Some of you may have heard this info before and im just speculating, not saying that bannerlord will definitely have co op or early access, hopefully you find the video interesting regardless, I just think I got a little excited as I really want co op but looking at comments with other valid suggestions has sort of dashed my hopes, also ive just finished recording another Hearts of Iron video and am starting to edit it now :D
You really are a die hard single player fan aren't you. When I think coop I just think, well, we have multiplayer servers populated with 100+ players. Then again, I'm a die hard multiplayer fan. Difference in what both of us get out of the game. I'm going to contradict myself though, I'd love to see coop, you always have that one friend or brother you'd like to campaign with!
I'm pretty sure "inviting to party" simply refers to a "matchmaking party", just like most multiplayer games these days, since Bannerlord will feature matchmaking. Don't get too excited for coop, it's unlikely.
I really hope they made spears viable as a ground troop, as they were so commonly used in real life and I hated how useless they were In warband. Though they were awesome in Viking conquest.

i would love early access the original Mount and blade had a sort of "early access" before it was popular on steam where you could buy the game at alpha stage and help the devs with ideas and bugs and mount and blade turned out to be one of the greatest games ever
Early access is fine either way. Its about the development team, and if they need more money or time is fine by me. I'll support it either way. (As long as they don't pull a dayZ nad finish their game)
If they do a coop feature, I feel like it's gonna be something basic like you and your friend(s) will be in the same party where the host is the leader and if your friend leaves the game mid, he'll just be a AI companion that you can just command.

Modding keeps old games fresh and new without the devs having to get involved. Bethesda sells millions of Skyrim games thanks to modders and they would do as much for this game as well. So very excited.
I think a sort of beta or early access has always been very likely given what theyve said. At least a multiplayer one to try the combat mechanics and balance.

it isn't disappointing Multi-user working isn't implemented. That would have been a ground breaking revolution in the game dev industry lol. NONE of the AAA engines or Unity/Unreal engines have this.

I dont think that we will see the Game this Year. There are no Signs at all for a Release and Coop Mode..how they will handle Coop in that Game? Maybe with 2 Players, one is riding cross the Map and the Other will Attack at the same Time a Castle..so how will you handle this?

Jesus, that would be very unprofitable for both armies. It would be like real life, and both parties would be hesitant to engage because they have a lot to lose and little to gain. Besides, it would quickly turn into a hunting match, with players killing each other first to game a massive tactical advantage. However, if they appear as bandits and proceed to raid the ever living shit out of villages, the invading player can easily destroy the economy of the home player. It might work similiar to total wars jump in mode instead. Where a siege occurs and another player shows up and plays with the AI army. However this would still have the same problem as a single player with their personal warband (however AI armies tend to be less scary because they often use the quantity>quality rule that players typically have), the invading player would target the home player, and then the home player gets royally fucked if they can't continue as one of their companions or their troops.

Early access is great for the core fanbase but it kills a game's ability to market it's launch as a "new & shiny" product because it has technically 'already been out for a few months'. Essentially, the early access release lures many new potential customers into a game that isn't complete and many of these potential customers might not be looking into dev blogs and niche youtube channels. Over time, you bleed that playerbase dry till you are left with only a smaller, core playerbase. There is nothing wrong with smaller, core playerbase. But nowadays in the gaming industry it is rare to find a fully fledged singleplayer/multiplayer, mod-friendly, open source, open sand-box, satisfying game. Taleworlds look like they are on the right path to achieve that and this could nail them a prominent market share in the historical/medieval/non-fantasy RPG/strategy genre which seems to be coming back in hot right now with games like Kingdom Come Deliverance, Chivalry, Skyrim (to some extent), Witcher 3, etc... They are not announcing release date because they want to have a perfect release that makes both the core fanbase and new players think go HOLY DAMN first time they load up the game. First time I played Warband was 3 years after it had been released, I did not sleep that night. I went on to play 700h. I am sure they are redoing just that with this game, but with even more content.
