@@Gia.Goodrich I can't thank you enough for this tutorial. I'm being asked to show up in videos now & it's my worst nightmare. I'm uncomfortable even in public places lately. But when you pose adding the triangles & negative spaces, you exude a confidence that feels almost contagious. You also make "showing up" look as though it could be fun if we don't take ourselves too seriously. Looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful magic!

I generally hate all pictures taken of me, and while I take responsibility for my portion, I have to lay some blame on the photographers for literally NEVER coaching me. When I say never, I mean never. I’ve never been told any of this, and it honestly makes me want to cry. I’ve even paid for professional pictures that end up having bra straps showing, flyaway hairs that are easily spotted, or clothes that have shifted, and they said nothing. Bless you for these tips; I wish I could work with you.

I particularly appreciate how clear and concise these tips are! Like, I could put these in a bullet list and they're easy to remember. Weight on the back foot, "pull that string" and create that "S" curve, create negative space, and anything square with the camera will be viewed at full width. I know there's more too it than that, but I feel like I can actually remember these tips! :D Thanks so much!

even if its two years old? I have a feeling that the same mindset of something being brand new, has crept into your mind and you applied it to videos and if its a year old you look at it with lesser value? is this true Mrs. Williams? I hope your mind is not clouded with pride and egotism that you lie to me don't answer it or just make a excuse I study internet trends on the human mind. like how fb exploited likes for dopamine release. Very helpful. I’m an oil painter. I need to pose people for portraits and figurative paintings. I’m not after beauty shots but people in their relaxed mode and posture that reflects them. I like your direction on how to create curves and negative space because I need to direct poses where diagonals point to the focus of a painting or creates a flow that leads a viewer’s eye around into the painting. Adults usually stiffen. I will be photographing men and woman ….children to elderly. Shadows can also help with creating a focal point. Thank you for your advise.

OMG! Your energy is so infectious! Instant subscriber! 🧡 After Zoom experienced a temporary shutdown, I Googled "How To Look Better On Zoom" and BAM, your video popped up. Watched it and instantly realized I had disappearing neck effect because my laptop is always on my lap desk, not the most stable place, especially after 3 hours of straight Zooming.

Hey this is awesome! I run a small business selling my illustrations on graphic tees. I almost never use professional photographers or models so this is super helpful for me when I'm modeling myself or having friends pose for those iphone shots!

Soooo helpful! Not a photographer I just can’t pose myself for shit. I’m so awkward in photos.

I love your vibrant and positive personality. Thank you for sharing this video. I'm horribly shy when it's time to take pictures. This video has boosted my self esteem for the next opportunity. 😘

One of the best informational videos I've ever seen. To the point, so many helpful tips and the visuals (i.e. the triangles) were so on point - I wish I found you a long time ago! Subscribed...

2022, 40-something looking like 30, but I have always, always, hated looking at my photos! And because of that, I hate having my photos taken. Now I have ideas on how to pose, explained clearly and without drawing it out into a boring mess. Let's see how this goes. Thank you Gia!

When creating negative space: How important is the background? Does it need to be one coloured?

I’m a Posing disaster - so in the world we live in, bless you 😇 the first tip so easy, whatever you want to make look smaller move away from
The camera. something about the chin to the shoulder could work for me. And tucking back loose clothing.
