Hallo, can you tell me please 🙏 how much you paid for the whole trip and how long you stayed there ? Also I want to know the nearby places which we can visit in 4 to 5 or 5 to 6 days. 😊
I figured living just outside of Banff 🇨🇦, we were in the most beautiful place in the world with the Rocky Mountains but, apparently not!! Wow that is absolutely stunning
So happy to hear you guys had a great time here :) The last mountain you drove past is called Store Trolltind and is Europe's highest vertical wall. From Trollstigen you could see the backside of that mountain. Great video, and thanks for sharing :)
Had no idea of the significance of this! Goes to show how many more gems there are to discover... It would be a tempting hike to go back and do one day!
If you go back to Norway, I could really recommend going to the north of Norway next time. Go to the city of Bodø above the artic circle, in the Nordland area. Tons of great sights and viewes all over the area of Nordland. From Saltstraumen, Lofoten, Senja and much more. The North of Norway is truly amazing!
If you want to experience northern Norway and winter you should go to Tromsø 😁👍🏻❄️ There you can see the northern light (Aurora Borealis I think it's called). And Tromsø is a nice city with a lot of fun pubs and nice restaurants 👍🏻

Agreed. You can go anywhere and have a different adventure… others have commented that the east is also very nice away from the coast. I hope to check it out one day :-)
The Battle of Hafrsfjord where the 3 giant stone swords is, happened in 872, which isn’t close to 1400 years ago, but 1151. An impressive monument nonetheless.
beautifull video! I studied half a year in Bergen and I did almost the exact same roadtrip as you but in july. Unfortunately we had terrible weather with low hanging clouds and lots of rain, but it was still one of the best trips Ive ever done.

Great sharing to add to my bucket list, could you tell me more about your car rental experience? Anything you learned to make it more pleasant and less pricy?
We booked through Hertz and got a free upgrade which made a huge difference to the quality of our time in the car. The only must haves is to make sure you get unlimited KMs in your rental agreement, and that any surcharges for tolls are minimal. It can also help to use an aggregator to try and find the cheapest prices but you may be limited by their participating rental providers. I'll add a link to one of these in the description.
It is indeed amazing, but pricey. I love the footage of this beautiful scenery. My father and I love to inspire and be inspired by other travelers. As park rangers with degrees in anthropology, we are drawn toward content with information on culture, historical sites, ecology and local food. If you decide to come back again and you arrive at Oslo Gardermoen Airport. There you have Gardermoen aircraft museum, an ancient forrest not far away from the airport. There's also a Viking grave mound not very far from the airport. There are several hotels arround here. Stop here for a night or 2, f.Example at the city of Jessheim. That's the closest city to the airport, about 8-10 minutes from the airport by car. Gardermoen. The area where Oslo airport is built, is almost 5000 years old. Gardermoen and the surrounding area was a busy viking trading place, back in the those days. So the area around the airport and Jessheim, is filled with history and small gems and places to visit. I live 10 min. away from the airport. I grew up here an I still find places I didn't know about, so highly recommended. Great video. So many memories came back when I saw Geiranger and such. i love the places you visited. they are all chill and relaxed at the same time covering the beautiful norwegian landscapes. I have couple of questions:- how many days did it take you to cover the whole trip? which month did you visit?
Thanks for watching, glad you liked the video :-) All the driving took place over 9 days plus another two in Oslo before we hit the road. If you have the then two full weeks would allow you to spend a few extra days at your favourite spots.... Trip was in July and we were very lucky with the weather with some cracking days despite poor forecasts.

Hi, I am from America and planning a visit to Norway to see Puffins around Runde. I am flying into Bergen. Do we need to take a Ferry to Runde? Any suggestions & help would be appreciated, please. Helen from USA Thank you so much
Its called Nesset Fjordcamping. I would travel back to Norway just to sit on that balcony and relax for a few days again... Link is in the description if you're interested ;-)
I considered this but would be concerned the prices would be out of date and become less useful over time… especially after the global inflation of the past few years.
Glad you liked the video :-) Link to the motel is in the description. It was in the town of Olden and while the rooms are small, they have been recently renovated and the view unmatched!!
Did the car that you rented have automatic transmission or was it manual transmission? Is it difficult to get automatic transmission in Norway? To rent?
Yeah automatic transmission. Easy to rent, but a bit more expensive than most countries... You might like our driving tips video if you are planning to visit soon :-) ruclips.net/video/q8yWs3IJKRY/видео.html
Lovely sights. We did (almost) the same in our 2018 roadtrip, but in reverse order (Atlantic Ocean Road, Alesund, Trollstigen, Geiranger, Olden, Bergen, Preikestolen). Missed Kjerag and Stavanger, but I'll add them to our next itinerary, along with many other places that I have on my to do list :)
The time stamps in the description should give you a reasonable idea of the route. Will have a blog post up soon with the full map, will update here when available :-)
Definitely one of the easier countries to drive around in. We have done a separate video on the driving side of things which could be helpful :-) ruclips.net/video/q8yWs3IJKRY/видео.html
Can you please recommend rent a car company and who has the best prices. I know I can see them on Expedia, but I will appreciate your perspective. My wife and I will be going to Norway in September. Thank you.
We rented a car via Hertz and had a good experience. I don't think I would recommend one provider though. I would shop around and take the best price on offer for the vehicle size you want.... You can narrow your search by only looking at operators that offer unlimited KMs on their rentals. This is important as you may cover a lot of ground!
Some stunning scenery and a great video. I always wanted to visit Norway and my surname is old Norse. I'm even learning Norsk on Duolingo ready for a trip.
Obviously, when you live at a fjord fisheries will take place but these towns weren't and aren't fishing villiages, they were often farmsteads or communication "hubs" - it was musch, much easier to travel by boat than over land. Odda owns its modern existance on the production of Calcium carbide )and derivatives) based on local hydroelectric power. That whale sausage you mentioned was in all probability made from Minke whale, not an Orca. The Minke is not an endarngered species; the 2022 quota was 917 out of a poulation in Norwegian water of an estimated 107,000. There are reasons to oppose whaling but the danger of extinction of this species is not valid. Bergen is the wettest city in Europe (average yearly 2250 mm) but is by far not the wettest place in Norway. The wettest weather station is in Takle in tyhe Sogn og Fjordane distric, with an annual average of 2,974 mm.

Its called Nesset Fjordcamping. I would travel back to Norway just to sit on that balcony and relax for a few days again... Link is in the description if you're interested ;-)
Which month did you make this trip?
This was in July
@@theslowtraveler2047 Omg, snow in July? Was that normal?
wow amazing 👏
Thanks for watching :-)
hii amaizing trip
please add the prices you paid in the next videos
I considered this but would be concerned the prices would be out of date and become less useful over time… especially after the global inflation of the past few years.

Awesome
Thanks for watching :-)
really beautiful
Such an amazing place, cant wait to go back :-)
beautiful, im trying to make a plan for a roadtrip in norway, but i cant find Vinder fossen anyware, does it maybe have another name?
The correct spelling is Tvindefossen. I assume to subtitles may have been incorrect :-) I’ll have to get this fixed up.
Hi sir ! Great video 👍 what was the name of the hotel next to the water ? We are doing a road trip this summer.
Olden was definitely a gem that is easily missed... We hope to head further north next time!
One day you will be lucky enough to be an elderly tourist....
I certainly hope so!! I’ll save the cruises until then I think :-)
@@theslowtraveler2047haha
What was the town you mentioned at 12:20?
12:12 He mentions Alden. But I think that’s wrong for Olden. Olden is not a town, only a tiny one with just over 500 inhabitants. 🇳🇴
Its definitely tiny, but very nice :-)
What was the name of the Olden hotel you stayed in with water views?
It is called Nesset Fjordcamping. Amazing place a good value: booking.tp.st/45mUXpFY
Hi. Could you please share the names of the towns that you visited. It difficult to follow the roads that you took. Thanks
The time stamps in the description should give you a reasonable idea of the route. Will have a blog post up soon with the full map, will update here when available :-)
How was the driving? I’m going in two weeks
Definitely one of the easier countries to drive around in. We have done a separate video on the driving side of things which could be helpful :-) ruclips.net/video/q8yWs3IJKRY/видео.html
14:45 It is rare that i have seen people drive through my home town on youtube.
And what a beautiful town it is :-)
@@theslowtraveler2047 Thanks :)
It is often foggy there. Nice cliffs though.
We must have been really lucky then!! Despite forecast rain most of the week we saw plenty of sunshine.
At 7:20, what was the name of this town?
bored… Odda, not Oda.
Some stunning scenery and a great video. I always wanted to visit Norway and my surname is old Norse.
I'm even learning Norsk on Duolingo ready for a trip.
Thanks for the positive comments. Sounds like quite a challenge! Nailing the accent would be especially tough!
Which month did u go
This trip was in the first week of July :-)
Thank you for taking the time to add such an informative comment. Valuable insights into some of the towns and cities that feature :-)
What dates did you go?
It was over ten days in the first half of July
Please consider adding the names of towns as text on the video if you’re unsure about the pronunciation.
It should all be in the description. If there are any missing you would like me to clarify then let me know :-)
nah, that rock is a nope for me. Great video though
Not my proudest moment that’s for sure!!
I drived by motor cycle on trollstigen road

Geiranger is pronounced sort of like yay-rahng-air.
Since you literally asked. :p
Thanks for clarifying :-) I had a feeling I was butchering it!

Norway is one of the world,s most beautiful places,(if one likes mountain,s)😉
Especially Fjord Norway
I was very amused of the way you managed to spell Geiranger wrong and differently i think 5 times , especially,,, Gay ranger ,, for gay people or what 😂😂😂😂🤠😉
Norway for the win
Spelling (and proper pronunciation) is not my strong point… what is the correct way? Happy to correct this :-)
Geiranger 🏞️🤠😉
The video is nauseating and unwatchable due to low framerate.
Thanks for the heads up :-) There are a couple of sections where this is an issue yes.
Melbournes further, so is Hobart, LoL
Hobart will never be signposted in another country :-) Melbourne maybe….

Try to not do subtitles on your movie. It destroys your ame...
Was it blocking the screen too much?
I bet he paid for the entire trip.

Very dumb the rock situation. Is not worth risking your life. Sorry but that was stupid. You guys must show respect and appreciation for your own life.
I agree 100%
