I’ve tried out a number of Fuji lenses and I’ve sold a few. My top pics are now the 18 1.4 LM the 23 1.4 LM the 33 1.4 LM. 50 F2 56 1.2 WR. 90 F2, 16-55 2.8. Sold the 10-24, hardly ever used it. Sold the 50-200, too soft. My three favorite lenses have now become the 18 1.4, the 33 1.4 and the 56 1.2 WR. I’m mostly doing street with the primes. For the lenses without linear motors, I would suggest using the limit focus at 6.5 to infinity, I find it speeds up the auto focus quite a bit. You don’t end up with the hunting problem.
I'd mostly agree. The 16-55 was just too big for me. Sold that one. My 50-140 I don't know if I've ever even used. I like Fuji for the smaller lenses. I really like the 30mm macro. I'd add that to your list.
I love my 16-80! Picture quality seems just as good if not better than other primes I have and it's such a versatile range, going from wide to lower end of telephoto in a somewhat compact package. It's a little heavier than I would like but it's the "do it all" lens I reach for most. Maybe you weren't excited by yours since you have other zooms that cover most of the same focal range that are already in your collection, but I think it's the most versatile lens pick for someone starting a collection from scratch.
My top lenses are 23mm f/1.4 WR (favorite focal length), 30mm macro (fun & pocketable with great chromatic aberration control, although mid-frame & edges do get soft), 56mm f/1.2 WR (love the sharpness & bokeh that looks a little hyperreal), and possibly 18mm f/1.4 (nice & sharp, but not sure yet if it's right for me). Lenses that I don't use often or sold are: 16mm f/1.4 (love the focal length, but thick chromatic aberrations ruined a number of shots), 33mm f/1.4 (got outshined by the 56mm), 80mm macro (too big, but I love the swirly bokeh you can get with foliage for portraits), 16-55 (too big). I've been curious to try the 70-300, the images you've shared from it are always beautiful. 😊
everybody would make a totally different playlist, but the interesting thing is why ? Because a lens is a tool, there is no perfect tool but there's always a right tool. Always cool content man! :)
If I had a 40 mp Fuji camera the first lens I would buy would be 23mm 1.4. By cropping you can have different focal length. For portrait I would get the 56mm and 90mm. 50mm f2 would be useful for street photography
I think the choice is pretty psychological. I love my 33m f1.4, even though I'm not very good at it yet, because I love attempting strong compositions with its natural look I don't want the crutch of 's*xy distortion and wallpaper backgrounds' from shorter focal lengths or 's*xy bokeh and background exclusion' from dedicated portrait lenses. I want to have to treat the background like a second subject, because it's close but not so close that you can't see it properly.
I find myself using 16mm and 33mm f1.4 as my main setup when I travel. I need to get hold of the 70-300 to complete this setup for longer trips. 23mm f2 is my everyday lightweight carry. I was wondering, have you tried the sigma 10-18 ? I'm thinking of carry it for travel and hikes if it is any good. Otherwise great content, you're one of the reasons I bought the 33.
I'm using sigma 10-18 now for landscape or architecture photography. It's a compact and lovely lens, but...the image quality is bad in 18mm f2.8 when close focus. But Tamron 11-20 doesn't have this problem. The other aspects are very nice, the image quality is pretty good (though I don't think it can meet 4000w pixels). (I'm learning English. Forgive me if I use the wrong words )🤣
As far as the XF16-80 it’s as you mentioned, many conflicting reports on it, maybe I just got a good copy, but I’m more than happy with the results (image quality) that I get, most of the negatives that I hear on the lens are issues when focusing in video mode. The XF23 f/2 is my everyday carry on my X-T1 (it’s my X100VI wannabe🤣), For my X-T4 my favorite prime is the XF33 f/1.4 and my favorite zoom is the XF70-300. Be well.
Same set up for my XT3 16-80, 331.4, 23f2, 70-300 happy traveller with these . Got a very good copy of the 16-80. If it's good enough for Andy Mumford it's plenty good for me ,some like to hate it.
I’m a fan of the older lenses…..18 f2….35 f1.4……56 f1.2 and in the process of getting the 90 f2…..all these on my xpro2…..really good fun to shoot with, everyday….
I wonder you put new 23 f1.4 and f2 on the same tier 😅 I've just moved to Fujifilm recently, and got 18 f1.4 and 33 f1.4 (happy to see them on S tier) For lighter day, I'm researching between 23 f2 or 27 f2.8 (can't decided yet)
Did you try the original 56mm f1.2 on a recent body? Going from the x-s10 (where it felt more miss than hit below f2 and like you were fighting tje lens), to the xt5, it is a completely different focusing experience (now eye tracking works like a charm -and that was on fw 2.0). This is includes 'fast' portrait subject that fidget like anything (i.e. my 1 to 5 years kids)
Tha is for video (it is great, as always) and response. Obv no need to consider the older lens if you have the WR, but perhaps useful for people looking for a really fast portrait on a budget (with newer Fuji).
Salut Thierry! I like these kinds of videos. I know it's subjective but... we seem to agree on all the lenses almost perfectly (at least the ones I have). The only difference is that the 70-300mm I would give as an "S". I think it's stellar! I need something wide and was thinking of the 16mm 1.4 but concerned how it will be with my XH2s. Thank you.

Totally agree! It is a complete subjective list and I am interested to see what people think as well.
The right tool for the job! Thanks for watching!

It might be worth it to change the title to "Ranking All Fujifilm X Lenses" -- here I clicked thinking you were covering the GFX offerings as well!

Thanks. I never tried the sigma sorry!

@@ghostofgw7781 LOL, I completely agree with you on the Andy Mumford comment.
Great video! I’ve got the viltrox 75mm 1.2 and it’s amazing has anyone got it?
The best lens I own. It is stunning for both portraits and mid-tele landscapes. So much beautiful detail in the photos I get from it
I’m a fan of the older lenses…..18 f2….35 f1.4……56 f1.2 and in the process of getting the 90 f2…..all these on my xpro2…..really good fun to shoot with, everyday….
This is the best all Fuji lenses rating video. Thx
Thanks a lot 🙏

Purely because of the focal, just not a huge fan of it but yeah maybe it deserves an S tier

I tried it on the XT4 only but after that I kind of gave up on the lens honestly. Possibly better but I don’t know.

Content qu’on soit d’accord 😉
I finally sold 16mm 1.4. Because its Purple edge is very serious in F1.4.(I'm learning English. Forgive me if I use the wrong words 🤣)
@@ThierryGibralta bien sûr !
Haha your list is a little different than mine 😅 good list though!
Ahah thanks! 🙏
Cheers to you!
So what do you think about my tier list?
