That's a bummer. At least parts for it are super cheap. Is it brushed or brushless?

@Rek_Rc brushless, the lights don't work either. I turned the remote on and then held the power button on the car. Still just goes back and forth no steering. Am I missing anything? Any connections

Not really, unless you change the connector.

They do make racing a bit more fun to watch

They don't roll over near as much, they are about as fast on 2S, a bit cheaper as far as I know, plenty tough, parts availability is decent. I'd say they are slightly better.

​@@TheUnknown714​ 100% bud. The same could be said about bushings, brushed motors, crappy batteries, all in one esc and recievers etc, all tech that was replaced well over a decade ago. Not to mention there are tons more features that could be included for very little cost, yet majority of our main stream big brand manufacturers continue to charge a premium for a lot of rtr's with old tech, old desgins and no new features, rinsing the public dry selling crap for prices their top of the range should be. Luckily for us the budget one's are 100% better value, 10x as much fun out the box, cheaper upgrades/ parts and your not funding greedy corporations who care nothing for the hobby. All this and more whilst keeping more money in your own pocket. Win win. need i go on 😂 Tbf at between 50-100 for cars like this you really can't go wrong, even if a little rough around the edges in places on some 😉 by time you've spent double and sorted issues your left with a car which may have cost as much as a basic big brand, however its fully loaded ready to thrill unlike the bog stock no bang for you buck branded bs 🤷‍♂️ 😂

It cogs a bit, it does over 50 MPH, 52 to be exact so I'm sure it's slightly over geared.

I just have to ask, because everyone seems to do what you did... Why not buy the full size Mojave if you're putting that much money into your Grom ? Wouldn't the bigger vehicle be more versatile ? I'm not trying to judge you or be a dick about it.... I just see so many folks putting $300 into a $129 truck, and I can't figure out why. Thanks and happy bashing.

I can't speak for others on this, but I can say that in my personal experience, sometimes it's just fun to have a small and completely insane RC that surprises your friends with larger cars . When I "over boost" a small RC, it's for nothing more than hearing "OMG WHAT!" followed by laughing from my friends. But for someone with a ton of power systems laying around, it really doesn't cost anything to do that. For others it can be pricey though.

@@Boogie_the_cat Well because I already own a Mojave 4s with a bunch of upgrades and a Team Associated Pro4 SCT. I just wanted the Mojave Grom because I really have a lot of fun with my Losi Mini B. Once I got the Mojave Grom I had to make it faster because that is what I like to do lol They handle surprisingly well too

@@Rek_Rc 💯 Spending $140 to make the truck almost three times as fast as a stock one including an upgraded radio was worth every penny imo.

@@Rek_Rc My only critique is that I think you shoulda redone the dirt test with fresh batteries in the HBX. Given its performance, I think the bout mighta been closer. But honestly? You were fair to both trucks. No matter which you spend it on, you've got a good pick.

@@bloodangelphil I wanted to, but the other battery for it died, and I believe the second battery was defective. But I would have liked to get a few more laps in with it.

Yes, Top Gear is indeed a game for the SNES from 1992 developed by Gremlin Graphics. It is middling at best, so I'm not sure why you'd compare this video to that game. ฅ⁠^⁠•⁠ﻌ⁠•⁠^⁠ฅ

The Mojave just couldn't be beaten though. I've never been more impressed by a small brushed RC like this
