Apologies to those folks who are getting shocked looking at the length!!! But you cannot talk about a civilisation in a one minute reel! ;))
Also who should we have over next for a Deshbhakt Samvaad?? Ideas welcome - but keep them real :)))

[1] No matter what you think of the colonial British, the British tried their best to negotiate reasonably transfer of power to the Indian subcontinent in 1946 through the Cabinet Mission Plan. Neither the INC nor the AIML accepted it till the end and the result was Partition of India. So, now, dont blame the British for the problems all the time.
[2] India has to deal with two hostile neighbouring countries (Pakistan and China) and they are nuclearly armed as well. So, it makes zero sense to be subjugated to jingoism/patriotism/nationalism etc ideas coupled with religious intolerance. This is happening despite of globalisation. India has Arab Muslim influence on the West, Russian oligarchic influence at the North and Communist Chinese influence to the East. The closest democracy - Australia - is still far away.
[3] If you are still facing the problems of poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, overpopulation, unhygienic conditions, corruption, etc then its not worth tolerating the nonsense and better move elsewhere.
[4] Why did Partition had to have happen in India only? Why didn't it happen to USA or Canada or Australia or New Zealand etc wherever at various timelines in history when UK decolonized? There is something wrong with the whole Indian subcontinent mentality!

JAYA and MY GITA are my favorites of his works ..his programme DEVLOK with Rasika Duggal was so popular during 2017-2018, i still remember him explaining every question of his viewers so patiently.... he presents an unbiased view, unbiased from Religion & Politics but based on Logic, Mythology understanding in terms of SYMBOLISM, not based on statues and fatalism..he tries his best to make us understand the SYMBOLIC meaning, the SYMBOLISM associated with Mythology ..not some romantic fairy tales, but the real facts, the underlying history..this combination is unique to Devdutt Sir and that is what makes it so much Interesting..

Lol, completely wrong! Why is india trying to make a claim over modern day Punjab? Harappan civilization is the north-west of modern day india - the punjab region which includes Indian Punjab, Pakistan Punjab, Kashmir, parts of balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ! The culture, the people were very different of the indus valley - "h!nd00s", actually those of Dravidian origin based in the valleys beyond the river Sindh coming from West to East!
The trade route is known to go through this region connecting it to all the various countries beyond India going from modern day China to the West! Hence why it was and has been many Sikhs who were involved in trade! Something modern day Punjab is not allowed to do funnily enough! 🤔🤫🤭
The history of this region / place belongs to the Sikh people and those they inherited it from! Emperor Kanishka was from this region. Does Kanishka ring a bell? It should do - it was the name of Fligh AI182 that was b0mbed on a crossing from Canada to "India" as it entered British air space (orchestrated by the indian rogue regime / deep state, allegedly) but was subsequently, deliberately blamed on Sikh activists (Khalist@n!s who campaigned for secession/independence restoring the region with the freedoms it enjoyed for a very long time. It was slowly dissolved over time with the help of the british and "indian/bray0man!cal" elites who evolved their power over time taking advantage of rulers by plating the game of being servants, mystics whispering into ears looking to steal wealth/take control where they could! True kings/royals were destroyed/removed from power over time with the gaps being filled by great pretenders who to this day hide their secrets well!
Modern day india is nothing like how it was. Even vedic texts talk about how this region is off limits to the indus valley people! Reason: people were aware of the tricks and games those at the top of the caste based system played! If you have ever heard of "the evil eye", 👁 its these pundits along with their scriptures, incantations and the political class that gave it meaning! Driven by a burning desire/a fire to tale what they could how ever they could! Day and night they would deviously make plans!
The influx of so called "aryan" people included and actually was likely only "The Jatts"! Not a caste but a civilization, a people with noble roots, trust worthy, salt of tge earth type, righteous! Who originated from the northern regions of Iran extending up and across the region spanning regions of Afghanostan towards the caucases, Russia,Turkey and West ward towards egypt, northern iraq! Some may even say... well that may be too much for some, would not want anyones brain exploding metaphorically speaking! 🤯💥🤯
It is their blood lines that crossed with earlier people/civilization of this north-west region of modern day india! Evident more so in Kashmiri peoples (fair skin, light hair, light eyes). A distinct separate group in many ways from the europeans, the chinese and the people of indus valley (i.e. dravidians - the real people of india).
Looking at comments on this posting Its interesting to see how a huge number of people suddenly become experts or reiterate what is said / presented in these kinds of podcasts to reinforce a narrative, often presenting India as this great race of people! It's as fake as a sprsy on sun tan! The likes + comments just seem overwhelming - like there is method to the madness? - 'not'!! Dare I say it... an attempt at presenting history in a different light to what actually was the case?! 🤔
Opinions, views are my own! No offense intended. If you got something to say please do so quoting your sources along with something confirming your argument! You will indeed be very hard pushed to find it!
It eould becinteresting to know how this expert appeared? What his credentials are? Has he written any papers? Have they been peer reviewed by independent entities across the world?
Please - substantiate your claims before making fools of people! They deserve better - at the very least - the truth! 🙏

(Only culture not religion) (new breed indus valley civilisation+ Aryan dna)और गैर आर्यों (only indus valley civilisation dna) को साउथ और जंगलों की तरफ भगा दिया। ( new culture introduced brahminisim which includes temple worshipping). Jat caste people are truly those Aryans (today's farmers of Punjab Haryana). All other castes bhraman, khatri, gujjar, yadav,जाटव, bishnoi etc are Derived from Jat Aryans. कुछ jat गरीब होने की वजह से lower cast me bhi aate Hain।

      Made up?

One thing I've never fully understood is this: if we Indians are descendants of the people of the Harappan civilization, then where did our sense of civic advancement go? The Harappans had highly sophisticated urban planning, sanitation systems, and public infrastructure. Over the span of 4,000 years, shouldn't we have evolved into a more modern society with similar advancements? Yet, even today, we still struggle with basic sanitation issues. Compare this to the Roman Empire, which, despite its fall, left behind enduring legacies in architecture, governance, and infrastructure-clear evidence of a civilization that not only evolved but also left lasting contributions.
It makes me wonder how a civilization that was once so advanced could seem to have diminished in some aspects while others, like the Romans, progressed and adapted over time.

    • @polaris1985
      @polaris1985 11 дней назад +9

I think something bad happened here (famine, pandemic, invasion). No one will know because there is no documentation of harappa in history written by people. we only found out about this civilization after finding archaelogical remains by digging.
Only some might have managed to move to other places. That is the reason all the advancements died down.
We dont even know what langauge they wrote and spoke!

But even if you compare medieval Indians to medieval Europeans, medieval Indians were way more hygienic. Indians used to bath daily, while west was living like bathing was a luxury.

This is the best explanation I saw on the end of Harappa civilization. As you said it was developed by traders to trade with Mesopotamian civilization. I also agree with you the Aryans came to India after 500 years afterHarappa civilization ended. You also mentioned alphabets ta,da,dha non existence in Iranian language and it is a byproduct of Indo-Aryan children incorporated those sounds into Sanskrit. This clearly indicates Vedas were written in 1000BCE. Another interesting point you raised is the roots of Sanatana dharma goes back to Harappan civilization and later incorporated many Buddhist, Jain and Vedic culture practices. You did not go further to discuss the creation of Brahmanism, Manusmruti and untouchability. Under Ashoka. Buddhism wiped out the Vedic culture, and the Pushyamitra Sunga killed the last Mauryan emperor and started to bring back Vedic/Brahmin/Sanskrit culture. It took 400 years to replace the Buddhism by Vedic Brahmsnism and wrote Manusmruti to codify Brahmin domination. They put limits to not to deviate the birth profession and put fear to go hell if broken. People who opposed it were called untouchables and outcasted them. Today RSS, BJP is following Pushya Mitra Sunga legacy and wanted to rule under their Hindi/Brahamin rule. This will not sustain, and India could break like Soviet Union into multiple countries. I hope you shed more light on these matters in your future topics!

Very interesting interview with Devdutt Patnaik. I've been following many of his interviews and newspaper articles. He is a charming and witty person with a treasure trove of information, intertwined with both some facts and some fiction, woven skillfully like a master story-teller. Devdutt, in my opinion is the Indian counterpart to Dan Brown, the author of several highly entertaining bestsellers, both mixed with a dollop of fact and interwoven with entertaining fiction. After all, he is a "mythologist". He specialises in the study of "Storytelling", of which all religions are based upon. But it is fascinating to listen to Dr. Devdutt Patnaik!
