One Day in GUANAJUATO | Fascinating Mexican City
Wow this city is beautiful. Mexico is looking like the gem of the Americas these days.
@Google User Mexico's strength as a tourist attraction is its variety, there are few countries in the world with the amount of interesting places and history that Mexico has. In none of the countries you mention do you find something that you cannot see in Mexico
I feel like US Is underdeveloped
the real Americans are the brown people of Mexico, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Bolivia, etc. ....the Hopi, Cherokee, etc.
At 2:16 the guide was explaining the legend of "Lover's Alley," where a couple would meet in close-facing balconies against the wishes of their parents.
Her father actually according to the legend. Her father found them and then killed her. Eventually he committed suicide.
Well said!
Thanks, very interesting.
Here’s the story in English:
www.atlasobscura.com/places/alley-of-the-kiss
Really steep... you have to be in shape for this
Love seeing this different side of Mexico!
This is typical Mexico, do you go to Cancun?
Such a colorful and fascinating city. I love those tunnels. Guanajuato is definitely high up on my bucket list.
Try Taxco
I hope you recover
The moment that yellow dress girl passes
Gabriel : There goes my "Thumbnail"
😜
perfect thumbnail🤣
Yup. Verging on creepy.
This city is like a painted canvas. It's so colourful 👌👌👌
I need to go to Mexico again
It's such A beautiful town! And You are so Good to explain ! You are The Best !!!☝️☝️☝️
This is my fav Mexican city too! Just from the videos though, I have never been to Mexico. I think this city is built for someone like Gabe. With his love of walking, he is the perfect person to walk up all these steep hills!
Mexico's so colourful and interesting 🌏👌💕
The more I watch your videos, the more I'm in danger of believing the world is beautiful.
Cool city, 7:15 even death seems like a nice fellow.
How stunning and that street art....wow....such talent!
Such a clean and colourful city. You have the energy to go up and down in high altitude low oxygen city. Your sense of direction is amazing. The wall art/graffiti deserves some medals.
At 2:00 is the story of "el callejon del beso," or the alleys kiss. Is the story of the death of two forbidden lovers.
When I was 6 I visited this city and all I remember were the tunnels, the mummy museum(scary for a kid haha) and looking down at the town from up above(it was beautiful). I am 33 now and would definitely go back and visit. Thanks for this upload my man. Cheers from Tucson, AZ.
1:53 ✨🤩𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐌𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐚!🤩✨.
Next time I tune in, I’ll make sure to grab a glass of homemade Horchata instead of popcorn!
I was there last year. The highlight of my trip was the “Alhóndiga de Granaditas” museum, the funicular ride, a small coffee shop called Cafe Conquistador, eating pasties (similar to empanadas), Teatro Juarez, and a FESTIVE walking street tour led by los estudiantes de Cervantine. I felt like I was in a musical! Thank you for the fantastic tour! 🚇
Thank you for helping me travel through the city of Guanajuato ! 👍🍺
HappyThanksgiving , Gabriel...🙏🙏
you re so lucky to go on traveling, while Europe is going through crazy times, with this second wave...
Mexico looks grate..
Best greetings from Paris 👋👋
I’ve seen many U-Tube blogs for Guanajuato but yours by far is the best. I really got sense of what the city is like. Others say it is one of top cities in Mexico to visit but you showed why. I also enjoy your other videos, keep up the good work.
11:18 thats a xoloizcuintle, not a chupacabras.
What's the deal with some Americans thinking that the Chupacabras is supposed to look like a Xoloitzcuintle anyway? It was always portrayed like an alien-like creature. Only Dexter's lab got it right.
A blessed good day sir Gabe Wowwww what a beautiful and nice Guanajuato Place in Mexico Nice to walk around the Alley and streets and beautiful People of Mexico, 😍😍❤️❤️💖💖💕💕💕 thank u so much sir Gabe for your nice excellent Walk around tour keep safe Godbless from your solid fan Supporter viewer from The Philippines 🇵🇭 sir Vhin 🙏🙏👏👏👏🙂🙂🙂👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍
Guanajuato is beautiful. Thanks Gabriel!
Guanajuato has the best menudo or "pancita" as they call it. I ate pancita in the market and heard on the radio of Selena's passing. Very memorable day.
Hello.. Gabriel.. Very nice place in Mexico... Amazing... Grazie mille... Super job of you... Take care of yourself and stay safe 🍀
thank-you so much for taking the time to film and upload ....really great to see you still travelling and staying healthy ......are you planning on returning to the usa any time soon ?
Watching your video of this city, I think I will travel there in February. I hope the weather is warm and not cold there.
It will be pretty chilly in February, especially at night. It's at 6,600 feet so it can get cold, but probably not bad during the day if it's sunny.
That's the Guanajuato kissing alley. It is not a religious thing. Romantic narrow sloping lane with its own Romeo & Juliet love story, popular with kissing couples.
He was a tour guide telling stories about the city. Something that Japanese in that location. I believe it was a love story
Great video...Guanajuato is such a lovely city
Hi Gabe 👍🏻. When at the beginning of your video you don't know if it is a religious gathering or something else, it's the famous Kissing 💋 Alley (Callejon Del Beso) where couples go to get a picture 🖼️ taken as they kiss each other. There's a story behind it of a young couple, the daughter of a wealthy man and a miner, who are forbidden to see each other by the woman's father. The couple's life ended in tragedy. The mummies you see here and there is because of the mummy museum. Another way of showing Guanajuato 🇲🇽 to the world.
Hi Gabriel. Keep traveling brother!
Bro, you fully covered this city! Dogs barking all hours at night would be problem for a light sleeper like me.
Excited to see what beach you end up at, keep following where its warm as long as you can
The people that were gathered were taking a tour of callejón del beso I believe. Famous story of two lovers.
Struggle art with death are nice art in the wall very meaningful and inspiring 🙄❤️ but the drink that you get it ! It’s so energized 👍🏼
They're talking about "The Lovers Balconies" It was a sort of "Romeo & Juliet's" story.
Loved your music selection in this video!
Hey man, super inspirational video, I want to go there now. Can I ask your opinion on travelling during the pandemic? I'm sure you've been asked a lot already. Maybe it could be it's own video? Keep up the great content! Cheer
Wonderful video of this enchanting place. Keep up your labor of love=travel and stay safe..Happy Thanksgiving to you...actually, every day is a thanksgiving along the winding roads...may you always be freedom.
Love GTO. Epic walking tour Gabriel. 🌴
You should try two spots at San Luis Potosi: Huasteca Potosina and Real de catorce.
This state is close to Leon Guanajuato.
Near there also a great place at the state of Jalisco: Mazamitla and Tapalpa.
In the middle of those is Aguascalientes, very small state, but we have about 4 great vineyard's and some have a restaurant and a tour.
I'm happy your back to Mexico, and In one of the most beautiful cities in Mexico too. My brother who study to be a priest there, says there are mummies and a museum called: El Museo de las Momias. Back then there was a cholera pandemic many bodies is said to be bury alive. Interesting story.
Very..very..Incredible area!..waow!👍
Great show Gabriel... Interesting and informative also.. You sure get where you want to go.... Energy and a good eye.
Cant believe youre walking the streets i once walked.
Is Mexico City safe? It's not as bad as i expected
That man is explaining El Callejon Del beso. Been there many times. It's a legend.of a couple who were neighbors. Their family wouldn't let them marry so they'd make out at the balcony lol
Happy thanksgiving Gabe ! Those steps make me breathe hard just looking at them
Love the Scenery here!
Very nice Mr M. Your forecast is in the 80's daytime & in the 50's evenings. That just excellent for November I'd say. I'm seeing why you might choose to stay in this place. Thx 4 the views, btw.
That is a lot warmer than I thought it would be at 6600 ft. Much higher than Denver.
It amazes me how you can do all this traveling for great lengths of time all alone......but it's very impressive..
It's great travelling alone. No differences of what to do , what to eat. Also it makes you more eager to make new friends / socialise with locals
@@hammalamiri12 It certainly does work out that way, for sure.
Great traveler..........
You were at the alley of the kiss!!!! At 1:39. It's a tourist attraction. A legend of Guanajuato. :)
@gabrieltraveler
Thanks.
The houses of Guanajuato tumble down the hills that surround it in every imaginable colour. There’s no subtle, complementary colour scheme-fuchsia pink mingles with pillar box red, saffron yellow, baby blue, and lime green.
We like the city better for its discordance. Despite its beauty it’s not perfectly restored and retains a gritty realness-it’s a city where people live, work, study, and play, not a museum piece for tourists.
Bravo Gabriel, beautiful town, so colourful and quaint, loved the views from the top too, thanks for making the hike to share with us. 🇲🇽❤️
Amazing places.
That looks sooo amazing, feels like jumping on the plain right away and flying there. Remides Naples a bit too 😊
The gathering was a group of people that are doing tours.
Hey Gabriel HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
You are like a billy goat. I get so tired walking up hills like that in altitude. Incredible stamina.
You make every town and city appear so fascinating. Always waiting for your next video.
My wife says" the girl in the yellow top is too good for that guy!" I had to agree😆
He looks like rob Kardashian
Dope Editing skills man 🤟
Yay thats where i came from
Hi Gabriel, fascinating place so many little side streets with beautiful murals it's truly a charming town. Of course in Mexico they celebrate the day of the dead payer and remembrance of the dead of course a indigenous tradition that co-exit with Catholic beliefs .
Guanajuato is a historical city with tunnels and underground passages... cobblestone and narrow streets some of them not suitable for vehicles...fun to walk...the lovers alley's kiss tells the story (supposedly real) quite similar to the Romeo and Juliet in Verona, Italy...many visitors are attracted to this love story and you'll see them gathered around that alley....
You went to Guanajuato and did not film the mummies.....
Hard to believe.
These mummies have names and history
behind them
Incredibly well preserved, because of the type of soil, humidity and temperature.
You did an amazing job exploring and describing this place!! I feel like I know can check it off my bucket list!!?!?
looks like a cool city we love mexico and miss it your videos are always so good you show so much
Am I first?! Happy Thanksgiving, Gsbriel!
Seventh. Happy Thanksgiving.
lovely colourful city
Hey Gabe, just wanted to tell you I saw your first series of Guanajuato video's a few weeks before I went on a vacation to Puerto Vallarta. One day on Colomitos beach south of PV I met this family whose daughter lives in Guanajuato. I mentioned I wanted to travel there because of your video. I got her number and now I have a cute Mexican lady friend who I plan to visit once Covid dies down. So thanks for that haha. Also your video series on Puerto Vallarta is my favorites on youtube. PV is my favorite place on earth. Next time you go check out the south end of the bay like Mismaloya and Boca de Tomatlan (and the hike to colomitos and playa las animas)
Right on, that's awesome to hear!
Happy Thanksgiving Bro 🦃🍗🦃🍗🦃
Thanks, same to you.
Nice capturing the pigeon flying low...cool! Very good footage Gabriel and nice music
The thumbnail king!🔥🤟💯
25:05 This is Calle Vista Hermosa en Cerro del Cuarto, my old neighborhood from 2001-09. My House was at the top of the hill, so the view you were looking for, you would've had from my roof. Except from there you can see both ways so you get a view of the mountain wilderness on one side and the city on the other. You stopped filming just before you reached the top and started going back down, where the alley becomes too narrow for cars. That highest point is where my house is. The place where you were warned about the dog is on the next street down, Calle Media Luna. The reason for all the cars is that it's an area that rents out parking spaces. So strange seeing my neighborhood on You Tube.
Cool, thanks for the info.
Wooow es una ciudad muy linda. Gracias por mostrarla!!! ☀️🌞🙏🤗🌼
You walked right by the hotel I'm staying at in a couple of weeks! El Meson de la Poetas!
You're by far the best travel blogger Gabriel. Awesome music as always.
I'll b going w wifee in 10 days to visit for the 2nd time this amazing/hypnotic Guanajuato...can't wait.... great video. Gracias por prepararme de esta hermosa ciudad historica....thx dude 😉
Great gaberial , keep exploring
Thanks for all the advice, Gabriel. Gratitude, bro.
Thanks Always Enjoy Mexico
beautiful Gabe. like I was there....so good ;)
Amazing how clean the streets are with little or no litter. Puts San Francisco's dirty streets to shame.
I love horchata!
After your last video of Guanajuato I had a trip booked but cancelled due to Covid and you are back again before I could make it.
God bless your curiosity
How do you decide where to travel next? You were all the way on the other side of the world in Turkey and now in Mexico. Beautiful footage as usual
Basically on the spot moment. Mexico was the destination because of less hassle with the COVID process
Various factors all depending on my current situation. But yes the fact that Mexico is one of the few countries that's open to tourism now was one reason. Also it's near other countries in the area that are also open.
The street art is beautiful in Guanajuato.
Interesting City...A must
Thank you for sharing this video. This is my birthplace and I hope one day to be able to visit 🙌🏼 Safe travels from California 😊
I really enjoyed your exploration up a narrow alley in search of the Templo de la Merced de Mellado (orange church). Those narrow steep alleys are part of the intrigue of Guanajuato.
It seems that the murals have increased since my last visit.
Buenas tardes Gabriel..stay safe! :)
I think that place where ppl gathered is the alley of kiss
Mummies not my thing, too frightening, but Mexico seems like the place to be now? Keep on walking..
Am i 1999. ? 😉.....nice video Gabe,as always....keep on rockin' in the free world 🌍🌎
Hey, are you still in Mexico?. Come to San luis Potosi, I can take you to some places.
Happy Thanksgiving in the USA Gabe !!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving Dennis, and Happy Days.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos we've got a vaccine coming out hope it works hooray which means you'll be able to come and find me and visit me like we were talking about a year ago it is it in my new place soon that I have in la Jolla San Diego California Happy days Happy days p.s. maybe by then I'll really have gotten to be first LOL
OMG WOW is that Robert Kardashian on your main photo for this video!?!?!?!?
Lol,I am only a minute or so in to the video and it is 3 weeks old,so I am sure you learn that that is the kissing balcony (where they are lining up)-GTO is an amazing city. I went a few years ago and spent 3 nights at the top of the hill where the Pipila(sp?)statue is.I was in the building where the funicular station is.They rent rooms there.
Anyway,I am thinking about flying back to CDMX for a few days after the holidays.I haven't been in a year and I am having central Mexico withdrawals!
Thanks for all your videos. I am a big fan.
After covid19 restrictions,I would recommend New Orleans one day.I don't know if you have been here, but our beloved restaurants and bars have been decimated because of covid19 restrictions-and I am not against taking precautions,it would be worse if we didn't take them-and we depend on tourism. You are street smart, but I have to warn you about it not being the safest city in the United States, but use common sense and you will be alright.
Thanks for letting me vicariously re explore those amazing alleys and squares in GTO!
Never been to New Orleans, but I'd love to check it out someday.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos
Definitely. It is unique,it is more like Latin America or Europe than any other city in the United States. Santa Fe,New Mexico is another one, both are obviously European colonial cities. You feel it immediately.
