Nice synopsis about Tamilnadu's history. one omission. Post Vijayanagar rule, Tamilnadu came under the rule of Marathas too.
Not completely, most of the tamilnadu remained independent small kingdoms after fall of vijayanagar empire
Only a small portion of Tamil Nadu was ruled by the Marathas for a short period

Lanka or Illangai or LIinga Puram is part of Pandi Nadu. The whole Island was not a island before tsunami s seperated it. The whole island belongs to the Tamils.
Yeah it was part of kumari continent and called as Eezham/illam = home. The ancient homeland of Tamils. The rise in sea levels split present tamil nadu from eezham and also submerged the ancient tamil city Poompuhar. The remainant of the ancient city can be still found underwater in the modern Poompuhar beach. Orissa Balu spent his whole life and has lots of underwater research evidences.
