@@frankfurther3828 Darmstäder0815, Here. That‘s what they all do today. The more electronics the more robbing. Everyone knows electronics are cheap and the chinese prove it by adding the same functionality into cheap scooters with cheaper displays. Don‘t tell me the displays make the thousands or manufacturers testing. They buy a package - the cheapest option with the most expensive display for the top lines, that‘s all. 3rd world unstructured developers code the crap that marketing is asking right into it without end2end testing and no knowledge, documentation and capacity to remedy, later.
Unreliable Smartphone App software is currently the most reliable electronics package on a Bike by far, aside from Garmin XT2. Even BMW acknowledged that in their new systems, but still struggle to properly integrate it for reliable use.
As long as Dealers don‘t get good quality software releases and access to patches on a weekly basis, nothing will change. The rip-off is with the manufacturers purely focusing on sales and marketing, the dealers try to survive their squeezed position.

A rolex isn‘t perfect, many have issues within weeks, just like any cheaper watch may have, a Leica isn‘t perfect in the same, actually worse way, as japanese mass-build cameras of the higher segment are almost bullet proof, I know no Luxury piece that is perfect as the price indicates. Learned this lesson paying a lot of money for many dream luxury items. Shoes, boots, jackets, whatever you touch, it‘s high-grade material quality insufficiently tested with in some cases luckily good aftermarket service willing to be overkindly and helpful and trying if not struggling to fix it, sometimes at extra ultra-luxurious charges.
      Forget that expectation.
Chose proven quality items you understand what they are, how they work and how the quality is applied. Not just by looking how fat the material is, that‘s no quality qualification that‘s just „mass“.
Anyway they‘re all ripping us off, everywhere, that‘s the current root cause of capitalism. Very very rarely you find idealists that serve brutal quality and charge professionally adequately. Good quality for cheap is an unfair expectation ripping off the producer.

I got a 2023 FXST last April 2023. had issues at 260-580 miles. I will not go into all of them because I posted my story many times and never got any feed back on YT Except one that someone did not like me posting on the 7 channels I follow. I love my Harley no matter what and I own another bike , a Kawasaki.S I was riding anyhow. this is the first NEW Harley I ever owned, I had 3 older Harleys in 55+ years riding. My opinion is the the bikes built in the Pennsylvania plant during the last 3 years because of the CV pandemic caused a hostile work environment and the workers did not do the best... hard to keep a good work ethic when daily you do not know if you will have your job. I am thankful my dealer has been great with all the warrenty repair work. All in all I still Love this machine. Folks who own the bikes built in those years keep up the warrenty and all will be buttoned up. Stay in the wind

Let loose and press button 3 sec. Then you can jump trough false codes. When you push the button for 3sec when there is a “Y” at some point….you erase the notification (s)….scroll down and when finished turn off ignition! ✅ done!!

Enjoy seeing the MDB content again! I own 23 CVO RG as well and love the bike. The few times that I've connected my phone and CarPlay, I haven't had any problems. I know Harley has released a couple "Amp" updates that fix some bugs but, I'm sure Bryan's shop has already applied these. Couldn't agree more on the seat and can't wait for more after-market options. Also disappointed in how fast (< 200 miles) the heat shield on the rear cylinder started bluing. I read this was because Harley has the bikes running so lean to meet EPA requirements here in the US. The joys of owning a ver 1.0 product I guess.

I have a 2019 Road Glide. I love the bike, I HATE the Infotainment system on it.
I most especially loathe Harley from closing off the system to anything but their branded SENA wireless headsets. I had a look at the 2023 CVO demo and noticed right away that the big screen was lagging, slow and clunky. The hardware/software integration on any vehicle is an extreme challenge for manufacturers, Harley had to get this right and missed the target, and I suspect some of their problems for connectivity are complicated by their branding gateways. I hope they work these problems out and will hold off any purchases until they do.

I don’t get why other companies ( Indian and BMW for example) have great technology and you blend with your cell phone and use other features.
They need to step up with this or the younger generations that demand better technology will slowly bypass and eat up Harley

    • @GiancarloBenzina
      @GiancarloBenzina 7 месяцев назад +1

Keep an eye on such stuff, it‘ll never be working. It is the wrong route for manufacturers to build in what they do not understand and are incapable to service just by customer and marketing demand.
Instead they should just offer a in their large consoles an open hole with a smartphone wireless charging protective case holder. Cheap replaceable and big enough for big phones or even small tablets. Provide a APT data interface so engine/bike data available by ODB is formatted to be consumed by apps in the same way like strava reads your bike computer wirelessly reliably. BMW understood that, but again tried to be more proprietary and smart about it and F*** it up in their current generation creating the same struggle, we Polaris and Harley, likely Goldwing Owners, too, have.
Unfortunately on the big console bikes there‘s not much choice, unless police-versions.

I used to have a Lowrider and thought seriously about upgrading to a Roadglide or Streetglide, and possibly a Road King, but price is seriously in the way for me. I went with a 2018 Goldwing Tour that I got at a very good price. It’s a shame that anything as expensive as touring bikes (CVO, Goldwing, K1600, etc) have any quality problems at all. I’m moving to smaller lighter bikes these days.

It took 6 months of back-and-forth with the dealership and Ducati North America team, and programmers/engineers had to get involved and make an update for it; something about air/fuel stuff and running too rich, which you could smell. It's a BA bike that I wouldn't trade for the world. Sucks when it happens, but not everything comes out perfect. Ducati hung in there till everything was fixed, which was the important thing.

Yes and no, to play R&D for Harley on the Top-Level Bikes, they should discount it by 10 grand. This is not acceptable, even though realistically explainable, as you pointed out. VVT could be really bad, too.
But it‘s obvious on the market that good mechanical history (recent) manufacturers have a good control on that, but they all struggle with the entertainment/navigation electronics and smartphone integration - all of them.

I want the best and I want it now thinking. 😅

The Ultra Limited is the king…best HD you can get better than street glide or road glide and has everything you need for long distance/touring riding….no need for CVO at all….I’m surprised you don’t have one Danny. Anyway just my opinion.

The bigger issue is that with regard to HD’s claim of the CVO line being the very best that it produces (no doubt the most highly priced), it seemingly does not place any additional steps to assure a CVO owner can ride free without issue..at least coming at of the factory. As far as the seat, before dropping a large amount for a new Saddleman, try the Saddleman gel pads. The Wilburs no doubt is a game changer….it totally changes the ride from piss poor to excellent. Thanks for the review. Ride and be safe.

Because BMW isn‘t perfect either, they‘re full of flaws. The difference is that BMW fixes some, not all issues within the bike series and lesser to the actual bike. Something Harley and Indian mostly don‘t, awaiting a new generation with new features to fix it by using other systems or so many new features to distract from the old problem.

I did the 128 HD Big Bore on my 2017 SGS. Have 25,000 miles riding from coast to coast, from the beaches of the Gulf and Atlantic to the North Cascades in all types of weather (except snow) from temps in the 30's to 110. Solid motor and parts. Only issue is it doesn't like to go slow. City riding stop light to stop light makes way too much heat. F'ng blast to get into the throttle. If I get another touring bike, I would just get a 114, upgrade to a HD torque Stage 2, Fullsac MX exhaust with V&H slip ons, HD Pro & Auto tuner (DYNO tuned), Wilbers or Legend suspension and be good. I can do without the electronics (always problems with fancy electronics).

Harley has customers do their validation, and usually once issues arise, Harley corrects them and offers early adopters an "upgrade kit" at a cost to fix their bike. The new CVO bikes are no different. Never another new Harley for me.

I sold my 2021 CVO after too many problems and replaced it with a Road Guide, only to have that one also break continuously, so I have dumped Harley Davidsons as they are too unreliable for the money you spent. My first bike was $60,000 then the second was $50,000 and got rid of it for $35,000. It's no longer made in the USA but I n Thailand, which is most likely the reason behind it.

No there’s too much money in the aftermarket products. That won’t happen. Most of them make superior products to what HD actually uses and charges you for!
