I like these videos as they put these smart devices up against medical grade devices. If you’re going to buy a smart watch with fitness tracking, heart, GPS etc you should buy one that you know will be fairly accurate.
I'm obviously unable to watch the whole video yet, since it was uploaded two minutes ago, but I already know it will be great! I wish you'd have more subscribers!
@@TheQuantifiedScientist It would be nice if you mention on which firmware the watch was in the test. Also i would be thankful if you make another test with the latest firmware, since March they have like 2-3 fw updates. You do a great job on your reviews!
It's funny that in most of these reviews, the success rate for sleep stages is always around 50%, which is.. a coin flip. I'm no biologist, but from what I understand, REM sleep is essentially a brain phenomenon, so how could a watch detect it? For all we know, it might he running an algorithm doing some guesstimation like "the heart rate has been low for X hours, he ought to be having some REM sleep around now, lets throw a bunch of REM intervals at random until heart rate goes up"

great video, great channel! i love what you are doing. could you do the new huawei watch 3 series? they claim to have upgraded sensors. and personally i'd love to see you do this with the garmin venu2 because i'm thinking about buying it :)
I am awaiting the day when I arrive at the Conclusion and Rob says the product on display is superior to the fitbit charge series....will that day ever come?! Stay tuned to find out :)
Thanks a lot for doing a video on Huawei Watch GT 2e. I was contemplating of whether to by Huawei Watch Fit or Huawei Watch GT 2e. I also prefer a thinner watch because Huawei Watch GT 2e is 10.8mm thick. I am into jogging and cardio. Not so much sleep tracking and weight lifting. Any recommendation of which watch should I get?
Hi, love your videos! Please do a garmin vivoactive 4s review and a ticwatch pro 3 review! These both look like amazing watches, especially the garmin as it has constant o2 readings.
8:50 It would be very helpful, if you could add colourbar and paint the cells of this confusion matrix with gradient colour, based on the values in those cells
People do generous..to press like button... despite of 10k+ view...very few show courage, to press thanks symbol 👍. If he saves your time & money... atleast he deserves Like!! Regards from India!
Please do a review for muse hybrid watch and muse cue watch. The watches seem to have good feature but there aren't any reviews for them. Would like to know how accurate is their sleep and step tracking.
Have you considered looking at the biostrap evo? Wondering how it stacks up against whoop primarily for "readiness" what's been the best device you've seen that measures that accurately?
I enjoyed The GT2e daily for 2.5 years. However, the battery malfunction melted the screen all of a sudden, three weeks ago. The watch screen was really hot after automatic shutdown and it could not save the screen.
What a crappy watch. Terrible heart rate monitoring and I really wish I had seen this video before I'd bought it 2yrs ago. Thanks so much for this. Wish there was a correlation stat for the heart rate monitoring in this video. What an absolutely shocking piece of tech. You are an amazing content producer Rob!
do you think the error/delay in heart rate detection dues to sweat accumulate between your skin and optical sensor? I have the same issue even when I tie the band very hard at the beginning of the training. but gradually the gap between the two devices gets extended.

I watched videos from Turkey. I am Turkish. I could not understand all of them because I do not have a good command of English. Did you like the ability to measure heart rate in general? I would be very happy if you just answer this part. I am also subscribing :-) You are very successful.
I like to watch your videos. I have both the GT2e and the GT2pro. Two friends of mine have other GT2 watches and those two together with my GT2e have always similar results, but the GT2pro nearly never. I bought it after my GT2e broke the glass plate after a drop. The results of the pro were so poor (I like the watch otherwise), I decided to buy another GT2e which again had the same results like the first one and the two of my friends. Maybe I use my GT2pro wrong, but I can't figure out what I do wrong. It measures steps, but can't seem to find my heartrate.
The GT2 Pro recently received a new update (11.0.4.28). It's a lot more accurate and responsive at measuring heart rate during workouts, it's like a new watch. I wonder if you can repeat at least the sleep test with this new update, I promise you'll get better results.
Hello. Again nice test ,but im still waiting video (like you promise even here) where you will test huawei gt2 pro (gt2e)if it detect and keep counting steps even when driving car or ride a bike...
Hey, I have the gt2e and also the gt2pro, neither of them seem to count any steps when driving or riding a bike, i´m very happy with the stepcount on both devices! Hope this helps :)
My heart rate sensor mostly shows low heart rates during running, while my garmin venu shows high heart rates. Any reason you can think of why that might be the case? BTW, are you orginally from the Netherlands? You sound Dutch to me!
my fitbit again failed to record sleep data last night but my samsung recorded the sleep as it always does. the fitbit is sooo frustrating to use. fitbit may be more accurate but if it records no data, it is worthless.
as always never dissapointing!! Do you think making a video about samsung watch 3? It is very popular and i think many of us would like to see its results with your tests
Hi, what kind of HR tracking setting did You use during test ? Intelligent mode or continuous? On my gt 2e i have observed problem with HR readings during workout on stationery bike when Intelligent mode was used. Comparing to Polar OH1 optical HR sensor, my heart rate was way too high. Changing HR tracking to continuous mode solved this problem.
Do not get this watch if you're a swimmer, even though it is able to count laps accurately. It WILL get water damaged after a year of use. There's a huge design defect where the screen and the body sits, as water will eventually seeped through. The screen went fuzzy one day and the display went blank. I took it to service centre. They just replied with "water damaged". All l I did was use it for swimming to count laps. The pool was less than 4 feet deep. Watch was 1.5 years old and repair will cost the full price of the watch plus another 20% on top. Huawei claims their watch is only water resistant, not water proofed. In other words, you can only use it at the sink and other light activities. Forget about using it to count laps as you risk destroying the watch forever.
Very useful and informative!! I am struggling with choosing MI band 6 or a Fitbit band. Which one/system offers a more acturate sleeping track in general? Thank you in advance.
Firstly, many thanks to Rob. Is there anyone who recommend me to buy a Watch for Sleep tracking? I mean based on the previous reviewed videos which one you prefer to use. I need your kind response.
gt2 measure steps wrong when you only wave your hands, I counted 500 steps in 1 minute, after all, I tested 1 km normal walking, the Huawei app convert my steps to 750 meters, so it is 25% less.
I plug in a Galaxy buds Plus and after some time exercising and listening to music, the audio becomes slow and stuck. Is it a problem with the watch or the phone? does anyone have Bluetooth headphones connected to Huawei gt2 e?
Great in-depth review.. it seems today's smart watches (regardless of manufacturer) are only to be used as a guideline and NOT as a medical reference.. but considering this Huawei GT2e is quite close, to those medically recommended instruments, I should consider myself very fortunate for my brand new bargain price of £39.99 👍☺️

Thanks for your brilliant work. It's strange how few reviewers test the quality of the sensors.
You are the only youtuber that i put the notifications on, again really nice video! Could you test the GTS 2 mini? thank you
I have GTS2 mini and it perform very bad sleep tracking, under avg heart rate monitor,... So i would recomend HW Watch Fit
I also want the gts 2 mini test!
Huawei Watch Fit would be a better buy as it is more accurate and gives you better fitness metrics/info.
if only all tech youtubers would put this much time into analysis... i wouldn't have to keep buying stuff and returning..
Much appreciated.

Will you make a video for Xiaomi mi watch anytime soon? Keep up the good work you are awesome.
Could you please recommend the best and the most accurate spo2 oxygen level smartwatch or band please?
Due to covid-19 would be great if you could let us know which smartband, perform better Spo. Thanks a lot
comprehensive, analytic, data based... what can I say truly a scientist's approach!
Thank you for sharing. Is there any reason you didn't test spo2 sensor on this watch?
Fantastic work being done by you. Unlike the fluff reviews being done by "top" youtubers.
I'm gonna buy this one because of you man 😂 the right scientific review I'm looking for. Thank you.
Could you do Spo2 test on Huawei GT 2e
I would like to see Garmin Fenix 6X Pro or regular 6 in this test
I would love to see this too

Thank you so much for making such viedo...can you please make a detailed viedo on Amazfit T-Rex Pro & Honour GS Pro
How does this compare to the current list of tested watches? Would love to see this added to the graphs!
Love your vids, they're fantastic. Looking forward to the Amazfit GT line analysis, I've heard bad things about its HR sensor. Cheers!
Yes, with some amazfit data most of the wearable market is covered. Great video again.

Currently, it is still the best budget watch for exercise that has built in GPS and music? If not, what you would recommend? 😊
Nice review! would be cool to see a scientific gps test as well!
Thanks for your work and for sharing with us. 👍🏼👍🏼

Hi man please make review on honor magic watch 2 🙏
Hi, can you recommend an oximeter for 50y old women. Thanks. She has cancer and also some heart problem. Thanks in advance. Great Content 👌
Awesome video as usual! Amazfit band 5 please!!!
Love your scientific approach to test wearable
Any plan to test those electronic scale that claim to measure body fat?
Hey Rob, would you consider doing an update video on this watch with GPS accuracy?
Have you considered looking at the biostrap evo? Wondering how it stacks up against whoop primarily for "readiness" what's been the best device you've seen that measures that accurately?
Using a thinkpad?! Nice. Subscribed!
Hi Rob, I wonder if you could do a comparison of the accuracy of the ECG for The FitBit Sense, Apple watch, and the devices from alivecor?
Nice vid! Do you know if the gs pro has the same sensor?
Will you be reviewing the Biostrap?
I enjoyed The GT2e daily for 2.5 years. However, the battery malfunction melted the screen all of a sudden, three weeks ago. The watch screen was really hot after automatic shutdown and it could not save the screen.
I can't wait review of Huawei watch GT runner. LG
Hi Rob will it be possible to review other Polar Heart Rate Monitors and compare them among each other?
Please test Amazfit X. Your videos are great. I'm also from Austria 👋
Which watch is best for weight lifting and cardio
Suggest plzzz
would you consider evaluating the Bose sleepbuds 2 ???? if they improve your sleep ?
Very good review, thank you!

Watch the video. His recommendations are near the end.

On his website, it's in the description ;)
Just so you know i just order this device and yeah I can't wait to use them soon☺️😁👍🏻

have you managed to get the resting heart rate to work? my resting heart rate is always empty
But when I travel on Morocycle or by Car or by Bus, it continuously counts steps 😔
Is there any solution of it?
Love your video

im currently using this watch but it seems that its overly sensitive in step counts
