    Great platform. I bet all kinds of people will be buying them after watching this video. The MJX motor is perfect. I guess it comes stock with all metal gear drivetrain. Very nice my friend.

    • @Rek_Rc
      @Rek_Rc  6 месяцев назад +3

      The drive train gears are metal out of the box, but the internal differential gears are not, so you'd want to get the upgraded diffs to run brushless power.

      You always have so much knowledge about your cars. I'm always learning from you and really like how your channel has grown. RC's are such a great way to have fun and stay busy in my retirement years. I have been leaning towards smaller scale cars now and have the mini LMT and the MT12. They are easy to manage and film as a one man operation. I just need to get used to them and learn to drive better. @@Rek_Rc

      Stock it does around 25 MPH, which on 2s and a 380 brushed system is actually pretty good.

    Awesome video! This or the mjx 14210?

    • @Rek_Rc
      @Rek_Rc  3 месяца назад

      Both have a massive advantage over the other. The 14120 has all the performance numbers in its favor, being that it's capable of 50 MPH, and can do standing backflips on a high grip surface from a stand still. The Arrma Typhon Grom has much simpler, more convenient parts support, where as parts for the MJX can only be ordered online and can involve a bit of a wait, but they are available. So parts support goes to the grom. Durability is quite close between the two, but if you're planning to go brushless with the Grom, you'll need to buy the upgraded metal gear diffs, as brushless power will destroy the stock diff pretty quickly, within minutes infact. The price is comparable for both. But the Grom will eventually have upgrade packs that the MJX won't have. If I were buying one today, I'd go MJX. But 6 months from now, I'd go Arrma all day. The best part is that both are so inexpensive, you could just buy one now, and the other when Arrma installs the upgraded diffs as standard, which they are doing with the Grom line starting with the Mojave onward. I'm sure there will be BLX versions and conversion kits sometime within the next year though.

      @@Rek_Rc ah okay thanks a lot for the in depth answer! I’m lucky because the biggest Rc reseller in my country has parts support for both so I can get parts in 5 days. The only thing with the grom is how small it is. It makes me question the stability and how it handles on uneven surfaces. But people say it’s stable and some say the mjx is very unstable so maybe the grom actually is better off-road?

    Mjx 16980sa 2840 3800kv motor or hbx 14210 motor ? My little 16980sa is around mid 40 mph on 3s . Yours is moving good , sounds good too , like a perfect setup 👍. I did t even know this existed until last week and there’s 3s and larger versions . This arrma seems to be one of the most liked judging from the comments I’ve read . A lot of folks really like every version . Looks like it’s an easy choice for a guy who has one or two and wants another , like me , lol . Hoping my rlaarlo deal comes through . I’ve had some crappy happen and I ll elaborate if you guys would like . I’ve already left a few comments in the rrarlo vids . Some straight up bs the community should know about but I still want to get the car , lol

      It's actually the 4400kv system from an MJX 14210. It's just about perfect for it, though it does make the body sit slightly high on the side the ESC is on.

      @@mailonwilliams6864 Arrma gorgon is a great place to start, it's 1/10 scale, super tough, parts available all the time, you can upgrade it whenever you like and it starts well able out of th box. It's still only about 130 to 160 dollars. But if money isn't an issue, I'd go Arrma Senton BLX all day.
