I think the ipad will end up being an indispensable secondary tool for industrial designers. Mainly to represent and communicate ideas with clients. Looking forward to get one. Great video!
Cadmio is such a great step in the right direction! I love the idea of the visualizer app for clients to see designs through simple iOS download. The ability to design products without being tied to a clunky desktop is going to revolutionize designer concept development cycles. Only bottle neck now is iOS itself being inferior to Mac/Windows OS, if Apple made an M1 Mac+iPad all-in-one device where we could Rhino/Fusion/Shapr and Cadmio/Keyshot I would be sold!
Yeah I’m really interested to see where it goes with the M1 chip and beyond. I heard individual apps will be able request additional ram soon which could open up even more possibilities
Wonderful review Sam. Would really love to see you design an iPad Pro on Shapr3d and then render it on Cadmio (and Keyshot, for comparison benefit). A single video tutorial or series containing that would be hugely appreciated!
Very interesting! I was planning to get an ipad for sketching, now I'm thinking I could also use it for modelling and rendering. May I know what ipad model do you have?
Thanks Sam for your clear and insightful analysis 🧐! I'm super happy to know now, we are able to have the entire workflow on the iPad, giving us the possibility to move our work station everywhere. Finally I should say I really want to have an affordable replace to keyshot on the iPad. Warm greetings from Colombia.
I would like to ask (as a beginner in 3d modelling and an industrial design student) 1)Can ipad pro completely replace my desktop for 3d modelling, character designing, rendering etc? or will my final touches still be dependent on pc 2)Is investing in an ipad smart or should i continue learning and working on my good old pc?
Hadia, this is my doubt now, lol. If I'm not wrong, i asked if u smtg in another video, on another channel. But anyways, i was also wondering if I could just bring my ipad to class instead of a laptop?😆 i am gonna buy a system which has a good RAM, and also a stylus feature alongwith good graphics.
Im really excited for tools like these to just keep improving and improving. Imagine one day an ipad app yould be up to par with Keyshot. Hope that day comes
So cool! I'll definitely check it out. I wonder if it's possible to transfer to keyshot. Would be a very nice way to do some prep work if you aren't at your work station.
I am planning to get an ipad for easier travel and convenience. Do all of ipad models support this app or only several? (Pro or…) If not, which ipad model are you using?
Great video! I feel like there’s great potential in using your iPad for your design process. Also, is there a particular 3D modelling app you can recommend for the iPad please?
Shapr 3d seems more for making basic models. Nomad Sculpt is an app for basic and complex models with high quality PBR textures and lighting similar to a game Engine. Nomad Sculpt also has v-painting that can be converted as a texture. Procreate and Armour Paint can texture paint 3D models.
Hi, am about to get a new Ipad Pro for product design... could you suggest the best model and optimum specs like memory, on board storage etc please in your reply consider the apps you mentioned, photoshop, illustrator, Rhino, Ndesign, Light room

That is a great tool also for meetings with clients. Thanks Sam.
Congratulatons, Sam, on this video! It's very convincing and believable! On my way to the app store. :D

Glad that you finally back to RUclips
Thank you! It’s good to be back 🙌
Trying cadmio but I mostly design clear acrylic furniture and the clear materials don’t show up well. Hope they improve this

I can see that happening one day!

In Cadmio, once the prep work is done then you’re finished! 🙌

I have a seventh generation ipad and the app store tells me that it is not compatible with my ipad model.

You are Legendary ❤
Great video Sam! R u using 11" or 12.9" Ipad Pro?
Thanks! I’m using the 12.9” iPad Pro 3rd gen

Is iPad a good investment for product designers
Thank you for this video, very informative

Get a new 12.9 iPad Pro with no less than 512 GB of storage
Super! Thnx a lot!
No problem, I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
Needs more materials. Also, subscription model is a bummer.
It’s really good soft. I tried it before. make the tutorial for cadmio pls
I honestly just watched the 4 short videos on their website and that covers everything! Really intuitive
How you placed that helmet in kitchen?
The scenes are all from Cadmio! You can choose from the library of environments and add them to the scene. The kitchen is the full environment
What is the pricing of this? It is not compatible with my first gen ipad pro. :-(
It requires iOS 14.2+ and an A12 Bionic chip unfortunately
@@SamDoesDesign do you think they will launch of for macbook later?
@@SamDoesDesign only M1 and M2
I love Cadmio, but it’s expensive.
I feel it’s a fair price. Something like Keyshot is alot more expensive. And Cadmio is not much more expensive than a spotify subscription
Can I use sketchup skp file on cadmio ?
I am a big fan of samsung, but this video made me buy an IPad
This Program is cool, expensive
Ur so cute
