    Awesome buddy I was planning on doing a setup video for iPad but you’ve beat me to it. Great tips. I picked up a couple of bits I didn’t know. It’ll be very helpful for newcomers just getting setup. But like you I was very frustrated with the wonky gestures haha

      Thx Alex! I notice the gestures work fine on iPad mode, it’s just while in Standalone where it’s a bit erratic. Because this is a port from the desktop version, there may be something that needs to be adjusted to compensate for adding touch gestures to that portion. I’m sure they will figure it out.

    Excellent video, thank you. This video took the overwhelming layout of the app down to a manageable level. Do you know if the app free for a limited time only before a subscription based fee comes in?

    Hi, i get an Error of Missing GPU for Rendering (it Shows only M1 GPU for Denoising)? I have IPad Pro M1 (2021) 12.9 with 256GB and 8G RAM. What IPad have you or have you a Tip for me what i can do to Render? Thank for your Video.🙂👍

    Hi, thanks for review, there isn’t much videos on octane for ipad. Still wonder, does it support older models like 2018/20 pros. Heard that despite compatibiility with specified models in app store it doesn’t work at all on older ipads.

      no, only M1 and M2 chips

      The App Store states it supports iPads with the A12 Bionic or higher, so there must have been an update. This just means it works but is slower to render, if it render at all depending on how large your texture maps are. The M-Series has a MUCH faster GPU and more memory to work with.

      Unfortunately, no. Yes, it states that it supports older models with a12 as it did few months back, and you can even download it and open a project, but everytime you will run into errors, empty scene and warning "no render GPUs" found. And also it says there's not enough ram (6gb 2020 ipp, so yeah). Long story short, it complicated and kinda shady.

    Great video and tips, thank you! One suggestion: can you maybe slow down your speech a little? You tend to talk really fast in some places and I had to rewind a lot :) thanks again!

    Otoy hasn't revealed much info about the Octane x for ipad!.
    Is Octane X Ipad version, a render only, or is it both render and modelling app, with materials editor etc…
    Allso, can Octane X do animation on Ipad ??.

    • @SteveTalkowski
      @SteveTalkowski  Год назад +1

      It’s not a modeling app, but more a scene assembly and rendering app. The FBX file I imported had two keyframes, so It supports that. I don’t know about executing batch renders, though I know they are interested in leveraging remote render nodes.

      Unknown. You can import .obj and .fbx files though.

    I hace a problem when i save the scene and i try to open ti again, its empty, do you know why??

    • @SteveTalkowski
      @SteveTalkowski  Год назад +2

      I did have a similar problem. The file is definitely saved. Try exiting iPad mode and open the file in Standalone. Then, exit Standalone mode and you should be able to Save As. The project now is visible in the Gallery. The app is in desperate need of an update, as it's not really ready-for-prime-time.

      @@SteveTalkowski Yes, it has some bugs, but I hope they improve with the updates, I'll try to follow your advice, thanks!
