The Super Mario 3D All-Stars Website says that Mario 64 has rumble. He says "Bye-Bye" because its the Rumble version and in Japan Bowser is called King Koopa.
Rena Kunisaki well, it was on the original. Which was out way before being able to move he and into arms was called dabbing. We called it "looking like an Elvis Presley pose" lol So just cause youngin changed the name, it's all of a sudden bad? I just hated the name
4:02 According to Pannenkoek2012, who is well known for his ABC runs, the lives are actually set to a negative 25, the game incorrectly uses a M and not a (-) symbol. One interesting thing about this is if you talk to Yoshi with negative lives, then your lives will have to pass through the negatives to get back to 100.
Yes, correct - because the lives counter is stored in 1 byte, or 8 binary digits, the number of values that can be represented is 256. The counter is overloaded and it ends up that 256 x 4= 1024, and 999 (lives) - 1024 is where we get our -25 value. I believe values 128-255 were used for negative integers, which makes sense as (999%256)=231, which would be 25 less than the max byte value of 256. :) I didn't figure I'd get too technical on a minor bug in the video, but it certainly is interesting to look back on.
The M is not "incorrect", per se; they likely didn't want to make a negative sign that they would never use, so they just used the M that they already had for Minus as that was intuitive enough. +Nintendrew I don't think you understand how bytes work; they used a signed byte, which has negative numbers built into it and goes from -128 to 127, and just naturally wraps from 127 to -128 (126, 127, -128, -127) if it gets any higher. They didn't do anything special with it or anything; it just essentially goes to what 999 past 0 is. Notably, the exact same thing happens in the first SMB; using the koopa on the stairs to get too many lives will put in the negatives, though with much worse consequences. In SM64, you game over if you die when you have 0 lives; less than 0 is fine. In SMB, you game over if you die at 1 or less lives.

LOL
NANI?
I did too, that's why I clicked the recommendation. Was still pleasantly surprised.
That's interesting. Nice video!
Shindou edition is forgotten no more because 3D all stars uses this version.
I just bought the wiiu version last night. So glad it's the og version
There are no actual differences between this version and all others. You only think this is the case because every copy of Mario 64 is personalized
Did you possibly come from Going Obscure?
@@Thorin-MattfromGO Never heard of it
Nick Percent it’s a channel I co-run with one of my friends. We did a video on this topic and it got well over 100k views, I was just curious.
Super Mario 3D All Stars may have its build of SM64 based off this.
pain
@@scrymnstrs For the average consumer this version is far better. It adds rumble support, runs smoother, allows the a button to be used to interact with characters, less glitches in general, etc. Think once for the average populous and not about yourself, just BLJ on another version of the game for goodness sake
Short and simple video that says a lot in a few minutes. I think I’ll sub.
Oh that is where the line
“Soo long browser” start
I like how he starts the nes when he is talking about a n64
"No more dabbing, thank goodness"

So, bug fixes, rumbly pak-pak supports, and cosmetic add-ons...
Hmmm...maybe making it a multi-language cart would of been nice?
I mean, cool find but...not exactly one of my top 100 to add to my collection...
You literally don't need to read anything in-game to play at this point lol...

Super Mario 64
-Final Mix-
Unfortunately no longer forgotten
Wow! I thought I knew pretty much everything about this game! But there you are, showing me some amazing stuff I never heard of before! That Buh-bye sound, I never thought it was actually from Mario 64! And this version as a whole, never heard of it before. I'd be interested in replaying Mario 64 for the 99999th time with rumble features. You sir, got a new sub!
Finding out that Mario can dab,
You just ruined my day
anyone else here because of 3d allstars. rip BLJ
It won’t be forgotten anymore if you get what I’m saying
fun fact: Mario 3d All-Stars's version of 64 is this version, the Shindou

That sounds like something a weapon the US Military would be called.
I picked this version up when I was in Japan - mostly due to it having a different label! Very informative video.
Who is here after the Super Mario 3D All-stars announcement? I’m sad they had to use this version, but, I understand why they did it

Looks like we got Shindou 64 on Switch.

Pannenkoek on his coin counter video said that, NTSC J had the code variable swap
3D All Stars & Shindou: "Bye-Bye!"
N64: "SO LONG HOMO BOWSER!"
You are my new favorite nintendo youtuber, Drew!!
Well it’s not forgotten any more
Shoutouts to Nathaniel.
The bye bye voice clip was also used in Mario vs Donkey Kong: Minis March again
