It always amuses me whenever people say let them release the best game possible, yet Taleworlds is scared of people mentioning a release date; how is that they still do not have set a release date, at least for themselves?
Honestly it could be a revamped warband and people will hate how long they waited and still rank it 10/10 there's no game like it, The Viking add on was amazing story wise go beserker and stuff.
They probably have deadlines and goals for themselves, but as soon as they say a release date and they cant make it, then people will get angry. They're just playing safe, they will announce a release date as soon as they're 100% sure the game is ready
They could just re-release Warband with more functional UI and more flexible mod/workshop support and id be happy with that. I feel like they have wasted a lot of time on graphics that will just be out of date by the time they finally release it(which they have started over a few times). They can just release Graphics patches after release.
I've seen the newest 30 minutes or so presentation and they asked the CEO of Taleworlds for the release date, and once again, like pulling teeth, he gave the usual troubled response: he doesn't know when. And by the looks of his reluctance, I wager it will take another 1 or 2 years. As for the long presentation, it was really awkward. Taleworlds really needs a good PR because the CEO is not that articulate with his English. The footage was like the teaser trailer, nice but nothing really special. The game still looks like previous presentations so the wow factor is not really there. But Gamescom is just starting so hopefully Taleworlds has more surprises in store. I heard they have a "business" presentation coming up. I wonder what that is all about.
The wow factor is still their for me. Nice to see nice natural looking body movements. Not to mention the cavalry actually charge and dont feel like theyre running in molasses haha. But i get what your saying.
Pretty sure that they have mentioned that there is "criminal factions" aswell in the game.And by the way we've what we've seen so far as to how to recruit troops -> notice as you can "deliver demands" or is there anything I can do for you! the latter is the same type that you do for npc's in town and thus can get access to better types of units.I suppose its abit of an expantion upon what you can do in Warband if you have a very bad reputation(you can trade with bandit lairs(instead of attacking it), recruit banditparties for money etc)
Actually, if you stop the video at exactly 1:45, you will see that shoulder armor counts as "cape". I think that the cape slot is just the name for a slot in which you can fit shouder armor, capes or other similar thigs which you swing around your shoulders ^^

Have the devs mentioned anything about whether the game will come out for Mac or not? I've been waiting for it since it was announced, and if they don't release a Mac version at launch, considering the amount of time they're taking, I will be very disappointed.

I've figured it out guys, Mount and blade was the most innovative game, and head of it's time that too long! lol. Now I know why Mount and Blade looked so dated when it first came out. It all make sense, Mount & Blade had to have started development in the 1990. lol As with Bannerlord it will take them 18 years to complete the game, 6 years each for early, mid, and late game, which equals 18 years! How I have come to this conclusion is because they took "only" six years to finish the early game, so by the time Bannerlord is released, it too with look outdated. LOL
It is possible they are using a earlier build than the one that they use for trailers, to show working mechanics and such while the more updated version is bugged to hell. Better to show downgraded graphics than have a non functioning game, also this was a live stream with many hitches so it could have looked much better in person

Literally all the shit he point out here is just minor "quality of life" improvements and some minor features (other non aligned parties in the map.) This game is just what they did with fire and sword, they added a couple of things, but they released fire and sword what a couple years from warband? This game has taken 8-10 years???? No coop. No new game changing dynamics. Just a new streamlined UI and texture mod with too much bloom that makes it look like a amateur mod. This game is nothing but meh for me. I would have loved to play what they are showing here, it looks good. But its also 3-5 years too late. Its just warband with new paint.
Uhh... It's an entirely new engine. Everything has been remade from the ground-up to my knowledge. Yes, I agree that they have been dragging their feet on this but to call it "quality of life" improvements is REALLY selling it short.
Hopefully the game doesn't sell well. Other developers must be watching to see if hyping games up for several years is ultimately helpful or damaging to it. In buying this game on g2a so developers make no money off my purchase and encourage their behavior.

Capes are not historically worn in combat, because it's in the way most of the time. Capes are only pretty, nothing more.
We saw one in the 2017 Gamescom battle and I assume they will go on the shoulder slot
