I have one of these, it’s brilliant. Yes, test test test before you venture out, I ran mine for 4 hours on high & low. The wattage of the power supply is 144 watts. 12volts x 12 amps = 144. Thanks for the review. 👍 from Wales 🏴 U.K.
Good review. I try to buy American whenever possible (followed by European, Australian, and Japanese). Chinese products are usually last on my list, although sometimes it just can't be avoided. That being said, it seems to be a decent unit. Will be interesting to see how it performs in the field.
@@theezeelife292 for me it completely depends on what the item is. There’s certain things I refuse to compromise on and always buy quality or the best and then there’s other things that I don’t mind cheaping out on. Such as my crappy fleet of 20 year old vehicles 😅
Thank you for posting this video.. I just ordered this heater yesterday, and then found your video this morning.. But I still feel like I did the right thing by ordering the heater. Too many people just can't seem to understand that you can't run these heaters with a small battery. I have two 100 amp lithium ion batteries and I don't mess around with "power stations". I find humor in some of these complaints from people. I'm so anxious to get my new heater. It should be easy enough to find a short piece of pipe that outlet size, and epoxy it to that with some heat resistant epoxy,or something to that effect. The looks of the unit , and the silence of that pump is the reason I ordered the heater . I'm excited to get it and try it.. Thanks again for your video.👍
I Was able to attach the hose without any extra supplies. Hard to explain but I threaded it on between the side of the toolbox and the outlet, so it is on there good now.
Had mine for almost 2 weeks now, & it’s ran faultlessly so far. Fired up on first go with no smoke at all (wasn’t expecting that) These people that complain about the amperage on startup blowing fuses etc, then giving bad reviews, should be ashamed of themselves, as it’s “user error” that’s the problem. They don’t come with a cigarette lighter plug for a reason, so why assume that you can use one? Just use a proper power source & no more problem. As for the duct pipe not fitting, I bought an adapter off eBay, (very cheap) & that grips on nice & snug, then attach the duct pipe to that. If I were to rate this machine, it would be 4.8⭐️…………..you get a lot for very little $
Yes it has both of those options. The thermostat option is only going to work if you put the controller panel in the space you are heating. If its sitting on the heater outside your tent/space, it wont work right because the temp sensor for the t-stat is on the controller.
Can you do a video on how to use the control panel? Like for temperature settings, gear mode, switch on and off with a timer.. Etc.. That would be really handy.. My Chinese is not good enough to figure it out, even changing the time is too hard😂.. cheers
@@JanGroeger I saw somewhere where they claimed it was weatherproof but I’m here to tell you you would want to do some sealing first. There is no weather stripping on the lid. Or the small lids that hold the remote and the controller they would just fill up with water for sure. I’m sure it with would with stand a sprinkle but I wouldn’t leave it out in a storm
@@FlawedOffroad The 209$ one is listed as "8KW". The 189$ one is the 5KW version. My advice is stick with the 5K. It is virtually identical to the 8K, and should be quite adequate. 5K is what I am going with.
That clicking is the sound of the dosing pump. It is magnetic and every time it pops it pushes a little bit of fuel from inside the housing to the line that goes toward your heater. The reason they're allowed is because it is metal to metal inside the pump. Amazon offers a quieter pump for less than $50 but it still makes some noise. There is also a little damper that is available that fits in your fuel line between the pump and the heater which will assist in making it quieter. The entire pump can be wrapped up in sound deadening material also which helps. Now you know. I have had two of these heaters and I just bought one like he has here because I'm tired of the noise from the other two and I'm going to give this thing a chance.. I've done a lot of research on these. The people who complain about having power shortages are people who do not understand that you must have a big enough battery to run the heater
@@danieltimisan6820 yeah sure. They sent me the heater yeah. Pretty sure they wouldn’t be happy if they paid me to talk about the bad reviews and problems with it lol
My thoughts exactly. I thought this was a fair review. The reason I watch this video is because I just ordered the same heater from Amazon even after I have read some of the bad reviews that it got. I'm sorry, but there are a lot of stupid people in this world. I want a heater I can put in the floor of my van or take it out and use it in my tent and this one is by far the quietest pump in any of the cheaper heaters ,even though this one cost like 200 bucks. The heat chamber in the pump and a lot of the electronics are the same on every one of these heaters regardless of what package they're in. I ordered mine, and like this guy says... I cross my fingers and hope for the best. From everything I've seen I think it'll be a good heater.

Great review. Really like how you addressed the negative amazon reviews.
My experience with it was not reflecting the rating I saw, so I had to dig into it a bit. Thanks for checkin it out!

Ill have to look into that adapter, got a link?
I have the H calory version looks exactly the same works well but pump clicking is very loud.
Nice vid. Is that heater programmable to turn off/on at certain times of day? And does it have a thermostat where it maintains a temperature? Thx

Do you think a 12v dc plug that's on a 15amp fuse would be alright for running it??
@@mattmartinolc maybe, as long as it was actually rated for that and somebody didn’t just put a 15 amp fuse in it instead of a 10

Do you think the unit can stay in rain?

Many people build a bit of a makeshift shelter for it if they keep it outside.
How long does a tank of diesel last?
There's no real answer to that question. It varies wildly based on how hard the heater is running, temp set etc
Don’t open the lid while it’s running . It will lay on the exhaust pipe and melt a 1 inch groove in it
Yikes, I guess that depends where you have the pipe routed.
twice as much as the vevor one though $209.99 now amps x volts = watts 10x300 = 3000 watts that clicking is the fuel dropping into the burn chamber
