Thanks for this video, others I watched had nice clean parts. Mine are rusty, dented trail beaten. Will look to your channel for future fixes.
Great video. The CB radio is a fine compliment to the jamboree.
I have to wonder how much of a difference some of the extra difficult sections would be if the passenger hopped out? Try it a second time, minus the three hundred lbs.?
@@markthomas4083 well my passenger is 100 lbs and she gets out on all the obstacles anyway lol. Video is 3 years old so it’s a little late to try again.
I appreciate the illustrations.
another clueless "expert" - power goes to the wheel with least traction. Hah! Power does not go anywhere. Power is a measurement of work done. If you mean the force that moves your truck (torque) - that force (torque) always goes equally to both wheels. No matter what you believe. S cience is not about believing. Get your physics book ot. Torque in an open diff is ALWAYS applied equally to both wheels.
@@77uhlen tell that to the one tire in the air spinning while the other one sits there as useless as some dude in his moms basement being a dick in RUclips comments. Yeah sure maybe there’s some stupid equation that says the same amount is being applied on both sides. but in reality where most people live, when one slips it’s the only one that moves and the other one does nothing. Doesn’t take an “expert” to figure that out. So sorry my terminology isn’t up to your standards.
do you need to set backlash and pre load again if only doing a carrier / ring gear swap?
@@coltenwaldhaus5741 backlash and pattern yeah. And if depth or anything needs to change then yes you will end up having to redo preload as well. You might get lucky and put the new stuff in and it’s bang on. All you can do is check lash and run a pattern and see. I did a gear setup video recently if you want to check that out
@@FlawedOffroad thanks!
If you have a bare end, tie a series of constrictor or clove hitches across drum, it'll bite and avoid losing the rope off the drum in an inopertune time. It will also stop any slipping around on a roughed up drum.
I’m just wanting to build an overland suburban. I’ve been thinking about ox lockers for yrs. It’s a budget build so it’s better money spent imo because I don’t need all the extra stuff to have a locker. But the caveat to my hesitation is there’s a lot of people who talk trash on the OX lockers. Is it because they are actually bad or is it because everyone is in a money spending competition? I also like the idea of making everything mechanical and is what I’m building my barn door burb around. NV4500, OX lockers, NP205/203 doubler with triple stick. I’m also potentially keeping it TBI and just going through it with a fine tooth comb and getting it running perfect because it’s just rock solid reliable and it’s capable of cheap upgrades plus a cam upgrade. Long story short I just want to build the truck once and drive it. It’ll only see off-road once in a blue moon so I’m probably just going with a Dana 44/ 14 bolt full float setup.
They should be busy talking trash about arb cause those are the ones that suck. constantly leaking air and you have to tear diff apart to fix. I've had the ox in my rear axle for years with not a single hiccup. I do use the air shift option but I could easily switch to cable, plus what other locker comes with a $25 part you can install to permalock it if desired? Ox is super under rated for whatever reason. But im not out here trying to change minds, I just do what works for me and share it. Good luck on the build!
@@FlawedOffroad you’re the first person that’s actually used them to reply. They’ve been around for yrs but never see recent reviews on them. So OX has an air option?
@@kylewest100 yes you can take one of their lockers and you can connect a cable, you can actuate it with air, or you can get an electric solenoid so they have all three options. And you can switch between them if you really wanted to
that was fun.
Awesome video!! Really enjoyed watching.
@@_JP18 thanks it was fun to make. I’ve got another one in the works now
Nice video! What impact gun is that running a dewalt battery?

@FlawedOffroad thank you! And thanks for putting the time and effort into making these great videos for the jeep community. Adventure on!
The man is not kidding about these Chinese manifolds and headers. I have not found one yet where at least one hole is misaligned.
I can almost smell the oil in your garage... 😀
@@norrisheckwine7439 not sure if that’s a compliment or an insult but you’re not wrong lol.
Yankum stuff is to expensive for me .. $1240 plus tax and shipping for this kit. gezzzzz
I hear ya. Print instructions!
Dumb question - the original manifold didnt have a 2nd hole in it like the one you installed - what is that other hole for? Does anything need to plug into that or does that just stay open?
@@brianmegill2230 probably another o2 sensor for newer engines or something. It came with a plug and a copper washer to plug it
Did you say "measure none-ce? lol
@@DaddyJeepGarage yes sir! Lol
@@DaddyJeepGarage I better trademark that saying cuz I say it all the time😅
There seems to be a correlation between drilled holes not lining up and cutting a board straight😂😂😂
@@kidd7359 my holes always drift while I’m drilling, I probably push too hard lol
@@FlawedOffroad one more reason I need to hurry up and invent the laser guides. To make it easier to drill perpendicular, not just for straight centered holes
Use the original jack to open the space, put in a long piece of 2X4, let the origianl jack down, set the new one in the spot. You work too hard. Also, the smallest vice grips make a handle in 5 seconds
@@Siskiyous6 we all do things the stupid way sometimes. Especially when trying to make a video sometimes you just go with it and don’t put a lot of thought into it.
Good job man.. those underneath installs and video capture is tough. I just finished posting a video on my metalcloak control arm install. Great job buddy.
yeah def have to use the action camera to get a wide enough angle
Yeah, I'm with you on the QR code thing. Maybe it's just the Gen-X in me, but I much prefer paper instructions, especially when my hands and arms are covered in oil, grease, and who knows what else. Plus, I would be looking at my phone under the vehicle and drop it right on my forehead or glasses. A little trick on those tubes, a little Vaseline goes a long way, but spitting on it seemed to work good enough. Great video, Dan. Looking forward to the next one.
@@theezeelife292 I install shit for a living, 95% of it I don’t need instructions I have it memorized but some of the stuff is complicated and I’ve learned it’s faster and easier to just use them vs being hard headed and guessing lol.
@@FlawedOffroad I learned that lesson the hard way. Lol.
Definitely appreciate the sentiment. Since we started 15 years ago, we have not put paper instructions in our products. By having downloadable PDFs that you can print at home, we have been able to constantly update instructions based on customer feedback and provide options for those who prefer to just keep it on their phone or pad. The use of QR codes is a recent thing to more easily direct you to our full list of downloadable PDFs.
@@metalcloak you definitely make a good product. I've talked to several people who use your products and are very satisfied with them. Personally, you don't make products specific to my application, but please don't think that's a knock against you.
@@theezeelife292 Thank you. Just wanted to share why we started doing the QR codes and why we do instructions the way we do.
I just did ball joints, noticed it's probably time for u joints while I was down there. You did a great job explaining, and I actually don't feel too bad about doing these now. Thanks!
Good luck! its not too bad just takes a little patience
Loved this! I live in Eagle River WI and I have to say the winters tend to be shorter the closer to the lake or warmer the further south you go. I’m in the snow belt, a term I’d never heard before moving here. We are still having a lot of friction between snowmobiles and property owners so I’m not sure how a map could stay accurate from season to season. (We also had a higher number than normal of snowmobiler deaths this past winter.) Can’t wait to see your other videos!
@@normadycuspennycuff2890 the majority of my videos are working on the vehicles, I don’t get out on enough adventures. But I was up there in that area again last weekend so there will be another video coming soon
There is not a fire tower on that road anymore, I was excited about it too but all that’s left is the cement block foundation where the tower was bolted to

What lift do you have
A video of your build would be great. I also have F250 axles, but my ride is rough. I want a soft ride. Help
I dont have a lift, I have a bunch of carefully selected parts that made the jeep bigger lol. if you go back to the beginning of my channel all those videos show what stuff I used
Pretty sure that 200$ fairlead will prevent me from ever buying a Yankum product, just sayin, nice stuff but...no thanks, thats crazy, to charge an extra 160$ for zero reason during these times.
This stuff is premium and usa made, if you want cheap chinese junk theres plenty out there. Its just like anything else in this world, you want the good stuff it costs more. $40 would barely cover the chunk of aluminum. much less the cost of machining and anodizing and being usa built. And god forbid a little bit of profit to make it worth doing
@@FlawedOffroad A little bit? lol..if it was 100$ it would be reasonable, keeping in mind the conscious decision to support the product as American made, but jacking prices like that is what forces people to buy elsewhere, simple economics. Aluminum is 1.70$ a pound..just sayin
I did not hear you mention having a Jack, a handy man Jack, is that something you carry? Great video! Thank you for the good thoughts,
@@clarksmith2506 I have a high lift but it’s not mounted to my jeep. Sometimes I bring it with on the trailer. Right now it’s actually mounted to my little off-road trailer that I use with a different jeep for camping
Brilliant! Just got my own press and will have to do some of these mods especially the plastic alignment pins for sure!
Just get a milwaukee box
They don’t fit in the back of a yj lol. I’ve changed this setup several times since this video, it never stays the same cause I bring different stuff based on where I go and even which Jeep I take
I just watched your video on you building your new back bumper, I’ve been wanting to build a new bumper for my 1969 cj5 . I loved the video. I love the way it looks and all the things you did to it and looking forward to building mine . Thanks man for some great ideas and tricks to help me out
right on, good luck
This video helped thanks I was having the same problem and stripped the wire down and cleaned my terminals on the wires and got everything hooked back up my truck started right up
How do you like that harbor freight box? I’ve been debating buying the same setup and consolidating my three boxes into one or two(clutter box)
It’s OK but there’s a lot of wasted space compared to the icon box. I have the icon 73 inch at work and even though this is roughly the same size, it has way less drawers and space overall. Then again I got it for half the price
I JUST did it on my 2.5. I've found if you get it aligned, use the clamp to help tighten it down, get it in there pretty square and then start tightening it down and it'll go in itself
Just don’t force it
Maybe a garage makeover first.
Shots fired
I would figure out a solid floor if it was mine... and some sort of tonneau cover
Yeah I’m not sure what I would do a floor out of but it would be nice to not splash mud up onto my stuff. Then again the only thing I’ve carried back there so far is in waterproof totes. As for a cover it would have to be easily removable/accessible or I don’t want it. Not gonna crawl inside that thing lol
Y como meter el aro. Nuevamente 😮
I have other video on putting it all together
If you go back and buy the chinese intake manifold will they match up? lol
Dont think they sell one lol.
Sometimes not having to deal with the tire shop sounds good great video 👍👍🛻🛻

Not a huge fan of this kind of content but leaving a comment and watching full video to help you out. You're a good dude and I enjoy the majority of your stuff. Keep up the good work. On and off youtube.
Do a video on that fuse box. I'm looking at one of those now.
Your garage (dis) organization situation sounds reeeeeeally familiar. I’m moving to a new rental after being in my current place for 8 years and packing the garage has SUCKED.
It really gets out of hand fast when you don’t have enough storage for things so I’m always forced to leave things on surfaces
Your list looks good to me.
cool video
Thanks!
If it were me i’d start with waterproofing electronics on the trailer and incorporate the solar farm/ battery bank including ac/dc converter Getting super pumped for the yj axle swap vids too. I’ll buy your old axles if you’re still thinking about it
Yes I still plan on selling them. The rear axle is kind of untested it’s exactly the same as the one in my jeep. It has a Detroit locker and 513 gears but I haven’t even opened it up to inspect it yet. So before I actually list it or do anything I’d like to open it up
I might get a small start tonight but otherwise Thursday I’ll be starting. Busy the next two nights and I’m working on the JK tonight
@@FlawedOffroad yessir I know how that goes, “if it ain’t one thing it’s another” for sure. I’d love to see a build series on the trailer too. Keep it up man 👍
That's what i wanna see.
I'm a trucker and know that truck stop very well. I don't get out that way too much anymore. I like the idea of a trailer, and if I had a Jeep I'd probably have one. If it were mine, I'd put a 270 degree awning so when everyone's relaxing at camp, everyone doesn't have to huddle up in a small area of shade or when it rains you have plenty of covered area for everyone.
yeah as of right now I have the area where the tent folds open which is a little but not huge. My kids work at that truckstop haha. Little known fact, I have a CDL as well but I havent used it in almost 10 years
