Very nice video! But I have some questions about the heart rate measurement results. From the line graphs of each test, it can be seen that the heart rate data of gt4 seems to have a few seconds of delay compared to the reference device. This delay will significantly affect the correlation coefficient R, but in the actual use process, this delay has little impact on the experience. Have you tried to eliminate this delay by shifting the data and then calculating the correlation coefficient R? The cause of this delay is also unclear. I noticed the trough at 21:07 in the heart rate graph at 45:40 in the video. Gt4 clearly detected this trough earlier, rather than the usual delay, which is also very strange.

Great review as usual! I'm happy to see you're expanding on the test and information for the watches reviewed. After the disappointing sleep measurement, do you believe that the Google Pixel Watch is the best all around watch for Android? I saw you corrected the outdoor cycling for the Pixel watch in your newest videos.
Personally, I think the Pixel Watch is the best android smartwatch when it comes to health tracking. It's just a shame that the battery is not very good and many data are locked behind a paywall
@@bojantenja I meant in terms of health tracking and features, especially as it will receive updates until 2025. I'm trying to decide between 1 and 2. There are many reddit threads where people agree that while the battery is bad, it lasts 24 and even up to 48hrs. Some compare it to the apple watch battery life and notice no difference, but I suppose it's varies greatly depending on the use case.
Hi! I have to check on that change in outdoor cycling (don't have the data here). I collect new data sometimes, but I don't think I changed anything for the pixel watch, and the data should still come from the same source. If there was a change, not sure what happened. The data loading is mostly automated at this point, and I just indicate a folder and date range.
Have you tried pairing it with the h10 or have you not purchased the watch yet, I'm looking to do the same thing use the gt4 with a polar h10 external hrm
I just discovered your channel and it's absolutely great. I watched this after the pixel watch review and notice the numbers all seem to be different, and much better than the original review. Was there some kind of update or did you reassess them for any reason?
Love your reviews! Can you please test Amazfit Balance? It is the Amazfit GTR 5, but with a new name, and I am not sure which one to buy, I like Amazfit more, but based on the older reviews of yours, the Huaweis are generally better, however they use a completely new heart rate sensor now.
I'm suprised about the bad oximeter results. The GT3 (Pro) performed way better in your earlier test. I'm looking for a nice smartwatch that is able to monitor my blood saturation. Unfortunately the GT4 isn't going to be the one.
Hey Rob, do you have plans reviewing the Garmin Venu 3? The price is 50% higher then when the Venu 2 came out and i wanna know if the higher price is worth it
I had a Band4 Pro and loved so much I procured a GT 2e. It works for my porpouse (stand alone GPS with big screen) and I approve it. So much I'd like again to upgrade for a GT Runner. Now I have doubts that the GT4 is really a step up from the Runner or GT3 Pro. I think I have to wait for the Runner 2 or a GT4 Pro?
Or the GT3 SE, if you have the chance to order both the GT Runner as well as the GT3 SE and return on of them you might be surprised. My only concern is GPS accuracy, but based on my research the GT3 SE does the job. By the way, I have got the GT Runner.
GPS Signal accuracy is very important for Strava, as i've recently learned. My Huawei Watch Fit 2 will often miss segments. My only comparison is a Wahoo bike computer, which works great, and mobile phones, which are doing even worse in the accuracy department in my experience.
@@eduardopc4same huawei software. last i checked, it had the option to sync with strava, but only sent GPS information. Heart rate, power was not synced. I bought an app called Health Sync, which offers customizable sync between different services. That included heart rate, but still not power meter data - and the developer was quick to respond and work with me on the request.
Hey Rob! Having watched this and your review of the GT Runner, I'm interested in the fact that your scores across all categories although good, are slightly lower for the GT4 than the GT Runner despite being 12 months or so newer and further developed. Is the GT Runner the better watch or has the competition since moved the benchmark higher?
Hello Rob, thanks for a new video. I'm trying to understand confusion matrix, did you change the methodology from previos videos? In previos videos (Eight Sleep Pod for example) vertical columns were normalized, so when i look at deep sleep missclassified as a light sleep it was percentage from base as a light sleep. Is it same here (37.6% of light sleep from zmax were missclassied as deep by watch) or you changed to '37.6% of deep sleep detected by watch were a light sleep on zmax'? You inspired me to share my findings on youtube and I'm now thinking about methodology, planning to make some sleep accuracy videos with dreem 2 / zmax data as reference.
Hi Max! Good questions. No, same as always. And yes, this is a somewhat arbitrary choice, and I am also thinking of making some changes. It is a balance between how easy it is for people to understand and the value of the metric... Cool, excited to see your content. Maybe we can do a nice collab one day :-)
@@TheQuantifiedScientist thanks for answer. So it seems i need to figure out by myself how to report accuracy in casual way. I want to address problem when there is 30 mins of deep on reference device but watch overlap with it for 27 minutes but overpredicted total deep sleep for 60 minutes. In your matrix accuracy will be 90%, but i think it should be 27/60 = 45%. Watch show 60 mins but in reality there were 27 mins of deeps, no way it should be presented as 90% accuracy)) And I think it easy to understand - "Watch detected 60 mins of deep sleep when there were only 27 minutes of deep sleep for reference device, so it mistaken 33 minutes out of 60,". Anyway, i will continue to think about it while i'm making first video, it will take some time :) +1 for colab one day)))

@trym2121 Garmin Venu 3 is the best hope right now for those not on Apple. Want a smart watch and are in the US. It's using the new latest generation sensors with battery life up to 10-14 days. It's on Rob's list of watches to test.
Will you test the Huawei Watch 4 and/or Pro as well?
Great review as usual! I'm happy to see you're expanding on the test and information for the watches reviewed.
After the disappointing sleep measurement, do you believe that the Google Pixel Watch is the best all around watch for Android? I saw you corrected the outdoor cycling for the Pixel watch in your newest videos.
Personally, I think the Pixel Watch is the best android smartwatch when it comes to health tracking. It's just a shame that the battery is not very good and many data are locked behind a paywall
How could it be best when it's battery is always dead?
Rob, if you see my message, could you confirm that is possible (and easy) to pair/connect de polar H10 to the GT4?
Have you tried pairing it with the h10 or have you not purchased the watch yet, I'm looking to do the same thing use the gt4 with a polar h10 external hrm
@@hitmanzaman556 yes you can and its super easy
I just discovered your channel and it's absolutely great. I watched this after the pixel watch review and notice the numbers all seem to be different, and much better than the original review. Was there some kind of update or did you reassess them for any reason?
thanks for your test, and i hope u can tell me whether to choose HUAWEI gt4 or HUAWEI gt3pro.Which one is better?thanks again❤❤❤
i am your Chinese fans!😂😂
Quality content bro 👌👌👌
Loving this ❤
Between Huawei GT4 with Coros Pace 3 which you prefer to for Runner?
Love your reviews! Can you please test Amazfit Balance? It is the Amazfit GTR 5, but with a new name, and I am not sure which one to buy, I like Amazfit more, but based on the older reviews of yours, the Huaweis are generally better, however they use a completely new heart rate sensor now.
Are you going to do an updated review for the fenix 7 pro, garmins new sensor?
Are you going to review the amazfit balance? I'm about to buy but waiting for your review
Will there be a GT4 Pro? I know the Huawei Watch 4 Pro exists. Makes it kinda confusing.
In the past, the Pro Model was presented later and it is very different from the Standard Version.
I'm suprised about the bad oximeter results. The GT3 (Pro) performed way better in your earlier test. I'm looking for a nice smartwatch that is able to monitor my blood saturation. Unfortunately the GT4 isn't going to be the one.
Are you gonna release a scientific review for the Huawei watch 4 pro
Hey Rob, do you have plans reviewing the Garmin Venu 3? The price is 50% higher then when the Venu 2 came out and i wanna know if the higher price is worth it
We are waiting for huawei watch 4 Pro. If the results are same, ot means that sensor quality definitely decreased
I think I have to wait for the Runner 2 or a GT4 Pro?
these are all fake improvements to make us poorer
Or the GT3 SE, if you have the chance to order both the GT Runner as well as the GT3 SE and return on of them you might be surprised. My only concern is GPS accuracy, but based on my research the GT3 SE does the job.
By the way, I have got the GT Runner.
Thanks for the review. What warch would you recommend for sleep apnea detecting?
When can we expect the video about GW5 to drop?
GPS Signal accuracy is very important for Strava, as i've recently learned.
My Huawei Watch Fit 2 will often miss segments. My only comparison is a Wahoo bike computer, which works great, and mobile phones, which are doing even worse in the accuracy department in my experience.
Do you know if can sync Huawei Watch with Strava?
@@eduardopc4same huawei software. last i checked, it had the option to sync with strava, but only sent GPS information. Heart rate, power was not synced.
I bought an app called Health Sync, which offers customizable sync between different services. That included heart rate, but still not power meter data - and the developer was quick to respond and work with me on the request.
Depending on the region you are, there is native integration. @@eduardopc4
Great video. A question: Huawei Watch GT4 or Amazfit Balance, and why?
How does the gt 4 gps test compare to the forerunner 255. Because I’m trying to choose between these 2 watches for running
Thank for all the reviews. Which top 3 you would recommend in 2024 for heart rate during workout. Thanks
Could you test the activity auto detect accuracy feature as well esp the cycling autodetect by different watches
Review embargo is up! Thanks - your chapters are a bit wrong for gps and oxygen saturation, they are titled in reverse
Thanks for the comment! Really helpful! 😊 I fixed it :-).
Thank you for all the contents :)
Meanwhile, are you testing also the new Garmin Venu 3? It seems to be a big improvement in garmin products
Garmin is bad. ONLY name.
Review Garmin Venu 3 and Amazfit Balance ❤
Great analysis. Is there any testing for swimming?
Hey rob great video! Do you know if the GT4 will get non invasive Blood Glucose update like the Huawei Watch 4 and 4 pro will?
Are you reviews Huawei watch ultimate?
The best channel for smart sport watch ! many thanks from France.
does it measure blood pressure? thank you for the video very helpful
So quick! Big thanks.
You're welcome! 😊
Hey Rob! Having watched this and your review of the GT Runner, I'm interested in the fact that your scores across all categories although good, are slightly lower for the GT4 than the GT Runner despite being 12 months or so newer and further developed. Is the GT Runner the better watch or has the competition since moved the benchmark higher?
Do you gonna testing amazfit balance?
Anyway, i will continue to think about it while i'm making first video, it will take some time :)
+1 for colab one day)))
Would like to have a look at Huaweii Fit Special Edition test. Would also like to see Mi Band 8 and Mi Band 8 Pro when Global Version come out
I recently bought a TicWatch 5 (Sandstone) and would love to see how it stacks up against the competition. Any plans for it? :)
It is basically an expensive heart rate tracker
Hi Rob, will you in future let at least another person do the same tests? Maybe so the results would be even more precise.
Thank you - nothing is more in depth. Question - why is that the GT3 seems to more accurate than the GT4 despite the improvements?? Thanks
Hi, any chance you are gonna be doing a review about Huawei Watch 4?
When will you be receiving the new Withings Scan Watch 2? Nice video as always!
Hey Rob, Is there a internal storage on the Watch? Can we put songs on it? Thank you!
Hi, can you test Fire-Boltt Solaris?
Hello, i want to know which one you suggest to buy between Huawei GT3 Pro and GT4?
Can you test the Huawei Watch Ultimate
Are you planning to review the GT4 pro?
Hey dear the best beetwen huawei gt 4 and huawei fit 3? Thanks
