If Temples essentially started existing with the Guptas, then what about "The Mundeshwaari temple" in Bihar? It's been dated back to 108 CE by the ASI itself. The base of the temple still remains (the rest being demolished by islamic invaders) , with it's absolutely different hexagonal structure which doesn't resemble any conventional temple...

Actually stones or concrete temples started building when Greek arrived in India. The first known Hindu temples was built by bindusara in sachi which is now in ruins . Before that there might be temples of mud or wood which obviously can't survive to till date . So it's stupid to say temples started building only in this era . Actually most of Archeologist and historian do so which is again stupidity. In village, we have small shrine dedicated to gramdevta which is not so grand and long lasting.

I am appalled at the lack of respect she has for the unconventional historians, going as far as calling it fiction and pretty much idiotic in a polite manner, also laughing it off as if it were children’s’ work. I am just really happy to see Ranveer hold his ground and not buy into the crap she peddled. TRS has had ASI archeologists who dig and procure artefacts themselves who are way more open minded and have a true scientific mindset, bring them back a 100 times if that’s what it takes to replace Binny. I am sad to know she has students whom she is influencing to create the next generation of historians with an agenda. Do we really need a historian to gas light Hindus into believing there were no temples/hinduism before 1AD in this day and age? Definitely do not need any more of them in Kerala and TN, where this ideology has created a massive exodus of Brahmins from TN and Hindus from Kerala. Well, I guess she is a true representative of the states as we know them now, communist territories.

    • @iamtherj
      @iamtherj Час назад

She believes in Aryan Migration - typical communist ideology. Most of the things which she's saying here is just a one sided agenda based opinions. On multiple occasions, she's spoken Ramayan and Mahabharatha to be myths and are related to Brahminism and not a cultural history of India. She has also spoken against construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya arguing the decision is baseless and there's no evidence for a temple beneath the Babri structure. She's some fraud with an agenda behind. Tamil people and culture is an inseparable part of Sanatana Dharma or Hinduism and it played the most vital role in protecting the culture and people in South, but all she's making it sound like Tamil is nowhere related to Hinduism and it's something different. Typical Communist way of diving the culture. All her arguments make it seem likes Hinduism is something created by Brahmins which is new thing whereas Tamil culture is completely different and very much old which is not as same as Hinduism.

Suppose In case of an asteroid strike, only people from Thar, Namibia or African deserts survive (as per Ranveer) . They have been seeing Aeroplanes fly and have been using smart phones- internet all this time. After the catastrophic incident, these people will definitely be left with those memories of scrolling through a 6 inch screen but what would be the probability that those people in the midst of a desert or barren land would know the technology or the procedure to rebuild the same smartphone or internet. That is exactly why we have different "SMRITIS" in our culture, which is like a window to peep through into our past.

I appreciate how TRS has brought on so many respected historians and Indologists, shedding light on the complexities of Indian history, both North and South. It’s been refreshing to see experts untangle these narratives for audiences genuinely interested in understanding our heritage.
However, I’d suggest being cautious with guests like Malavika Binny. Having listened to her Malayalam speeches, I feel that much of the information she shares isn’t evidence-based and seems to promote a specific ideological perspective. As a left-leaning Catholic, her approach to Indian history, particularly in relation to Sanatan Dharma, often feels influenced by Western ideas that could confuse viewers genuinely interested in understanding India's authentic history and cultural roots.
It would be amazing if TRS could continue to invite more established archeologists/self-taught historians like Anuja Mann, KK Muhammed, Nilesh Oak, Raj Vedam, and others who bring well-researched and balanced perspectives to the table. Thanks for considering this feedback, and keep up the great work in showcasing India’s rich legacy!

One poem goes like this- A woman tells this to her partner who came back home drunk and singing loudly much to her dismay and may also have visited a courtesan- “you know last night my friend and I heard horrible sounds coming from outside. She said it could be dogs and I said it could be wolves. She said it could be owls, i said it could be donkeys. She said it could be ghouls. And I told her it could simply have been you.” 😂

I have just begun the podcast and have a contention to what is being said so I thought I’d leave a comment for the same - while she is right that there isn’t much talked about Southern India, I believe it’s not just Southern India. Indian history is much diverse and wide than what is being taught in history books, we are still learning about French Revolutions that happened outside India or about Mughals and Britishers who came to India. I believe the reason behind that is because we still have a faint British influence on us wanting us to learn more about the foreign lands and secondly I believe while the historians in India are working round the clock uncovering the truth of Indian history, there is still a lot to be done, it is still not mainstreamed. I believe the first step would be to mainstream the work of historians that will bring more stories and histories to light for Indians to be intrigued and be learning!

51:20 It's not a logical claim that a traditional historian should made . The problem with traditional historians is that they think society developed with time . Here she is trying to say that modern women have better position in society than mediaeval period women so mediaeval women could had better position than ancient women.
But above thinking is wrong if we think of evolution. Men and women both were the part of evolution. In ancient world there was very less differences between men and women. Women were equal to men but with time their position declined.
She is citing an incident of Mahabharata very loosely. In Mahabharata,There are many references of women in royal court, the best one is gandhari presence during peace talk with Krishna.
There are countless evidence of that but if you want to pick one riyal court that was always open for women then it would be court of king janaka of Mithila . Gargi , sulabha , apala are the best examples.
In Vedic period women used to go in war and were the members of sabha and samiti both .

Hindu mythology Matsya Purana is written in reference to the arrival of Jews in ancient Keralam and a great flood that occurred in Keralam. The fish that appears before the king asking for refuge represents the Jews who came by sea. The fish getting bigger and bigger in a short time here means the more and more arrival of jews who fled their land after fall of Solomon's temple.
In the history of Kerala, there have been many great floods that submerged Kerala. The jews who came to Kerala by sea may have warned about the coming heavy rain by observing the weather and wind. This may be the reason why Malsya Avatar is said to have prophesied about the coming flood.
With the arrival of these foreigners, the story of Noah's Ark spread first in Kerala and later outside Kerala. Matsya Purana is a combination of these incidents in Kerala and the story of Noah. Noah was like a “second Adam” since all people come from him. And Adam is the first man according to foreign belief. In the Matsya Purana, the king who rebuilds flood-ravaged Kerala takes the place of Noah.
After this story reached North India, many changes were made and it became the Hindu mythology that we know today.
According to Jewish belief the ark of Noha came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. In purana King's giant boat came to rest on Malaya mountain. Mala itself means mountain in Kerala's language Malayalam.

FYI Matsya Purana has 291 chapters containing over 15000 verses while the Torah contains 5500 verses so atleast do prior research before spouting whatever comes to your mind

@@shivashankar-xy8zmshe mentioned Sangam literature talks about gods like Murugan, Mayyon, Kottravai etc so your argument of Sangam literature being different from Ramayana and Mahabharata is moot since both of them use gods and supernatural elements(Cilapattikaram talks about cursing and burning a city down by Kannagi)
And your second point of having a religious rationale to justify war is true in the case of Cholas but Ramayana and Mahabharata never talked about a divine rationale for those wars, it was the commentaries which talked about it. Rama waged a war on Ravana because he kidnapped Sita and it didn't matter whether he was a God or not(especially since Ravana has a boon to be able to be killed by only a human so even Gods can't kill him). Yudhishthira waged war on Duryodhana because Duryodhana didn't give them even 5 villages and even Krishna negotiated for those 5 villages. And Krishna(the divine character in Mahabharata) was involved only because Kauravas went to him first not the Pandavas and Duryodhana chose Krishna's army while having the first choice.

The presiding Sanatan God/Deities of Aindhinai(5 Lands) of Sangam era is the very first thing we Tamizhs learn.
and here she proclaims that there were no Gods or Idolatry in Sangam, before "socalled" Aryans allegedly came in. Load of BS.
Extract from Paripadal, a Sangam Literature calling Vishnu as primary deity of Mullai-regions.
    Paripāṭal i :Line 50 to 56

Though it may sound controversial, none of us-whether from the East or West-possess fully reliable proof of our histories, or even of world history as a whole. Much more research and evidence are required to verify the accuracy of our historical records, particularly regarding Indian history, which stands as one of the most fascinating among all ancient civilizations. As a devotee of Shaiva Tantra and Lord Sadashiva, I feel it’s important to acknowledge that, historically, there is little tangible evidence or clear narrative supporting the existence of Shiva as a historical figure. This absence in recorded history does not diminish the profound cultural and spiritual impact of Shiva, but it does highlight the need for further exploration into our past. Jai our Maha Bharat !

Read translation of the poem -
      He gave
me many splendid precious jewels that awed me.
When my large family saw that, they took the finger
ornaments and put them on their ears, put the ear jewels
on their fingers, those meant for the waist on their
necks, and those meant for the necks on their waists.
They were like a huge family of monkeys with gaping red
mouths scooping up the beautiful ornaments that fell to
the ground, when the mighty demon snatched away enraged
Raman’s wife Seethai. Heading a large family and thinking
about removing their great sorrow, I was very happy along
with them when our poverty and distress were removed.

This paragraph might seem that i take sides of alternate historians but please note that my pov is that inputs from both of them should be taken as inputs by both in their works so that they could synergize the exploration and deep understand the lost history.
Respecting her love of evidence based history. I like the way she express the same. I am starting to think from the way she speaks, she has no idea to keep her mind open for the inputs from other people and ignoring few things saying that there were no logic. Nilesh oak kept the celestial evidence in the texts on the table and backworked using the scientific methods of NASA (from what i remember - it was a voyager's celestial map ) where he explains that for example the changes in earths axis were also calculated for arriving the celestial positions mentioned in texts.(point to note: Keezhali site was selected for excavation based on the reference in the texts and wow it contains a massive history but similar kind of references if taken for celestial positions is no common sense). If considering and calculating those using a well good source is not a common sense and logical per Malavika, then i think there os only 2 things, either she hasn't seen that explanation or she has an attitude to not to take the inputs from people who differs in ideology even without thinking.
