $1000 to 2 and $3000 a month get a way cover me.
@robsrides5851 so I'm full time. Are you telling me that commercial ride for hire insurance is more than 2k a month. Because according to my statements average commercial insurance expense is $450-600 a week from Uber.

I say when the app is on, there should be zero deductible insurance coverage for the driver.

You've got to figure that if this is commercial insurance, this is by far the world's worst policy and marked up 300-400%!
All I know for sure is the drivers are only getting like 40 to 50% of the ride. I think Uber and Lyft are lying to all of us.

Why don't they cover the insurance on their end.

Law suites are definitely coming to Uber absolutely pissed 😡

Exactly why l stopped doing rideshare
Commercial insurance is only from Uber while you have a passenger in the car, even your rider is not covered.
If you want to protect yourself get your own rideshare insurance
No point doing any of these while keep doing rides. As long as people drive for Uber, they will keep doing whatever they want.
Uber charged me $28 per active hour last week.
Let every rider know!!!!!
mine said 33% in sacramento.
