The best way I've found to choose lenses is to start with one lens. Then you may notice that there are things you wished that lens did. Then choose the next lens to meet that wish

I just converted from Sony to Fuji for everything but wildlife. I bought the 2 lenses you recommended - 35mm (f/1.4 instead of f/2) and 16-80mm f/4. Learned the basics of the Fuji camera, went to my daughter’s graduation, and took the best portraits and landscapes I’ve ever made, along with having the most fun shooting. Fuji is amazing, but you here already knew that.
35 f2 is the one that always stays on my camera. But for my starting kit, 55-200 is a must. Also I do have a 16 f1.4 but I find myself hardly using it.
Man - I can’t tell you what a massive help you’ve been. My wife and I are getting started in photography. We bought an X-T4 and the 23mm f2. Totally love it. Your X-T4 guide and all your videos have been massive for us. Thanks for what you do.
As a novice just entering into the Fuji ecosystem, it took me hundreds of fuji lens reviews to answer to my questions. You just did it in less than 10 minutes. 🙏🙏 Subbed!
I used to have 35mm f1.4. Id say you can never go wrong with it. Compact, image quality was 👌 but it was just too narrow for me. Sold it and went for 23mm f1.4 and never looked back. Only got settled with 2 lenses, the 23mm f1.4 and 18-55 f2.8-f4
I have both the 35mm and the 23mm and I simply don't like the 23mm (I own two different 23mm). Have thought about 27mm and 30mm's but I don't think they have the quality of the 35mm 1.4, I wish fuji did a 27-30mm focusing on quality. In the meantime the 35mm is just fine for me; I don't mind the focal length as much as I dislike the 23mm's distortion.
I was hoping you were going to say mating elephants at least 3 more times! Nikon shooter here. I purchased an X-T2 and the new Fringer adapter to adapt Nikkor lenses to Fuji. I am in love! A Fuji with a 200-500 is fantastic!
Own the 16-55mm, 16mm 1.4, 50-140mm, and 56mm 1.2. I used to own the 16mm 2.8, 23mm f2, 35mm f2, 55-200mm, 50-230mm ii, and the awful (please be gentle lol) 16-80mm. I will never look back at the f2 versions. Although they were nice and compact, I cant go back to them. Something about the 1.4s, even as old as they are, wants me to keep shooting with them. The f2s are a great starting point but optically the 1.4s (and 56 1.2) are in a different league.
@@오오-c2t4i I'm not sure if I had a bad copy, but it was disastrous. The distortion was out of control (even with camera corrections) and the color fringing was unbearable. Mine didnt appear soft (aside from corners) but it didnt do very well against flare. I may have been unlucky with my copy unlike others but I have never looked back unfortunately. I have used zooms before like the 16-55, 15-45, and 18-55...by far the 16-80 was worst for me. The only thing going for it was the ois and wr.
Roman, truly, this is one of a kind video talking about lenses (no matter which brand you are using) 👏🏻 great overview, quite practical and a honest opinion of yours! Loved that !!! As has been said, just get your gear and go for taking photos anywhere & anytime. That's what really makes the difference: enjoying and having fun!!! See ya, blue skies 🤙🏻🍀📸
if you need two lenses with the best image quality and no issue paying the extra price, go for 16mm f1.4 and the 56mm f1.2. one for landscape and another for portrait. sure it may not be zoom lenses, but you can always compensate by just moving around.
@@DerJohnnyWalker a 50mm prime is somewhat similar (barring distortion) to 50mm on a 24-70mm zoom lens. but i guess youre referring to the compression on a diff focal length ie 200mm on a 70-200mm, then yes. but honestly in a normal situation, would you rather carry a heavy 70-200mm to a relatively smaller prime?
Nothing beats the 16-80mm in a one lens trip kind of scenario. I came here because I needed a prime besides that, this video couldn't have been any more spot on.
Roman, for street photography, have you considered the Fuji X100V camera? One 23mm fixed lens, but has a digital teleconverter that allows you to shoot 50mm and 70mm. Fuji uses their interpolation software to enable shooting in 50mm and 70mm. I’ve blown up test images 100% and 200%, and can’t see a difference. When using the teleconverter you can only shoot in jpeg, but I don’t find that a disadvantage for street photography. I used to carry around by X-T2 with the 3 primes you mentioned, but now have replaced that set up with an X100V. As you may know, the X100V uses a leaf shutter, allowing flash sync up to 1/4000 of a second. Also has a 4 stop built in ND filter, and an EVF and OVF viewfinder. Amazing camera.
Oh yes liked it. I am jumping into the Fuji world. I have owned DSLR’s and learned to shoot with 1 prime lens...a 50mm 3.5 Macro. Used it for 12 years and developed all my black and white stuff. Then moved to Fujifilm color transparencies ( slides) which allowed me to shoot and share more. No Flickr or Facebook in the 70’s..haha. In 2017 started to shoot with an amazing little pocket camera with a 28-70mm (35mm) with. 1” sensor. Man it was liberating. Talk about becoming invisible for portrait or street photography, pretty amazing. So my goal with Fuji is to stay small. The more mid range zooms are still a bit of a stretch but the wide angle zooms up to 24 might work in lieu of two primes. Thanks ...love the 500 by the way. Too bad you did not have more time.
I stuck with 23mm for a long time, later added a 50-140 for event work, but then started to miss the longer reach while out on short trips or where you don't know the environment like you say. I thought a mid-range zoom would be a nice solution to leave on my camera for grab and go. Debated both the 16-55 and the 16-80, while the sharpness isn't as good at the edges, the extra reach, size, price and OIS made me pick the 16-80. Pretty happy with it so far!
Both are great, the 16 has the zoom and weather proof, but the 15 clearly has way better autofocus when zooming in and out. The 16 has a hard time holding focus. Love them both. Wish I was able to try every lens 😂
I've got the XT-4 with the 18-55 "kit" lens, 35 f/2 and a third-party lens I don't use. Pretty much rocking the 35 the whole time, but I might be getting into real-estate photography so I have been eyeing the 8-16, which as you said on the discount you got, is about how much they go for second-hand so I'm not opposed to the price.
two years down the line Roman but found that very useful thanks buddy I have a 23mm and in the process of getting the 35mm with an XT3 love your work.......
Hi, fairly new here and really like your videos. Just my opinion, but for travel, the kit lens is fantastic! (18-55) It can still take great street shots. So many benefits. My 35 f/2 stays on the camera otherwise for street. I bought the 70-300mm and it's fabulous too, but really use my DSLR for wildlife. The 18mm f/2 is the only Fuji lens I do not like. Perhaps I'm missing something but on my x-t3 and my x-t20 the photos are terrible.
super helpful video, ive been contemplating switching from my Canon over to the Fuji. One thing i can say though is my Sigma 18-35 is by far my favorite lens. Keep up the amazing content!
Have a look at the xf 55-200. This is a solid compact tele and I have no worries using it for landscapes. Covers more ground in your kit...using it for 2.5 years.
This is very good advice/suggestion, especially for people just getting started in photography, but not for me because I have more Fuji XF lenses than I know what to do with. I found while doing my own non scientific testing (really non scientific hahaha) that my primes 16 f/2.8, 35 f/2 and 50 f/2 are sharper than my zooms at the same angle of view, I’m comparing them to the 16-80 and the 55-200, but I admit that I can only see the difference when pixel peeping the same photo side by side and zoomed in 100%. Stay safe Roman.
ppl who're just getting started dont need these $500 pro primes, one can start with much cheaper zooms, even xc 16-50 (i've started with it and still keep it for the day when i'll get xe3 for less than $400)) is more than enough for startes. ppl who start in photo will spend thier 1st year just learning how to frame correctly and learning what they need glass with f4 or plus most of the time, you'll do that painful expensive trip to f1.4-f2 thinking that your darn need it, and later you'll understand - nope, any decent glass at f4-f5.6 is ok for non portait work (travel, street etc) :-P and extra bonus - using dirt cheap 16-50 in the beginning will allow you to know for sure what prime you'd really need the most. e.g. it allowed me to see right away that i don't need 16, i'd need 14 (or less) or 23/35 first, and i'd need *more* than 50 (rather 70+)
I have all the same lenses except the 16-55, mainly because I tried it a few times, but the copies I tried were flawed optically (due to copy variation). I gave up and settled for the 16-80, which is stellar (as sharp as the 16-55, 23 or 35) between 20mm and 50mm. Optically, it suffers at the extreme wide and long ends, so I would suggest complementing it with a 14, 16, or 90 prime, or the 10-24 and 55-200 or 50-140 zooms. For street, yes agree, the 35/2 by itself or the 23/50 combo is the way to go.
I had the same problem with deciding which lenses to buy with the X-Pro3 back in December 2019. I ended up with the 16-55 f/2.8 for flexibility. It’s quite decent. Eventually I got the 35 f/1.4 for portraits. Considering a telephoto lens in the next year or so. This video is quite relevant, thank you for creating it.
We all have our faves but now that I've started to use the IBIS fuji XS10 I've rediscovered the joy of my old 60mmf2,8 macro. Sure it's slow at focusing but it's light and does great Street and flowers
If you are into portrait photography get 56mm f1.2 . If you are on budget then 18-55mm f2.8-4 . For landscape : 10-24mm , 55-200mm and one prime 35mm f2. For wedding: 16mm f1.4, 23mm f2 or f1.4, 56mm f1.2 , 35mm f2. All in one travel zoom 16-80mm f4. Street photography: 23mm f2, 35mm f2 and 50mm f2.
Having searched the internet especially youtibe channels, your advice is byfar suits my needs and wants. Already pre-purchased my body camera and that is X-T4. Now I think I am 99% to purchase exactly what you have suggested (16-80mm and 35mm) for a starting photographer like me. Thanks for these recommendation. I think you are most capable person to ask with your years of experience using your xt4, can I ask what are some "essential accessories" needed for my first camera and lenses. :) So far I have this list: which I love if you have any brand preference based on your personal experience. - Strap (both neck and wrist) - 1 extra battery (figured it out already) - cleaning kit - hood for both lenses - that "thing" screwed on the clicker - tripod - bag (of course) :) - The reason I wanted to buy these stuff one time big time is due to freight/shipping fee and its delivery period. Right now I am outside U.S. and I will probably buying all these stuff thru amazon and let my wife ship it overseas. Thank you very much in advance and keep safe bro. Stay strong!
Sounds good, the only suggesting I might make is the following..... Do you REALLY need a tripod? will you be doing a lot of locked video (filming yourself) or will you be doing long exposures like trails etc?if so, yes.... if not don't bother. Also rather than a camera bag, look at a camera cube instead to put inside your current bag. I personally use F-Stop cubes and for your kit the small shallow one is really good
@@snapsbyfoxIn that case looks like i might need one. Anyways, been watching most of your videos after I the message you till now. Found your gears on snapsbyfox but I didnt see the small brush i saw in one of those videos. Do you have a link of it? Thanks again.
Street kit: XPro3 with 18mmf2, 23mmf2, 35mmf1.4 and 50mmf2 but on any given day I have just one of those lenses with me, not all four. I pick one from the bag based on, oh, I dunno, my mood. Landscape kit: 16-55mmf2.8 and 55-200mmf3.5-4.5 and Rokinor12mm. I almost never shoot wider than 16mm and rarely longer than 150mm Studio/portrait kit: 35mmf1.4, 56mmf1.2, Super Takumar 50mmf1.4. The 50mm Super Takumar gets more use lately than the 56mm, what a dreamy lens.
Hey Roman another great tips video for our Fuji community. As it happens, I purchased most of those lenses with my original X-T2 all those years ago and that cheers me because I have sometimes flirted with the idea of selling the primes, simply because they don’t get used that much. You changed my mind on that for sure. I really am always pleasantly surprised at the results when I do occasionally use them and it prompts me to try and leave the 18-55 at home and be forced to use them. They really do shrink down the kit size and weight and the balance on the smaller bodied X-T2 is great. But I think the issue that makes me take my go-to 18-55 is its sheer versatility and sheer superb performance. Whenever I shoot with, say the 16mm, it just feels like I’m not getting in close enough a lot of the time…but hey, I’m a shy street photographer and admit, the occasions I got over my nervousness and moved in closer to subjects are definitely the times I got the best out of that prime. Fully agree on the WR choice too though it is a way to shave off cost for those who know they’ll only do fair weather photography. Aperture rings forever - lets hope anyway ;)
I'm considering to switch to Fuji and this was so informative and well done. Thank you! Also, the photos are great and the color grading in the video is dope.
I got the 23 f/2 when I switched to fujifilm and it has been on my camera for about 80% of the time. I so love that camera. Then, I replaced my 18-55 f/2.8-4 lens with the 16-80 f/4. I love it also and it has been on my camera whenever I travelled (pre-COVID). I got the 50 f/2 because of your recommendation, so I have to thank you for that. 😀 been using it mainly for portraits. 😃
The 16-55 is a phenomenal lens with lovely bokeh. It's a heavy beast but the sharpness at f4 compared to the 16-80 must be worth it! I think the next lens for me will be the 23 or 35 f2...
Hello !! This video of yours actually save me 100Euros.😄 Let me tell you how.. actually i bought a XT3 in January and had completely forgotten about claiming the cashback. So , now I have been watching your videos to decide which should be my first prime lens. Anyway, in the end of this video you mention about cashbacks and suddenly my bad brain remembers there was something i had to claim as well. So here I am in front of my camera boxes now claiming the money. and you know the best part. Today is the last day to claim it 😳 (I know, destiny!!) . So thank you for existing !! Loving all your videos and you are the Best !!
As a landscapist, my X-mount line up is the 10-24, 16 f1.4*, 35 f 2 and the 55-200. overs everything I need for stills and video. * I probably don't really need this lens, but it's just so good and is on my X-T3 75% of the time.
First lens i bought was a Pentacon 50mm 1.8, bought an adapter from aliexpress and absolutely love the thing to death. After that I bought a Fuji 35mm 1.4 and I can say that for the fuji system, I got the holy grail with those two. The older one might not be the best vintage nifty 50 but its magical non the less. And the 35? What a beauty, absolute magical lens. Only missing a decent sub 20mm lens to cover pretty much every focal length I like to shoot with, the original XC 16mm kit just doesn't cut it for me. It's definitely missing that je ne sais quoi.
My experience with Fuji so far is that, is that you can easily go for the safe trio of the 23mm f2.0(/1.4,in my opinion if you can afford this lens over the 2.0 there is no downside other than the fact that the 2.0 fits in pockets easily).Same logic applies on the 35mm even though some people will stick with the f2.0 for reasons I don't quite get. Finally the expensive lens of the three is the zoom lens of 50-130 f2.8 which even though I never used zoom lenses before i love. With the kit mentioned above you will have a safe bet that you will not end up selling any gear anytime soon and that you will understand quite fast if there is something you miss like a longer focal length lens or a fish eye lens,i am pretty confident suggesting these three lenses even to people that are not into street photography or that haven't been familliar with wide angle lenses on the past.
As a person who's just planning to enter into the Fuji system, I find your video very useful. Thx! There is one thing that bothers me. I've already watched a ton of videos on different Fiji lenses, read their tests, watched the samples, and I noticed that barely anyone ever mentions the 27mm pancake lens as their favourite. Can you guys, share your opinion on this lens? Do you consider it a good all-around lens for a street photography? Or, to put it differently, why would you pick 23/2 or 35/2 rather than 27/2.8 as your "everyday, walking" lens? I know it's one step slower but it is rarely crucial factor in the street photography. Tests I read suggest that optically it is quite good, so? Why so little love for it? I personally love pancake lens (it started with the love affair I had with my Pentax 40mm limited and then continued when I was in the Samsung NX system) and I'd love to use it as my "basic" lens for walking outside with my camera (with no specific photo "objectives" in mind), but I'd like to know your opinion if this is a good idea before I'll make my mind. In the beginning I'm going to buy two primes for my Fuji system. One of them is going to be a 50/2 - that's beyond any doubts. What would you pick as a second: 23/2, 35/2, or 27/2.8 and, most importantly, why?
That 16-55 2.8 is my lens of choice for pretty much everything. I ALWAYS have that with me even if I don't plan on using it. It took me a while to even consider buying a prime in its focal range because it's so good.
Great video, love the keep it simple approach, it’s the honest and rational one. I personaly somehow ended up with the 18-55 kit lens, a superb 80 f2.8 macro, a 16 1.4 and 56 1.2, all great lenses if a bit on the expensive side, for everyday use anyway. Cheers!
My X-Pro2 used to freeze every 30-40 clicks. I used to take the battery out and it would work again but after a few months I returned it to Fuji who replaced the motherboard. Works brilliantly now. The freezing is not normal.
Bro, i just bought my xt4 and your videos are really helpful. Im from Mexico and i enjoy your chanel and aprecciate your recommendations. Thanks for all
@@EastWestTwin I have the 90f2 and its sharp as f*%k and I have the 50f1 also sharp as... but the f1 is unusable outside. I use them in the studio. Works perfect.
This was very helpful. Particularly the 16-80 mention. I’m about to buy my 1st Fujifilm camera and wasn’t sure if I should get that lens with it or go for the cheaper option kit. I’m from London too by the way!
Very interesting video, and I found out I ended up with a kit quite similar : - The old but still great 10-24mm (only drawback no WR) - the 60mm macro for the longer shot, the autofocus is slower but the newer body compensate a little and I get the macro for a small size. - the 35mm f2 - the 27mm mark2 And the 27mm is almost glued on the body, With the 60mm for details. I was hesitant so far for the telezoom due to the overall size Vs body. I will give it a look before our next travel. Stéphane
Excellent video...jam packed! But I kinda hate the images from my Fuji 35/f2! I always fall back on my 27mm/2.8. Every time I try the 35/f2 I'm disappointed. People say the 35 is the stuff but I just can't seem to use it well.
Having recently switched to Fuji after 7 years shooting a trio of Olympus Pen-f's and all their compact primes, I debated whether to go with the "Fujicrons" or go all in with the "Fujilux" lenses - based on my research at the time of making my decision, the lack of image quality at the edges for the f/2 primes when shot wide open was the determining factor in my going all in on the faster fuji primes. I still can't wrap my head around the 50mm lens lineup (f/2 and f/1) as I come from the days of classic focal lengths and the 56 f/1.2 is right in that sweet spot for me. combined with the 23 f/1.4 those are my go to focal lengths when carrying a single body (I shoot with a total of 3 XE-2's in my documentary, street and travel work for my clients and personal projects - I know those bodies are old but at what point does one need anything more?). I've never liked using zooms and that's probably because I go all the way back to the late 80's when I worked at daily and small town newspapers as a photojournalist. We shot only fast primes back then and old habits die hard for me. It's my personal opinion only, but I think zooms make for lazy photography. Using primes you have to be more mindful of the images you make and since I was taught to fill the viewfinder even in marginal lighting, the fast primes were a no brainer decision on that front as well.
Excellent trio of primes also own the small 16mm f2,8 & the 18mm f2,0 much improved with firmware and especially newer bodies One on body and two lenses in in two jacket pockets great street walk about city kit ! Zoom kit the XF 10-24mm f4 & XF 18-135mm both OIS job done always shop around for good used gear :) And please use a lens hood all the time !
I love the footage of you enjoying the beautiful Scottish weather. Ha ha ha. As always, another great video. I always learn something from your stuff. Keep up the good work!
I got almost every fujifilm lens, my fav is 35 F2. And the lens i broke 3 times and bought it 3 times 18-55 for some reason the best kit lens out there. and versatile. a bit Chunky but hey does the job.
I have exactly the 16/80 and 35f2! Sometimes the 35 is a little too narrow and I was thinking about switching to the 23, but I'm afraid that it could be too wide for portrait or in general as a the only prime in my gear (as an amateur, I cannot justify having two).
this video was simply amazing. i'm looking to get my first fuji camera, the x-e4. i'm planning to get one lens and do street & portrait photography and some videos with it. before, i was considering the 27mm f2.8 wr but this video changed my mind. i gonna wait for sales and get the camera with the 35mm f2. thank you.
I've finished my collection after exchanging all my Nikon ... 2x xt4's I just have to ✋ wait for lockdown to lift .. I've gone 23f2 and 50f2. I agree the 1655 and 50140 are Great 👍
Good advice here. I say one wide, one normal, and one tele. I shoot on a Nikon Df with a 50 mounted on it, and a 24 and a 135 in my bag. Covers most anything. Never enjoyed zooms.
I find your videos very entertaining, it's like: oh, there is a like minded guy, taking photography serious! It's like a conversation, after each of your statements I respond in my mind according to my own experience with fuji lenses...one more thing though: bring some life/color into your living space! man, it looks like a motel room! Take some time for that! ;) your soul will thank you.
what I take with me: landscape: 16/1.4 and 50-140/2.8, street: 35/1.4 or 23/2.0, portrait: 56/1.2 and 35/1.4 (love the look), holidays: 16-80/4.0 -and maybe the 55-200 - don't know what's going to happen: 16-55 and 50-140 :) on X-E4 and X-H1
My kit consists of a used 18-55 f2.8-4, an xc 35mm f2, and a couple of m42 mount pentax (takumar) primes. Haven't found a need for a new lens since. Between the fuji autofocus lenses and the tack sharp pantax vintage lenses, I cover from 18-200mm at many different aperatures.
Over the years I have collected affordable takumar primes getting a feel for lens sizes, adapting them to Sony, then fujifilm. Now days I am slowly collecting the fujifilm versions that meet my desires where the primes fell short, or are just too heavy
Open Box prices can also be good bargains as my X-T4 & 16-55 were. 35 f2 on e bay from a guy just up the road. I 'm also reviewing my last two international trips photos exif files for the focal length most used. It's a good marker for future purchases. & what to pack. 23 & 35 are a perfect X-E4 fit.Actually leaving my 70-300 at home for my upcoming international vacation.

I agree! The 35mm f2 doesn't come off my camera when I go out for street photography. I love keeping things simple and minimal on the street.
I just did exactly the same, but the graduation portraits… awesome… what lense comes next?
35 f2 is the one that always stays on my camera. But for my starting kit, 55-200 is a must. Also I do have a 16 f1.4 but I find myself hardly using it.

The f2s are a great starting point but optically the 1.4s (and 56 1.2) are in a different league.
why did you hate 16-80?
@@오오-c2t4i I'm not sure if I had a bad copy, but it was disastrous. The distortion was out of control (even with camera corrections) and the color fringing was unbearable. Mine didnt appear soft (aside from corners) but it didnt do very well against flare. I may have been unlucky with my copy unlike others but I have never looked back unfortunately. I have used zooms before like the 16-55, 15-45, and 18-55...by far the 16-80 was worst for me. The only thing going for it was the ois and wr.
@@towncaptain7 thanks for sharing your thoughts. I’m having hard time choosing between 16-55 and 16-80 with T4. +1 for 1655 then!
Very useful. Sold my X-100V because there are times I ”need” a different lens. But I will stay in the Fuji family. I subscribed 👍
Just bought an X-T3 and 35mm f2 so this video is super helpful for me!
@@snapsbyfox I picked up a Fringer adapter as well to use my Canon glass and it works shockingly well.
if you need two lenses with the best image quality and no issue paying the extra price, go for 16mm f1.4 and the 56mm f1.2. one for landscape and another for portrait. sure it may not be zoom lenses, but you can always compensate by just moving around.
Zooming and walking are not the same, because you change perspective by changing your distance to your subject.
I came here because I needed a prime besides that, this video couldn't have been any more spot on.
if you are mighty wildlife photographer, picture of elephants and i died 😂😂😂😂
Thank you, I am used to my kit lens, i do a lot of street photography so i will start using my 35 mm more. SUBSCRIBED
Came here for the advices, and stayed for the amazing photographs!! Wow!
Thanks for your recommendations. I know this is an old video but I really find these useful in 2022!
Most people don't like 18 f2, its slow to focus, loud and misses focus a lot
Ive seen a Fujifilm 56mm f 1.2 lens in the catalog, when I lived in Alaska it was dark for most of the winter, fast lenses was where it was at.
super helpful video, ive been contemplating switching from my Canon over to the Fuji. One thing i can say though is my Sigma 18-35 is by far my favorite lens. Keep up the amazing content!
Moved to Fuji earlier this year and started with XT4, 16-80 and 35 f2 for exactly reasons you suggested 😀👍. Next on list is 10-24 I think 🤔
Have a look at the xf 55-200. This is a solid compact tele and I have no worries using it for landscapes. Covers more ground in your kit...using it for 2.5 years.
I have the 16-80 and have to agree it's an amazing lens. I almost didn't buy any other lens is that good but fancied some primes.
Fantastic! Great interview without hearing a question. Really enjoyable.
After shooting with Canon the past 6 years, I’ve switched to Fuji. Thanks for the video, trying to figure the best lenses to get.
So far I have this list: which I love if you have any brand preference based on your personal experience.
- Strap (both neck and wrist)
- 1 extra battery (figured it out already)
- cleaning kit
- hood for both lenses
- that "thing" screwed on the clicker
- tripod
- bag (of course) :)
-
The reason I wanted to buy these stuff one time big time is due to freight/shipping fee and its delivery period.
Thanks again.
recently got the 50-140 for cheap and it is AAMAZING! fast focus and the OIS is really good in it as well for video!
Thanks. This has been part of my pre-checking before I move to Fuji (xt4). Very useful.
I got the 35 F2 and 16-80 F4 - fantastic lenses. 🎉
It took me a while but I finally found my ideal travel/ street lens set. The 18mm f1.4 and 50mm f2 for a XT4.
Roman,
Honest and to the point what anyone would need to know. Well done and thank you.
Thanks for the video man. Just got myself a 35f2 after 2 years using the kitlens. Still trying it out..
I almost never shoot wider than 16mm and rarely longer than 150mm
Studio/portrait kit: 35mmf1.4, 56mmf1.2, Super Takumar 50mmf1.4. The 50mm Super Takumar gets more use lately than the 56mm, what a dreamy lens.
This is my go to. 27mm f2.8 II is always glued on my camera, 16mm f1.4 for my wide angle and close up needs, 56mm f1.2 for my bokeh portraits.
I think the next lens for me will be the 23 or 35 f2...
yeah. lives on my xt3.
Im not sure if i should spend 900CAD more for the 16-55 vs 16-80 bundled with the xt4. Can’t try em out :(
Solid recommendations, as usual. Thank you.
„23mm is a documentary lense“ I couldn’t agree more!
The photos on your 50mm are insanely beautiful 👌
thanks for the effort and the sharing. i have the x-t1 and the 35/f2. both bought used. both just lovely. stay well. thumbs up.
Dude!!! Great video!! I like your honest and blunt way of talking!! Great job bro! Keep it up!!
That 16-55 2.8 is my lens of choice for pretty much everything. I ALWAYS have that with me even if I don't plan on using it. It took me a while to even consider buying a prime in its focal range because it's so good.
Man, your review gave a great understanding of what lens to buy for my xt4. Keep it up Roman.Awesome😊
I love your colour grading. Is it available to purchase?
Great video, love the keep it simple approach, it’s the honest and rational one. I personaly somehow ended up with the 18-55 kit lens, a superb 80 f2.8 macro, a 16 1.4 and 56 1.2, all great lenses if a bit on the expensive side, for everyday use anyway. Cheers!
My X-Pro2 used to freeze every 30-40 clicks. I used to take the battery out and it would work again but after a few months I returned it to Fuji who replaced the motherboard. Works brilliantly now. The freezing is not normal.
I recently switched from the Canon system to the Fujifilm system and love the 35 F2 and 16-80 F4 lenses so far.
I wish fuji made a 28 f2 so i could pair with a 16-80 and my 18. I have never gotten on with the 35mm (50mm equiv) focal length 😕
Dude is so straightforward.Love it
Which lens would you recommend for mating elephants?
Bro, i just bought my xt4 and your videos are really helpful. Im from Mexico and i enjoy your chanel and aprecciate your recommendations. Thanks for all
I love the „Fujicron“ series, too. Good Job, man.
Have you shot with the 90mm f/2 ? It is 🔥🔥🔥
@@snapsbyfox the sharpness is real!
Hey Roman, thanks for the video is really helpful. Are you using the inbuilt microphone for this video?
Very interesting video, and I found out I ended up with a kit quite similar :
- The old but still great 10-24mm (only drawback no WR)
- the 60mm macro for the longer shot, the autofocus is slower but the newer body compensate a little and I get the macro for a small size.
- the 35mm f2
- the 27mm mark2
And the 27mm is almost glued on the body, With the 60mm for details.
I was hesitant so far for the telezoom due to the overall size Vs body. I will give it a look before our next travel.
Stéphane
The 60mm macro is a great portrait lens as well, that hardly anyone seems to know about.
Thanks so much! My XT4 goes a long with 16-55, 50-140, 23F2. Tryna got 50F2, 90, 100-400 to join the gang 😁
Excellent trio of primes also own the small 16mm f2,8 & the 18mm f2,0 much improved with firmware and especially newer bodies One on body and two lenses in in two jacket pockets great street walk about city kit !
Zoom kit the XF 10-24mm f4 & XF 18-135mm both OIS job done always shop around for good used gear :)
And please use a lens hood all the time !
16-55 mm & 80 m macro are my go to
🙋
I love the footage of you enjoying the beautiful Scottish weather. Ha ha ha. As always, another great video. I always learn something from your stuff. Keep up the good work!
I got almost every fujifilm lens, my fav is 35 F2. And the lens i broke 3 times and bought it 3 times 18-55 for some reason the best kit lens out there. and versatile. a bit Chunky but hey does the job.
Excellent coverage. Thanks. Love my Fuji. Curious what you would suggest for a macro option. The 80mm is expensive but sounds impressive.
Cheers! hmm not sure man, never shot Marco in my life tbh
Ive just bought a x-t4! So this is so helpful :)
Outstanding pics and review. Thank you for posting.
Great video, considering getting the XT4 - Do you film these videos on the XT4?
Informative video. I really like your compositions. And great to see that you use "standard" 35mm. Also my favourite lens
