Nintendo hates him! Learn how to find these hidden features with this simple trick!
Speedrunners hate him!
+Snakez FURST TRY, EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDIOT.
Your Famicom info is wrong it came out in 1983 in Japan not 1985 like you said in video.
Number 5 will shock you!!
This is the shocking revelation that Nintendo DOESN'T want you to see. Hurry and watch before this gets deleted
Shaq Fu has a great hidden feature, where you can use it as a wedge on wobbly tables or chairs!
I'll have to try this!
i was thinking of something else when you said wedge idk what i was thinking.
The Genesis/Mega Drive version is the better version with content compared to the SNES version.
Lol I've played worse sadly
Good one
You can't forget about the 3DS' secret function to play games in 3D. It's been long forgotten in time since not even Nintendo seems to care about it anymore.
I bet someone is not gonna get the joke

I'm still blown away that they could fit an entire SNES game into a Gameboy cart.
Never underestimate Nintendo.
@@MasterZebulin Absolutely!
Technically I can fit multiple of not all SNES, Gameboy and NES games on one cartridge.
Yes, with the help of modern technology. Back in the day you couldn't have.
Taylor Lee they are able to fit smash ultimate onto the small Nintendo Switch cartridge
The Sonic 3D Blast trick is a sheer stroke of genius from the developer.
Yes. Jon Burton is a sheer genius with his work. I mean, he pitched his first game at 16.
@@that1lizardjamie There is a channel called "GameHunt" that let him go in detail about how he developed Sonic 3D blast and it's fucking amazing. He is a optimization god.
@@anaussie8714 You know what I say.

laziest developer ever,.

Right after they release HD remakes of the CDi games.
Re: Sonic 3D Blast - In The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on SNES, the Chris Houlihan room is basically the same thing, if you would get sent to an invalid area, you get sent there instead. They're both error catchers. I'm sure there are plenty of other games with similarly disguised error catchers, too.
Tfw your favorite anime has a new episode
Hi
What's that anime? I'll totally watch with you guys!
HAHAHA ITS FUNNY BECAUSE ITS NOT ACTUALLY AN ANIME, YOU'RE SUCH A COMEDY GENIUS
Is it My Hero Academia?
not the sonic hater
Your channel and also Gamehut are uniques!! congrats!!
Yes. He's the founder of Traveller's Tales who created that game and Sonic R. He' also programmed both of those games just to tell you 387534,
well now I have to look him up
I used to subscribe to his channel but got creeped out by all the religious rhetoric he was injecting into his games/code.
Solís Music *unique
Another one: The fifth generation Pokémon games have infrared built in to connect between them. That was a way to ensure that you are trading/battling using real cartdriges, since flash carts lack that feature.
That's not true
Pokemon HG/SS had a infrared connection to connect to the pokéWalker
why is that not true? I never said "only fifth generation".
You can use the infrared interface in white/black to trade or battle.
But you can also use the standard wireless connection without a infrared connection.
actually there there just to test if it is a real game the punishment actually applies to single player

Just want to mention that I like your topics. I like videos that focuses on more obscure things in gaming in general, there is already a million videos out there covering the most generic within modern and retro gaming. Going through more undiscussed topics is always more entertaining.

Always happy for a new NintenDrew. I love all your stuff man. Keep it up!
I found the sonic one myself, a book fell onto the Megadrive, unlocking the level select. Didn't realise it was ment to happen.
Their was also a code for level select, b,a,r,r,a,c,u,d,a when paused.

Reminded me of that cringy April fools video he did.
Andrew Ravadan
It is. He made a April fools video about him leaving nintendo to switch to PlayStation.
Cool video! All your content is very thought-out and very polished. Keep the videos comin!
that bit about the famicom cartridges using adapters is super interesting, and I've genuinely never heard of it before! You always manage to show off some super interesting tidbits and facts about video game history in your videos. Definitely one of the best youtubers out there.
Great video as always, Drew!
You inspire me so much, in fact I have bought some games you have recommended! (Also love the hair)
that sonic bit is one of the most amazing things i've ever learned. had to check the date wasn't april 1st! Thanks, Nintendrew!

Do you have Waluigis Taco Stand for the n64?
I got a copy of it
I did, but I just took it back to Blockbuster yesterday.
Super Duperest Blockbuster? Didn’t those all close down, like 10 years ago?
no
Luke Whitsell I was being an obvious bullshitter and tried to ensure people knew I wasn't being serious by mentioning Blockbuster. The only Blockbuster open is in Alaska I think.
Love this sort of info. Very much in favor of a part 2.
Love your vids Drew! wish you could pump these out everyday.
I'm so impressed with your collection :o
So cool, dude. keep it up :) 🐻
Pokemon Typing Adventure is one of the games I'm trying to get for my collection, it's so unique!
I wonder if you could connect a new Logitech bluetooth keyboard to the module inside and it will work.
It should be easy to get in Europe as the title is really cheap 12 euro new.
I bought a used Japanese copy through Amazon. It runs fine on my new 3DS-XL.
My local gamestore sells a new copy for €12 and a used one for €10. I checked how much it costs in America and those prices are crazy!
Ive got one xd.
I love your videos, and this one is very nice too :p I like the fact you own all these games to show us, it's a proof that you really like what you're talking about :)
Great video. Thanks for your video. Gonna go thru my gray catridges for famicon ones now lol.
Great video. Crazy about the Sonic game... wonder if I can access the level select whilst striking my GPD when running it on emulation ? 🤣🤣🤣
Try running a different save state while running the Rom. Should produce the same effect as cartridge tilting.
@@pikachufan06 Lol I'll do that 😊
I love your Content! more Gamecube Please?
Loving your videos dude. Keep it up.
Cool! When ever I watch one of these videos of yours I always learn something really awesome! Keep it up!
These hidden features are pretty cool. Thank you
I never would have thought that discs weren't the way to go until now. Never have I thought of game units (discs and cartridges) as removable hardware not unlike that of a usb stick/thumbdrive. I always thought of them as just memory data file storage for reading and writing. In simpler terms, I always considered stuff you write a game onto to just be software holders. With this concept of games being hardware as well you can do so many more things with it. I just wonder if the switch cartridges will ever get any special treatment.
Woah, now I wanna hide an easter egg mini game that can only be played on pc saved on a ps4 game disc.
SNES cartridges in particular were always designed to be modular to expand the consoles capability, as part of keeping the cost of the base system down.
The SuperFX chip is the most well known, but there were over a dozen other enhancement chips embedded in cartridges that vastly expanding the capabilities of the original SNES.
This is laymans terms, but the SA1 chip in the Mario RPG cartridge essentially included an overclocked version of the SNES's own CPU inside it. About 3x the clock speed.
From Sega, you have the SVP chip used for the Mega-Drive version of Virtua Racing, which could draw more polygons at about twice the framerate of the SuperFX chip (but it was absurdly expensive as well). Or of course, Sonic & Knuckles, which could actively patch the data from a Sonic 2 or 3 cartridge to expand and change those games.
ValiantAleste _ It was common on the Dreamcast. Sonic Adventure, among others, included several wallpapers for your PC in the low-density part of the GD-ROM that could be read from a normal PC CD-ROM player.
Do you think that game disks and cartridges could be a secret BLUETOOTH adapter??? Do you think Pokemon games like X and Y are like that. That would be scary.
Fitting extra features on cartridges to meet the needs of specific games was definitely a cool idea, but in the case of modern consoles like the Switch, this is a practice that is no longer necessary. The console has all the features that these hardware extensions aimed to capture (like Bluetooth and 3D rendering capabilities), not to mention the disparity it would cause between physical and digital releases of games.
This was entertaining, informative and not padded for time. I thought that combination wasn't allowed on RUclips.
Great video as always. Keep it up!
Sonic 3d blast one is a devs equavalent of a shoveling everything under a carpet, so nobody notice.
I think the reason they didnt advertised the Super FX on Yoshi's Island was so they could make the Super Nintendo look more advanced compared to other consoles.
Definitely would like to see a part 2! Great finds, Andrew
GameHut is one of my favorite youtube channels. Nice to see him getting some recognition!
Nintendrew: enough intro, lets begin
*intro plays*
Was just about to comment that.
I wonder if any other standard Bluetooth keyboard will work with Pokemon Typing DS as well?
Hmm… an excellent question
Most likely not. It's probably hard-coded to pair with that specific model. They would've considered including a full BT pairing stack a waste of resources.
Cool video dude! I have always like these kinds of videos
Very cool information and well explained! I always wondered as a kid why some NES catridges I owned (Gryomite, Duck Hunt, and a few others) had tabs on top compared to other ones. That makes sense!
You need to make a video on how you get your hair to look so good
??

This baby can hold so many secret level menus.
Was surprised not to see Kirby Tilt N' Tumble on this list, but I still enjoyed learning about theses titles that I'd never heard about!
Liked this video! I remember some of the stuff you mentioned when I was a kid. Kids and magazines raved about how SMW2 used the FX chip to make the game look so good.
I swear drew you’re the smartest person when it comes to video ideas
cool so if i throw my genesis out the window i will unlock the level select code
Dope shit. I love you you spaced out the consoles. That's good writing
Some of this stuff i never knew! Thanks Nintendrew!

3:35 Is that a 8 bit remix version of Ore Burgh City?
Yes
Its Loeder.
no
It definitely sounds like it
I had no idea about the NES adapter, back in the day You could find bootleg devices to do so, but an official adapter in new to Me, after so many years, nice tip!
Great work very interesting! Thanks for sharing.
you are like a calm chadtronic
How can I learn typing with Pokémon when half of them don’t even have hands or fingers to type with?
Another interesting video! Thanks great content keep it up
Awesome video, I would love to see more , I always find this type of stuff intriguing.
Can you PLZ live stream with nathanial bandy on mario kart 8
Do the Famicom Converters go for more money?
Likely they would, if the seller is aware of it.
Yes. I watched a seller with a $3 copy of Gyromite turn around and sell it for $28 as soon as I brought it to his and another shopper’s attention (I already had too many). It was the same guy who sold me two “heavy” NES cartridges for $10 that had over $22,600 worth of heroin inside, so he knows that when I bring something to his attention he should probably listen. ;)
just found your channel and subscribed (yeah i know its a "big" channel) but your videos are so good and informative really great stuff!
I’m new to your channel but just subbed, I like the quality of the production
Super Game Boy is the switch back then.
@Nintendrew What if you run the Game Boy game in GameCube player port will it still run the SNES game version⁉️
J I'm not Nintendrew, but no, it won't. The Gameboy Player uses the GBA's hardware, so it won't have the Super Gameboy features implemented.
Trainer Blue GB Player did not support SGB enhancements but it did have some of its own. For example, some Game Boy Advance games supported force feedback when played with a GameCube controller. Also, it did not work with the GBA Video carts. IIRC, the GB Player holds opposing directions on the D-pad when the game first boots. Because normal GBAs can’t do this, the game knows it’s running on a GB Player. Majesco GBA Video carts will then display a message and refuse to play video since Majesco did not have home video rights.
None of those game titles do much for me but a very interesting video. Thankyou for sharing this
My personal favorites are when they secretly include extra games on the cartridge, hidden away with a code. The arcade conversion of Dig Dug on the Intellivision console had a hidden game - it was a modified version of Tron Deadly Discs, but using character graphics from the game Burgertime, specifically the little hotdog enemies. You'd push certain buttons on both controllers and then reset, and you could play Deadly Dogs.
Another favorite was Battlezone 2000 on the Atari Lynx. The programmers made a nice little game but Atari's owners thought it went too far away from the original, and made them start over from scratch. But they secretly hid their original version in their new version, only accessible by a code. I could see why Atari didn't go for their original game, it had 2000 levels to go through and was a bit on the confusing side.
5:45 2 years, not 2 months. The famicom was first launched in 1983.
Tom L maybe Gyromite came out in Japan 2 months before the American NES? Or was it a Japanese launch title? I dunno.
@@gamersinacontainer, When he said "system," it sounded like as if he were refering to the console itself.
Nah, that fact was referring to Gyromite's JP release

BRB Time to Punch my Sonic cartridge
Didnt know this! Love this Video Drew! Got sent from the Bandy Clan!
9:05 omg I discovered that as a kid! I also discovered the Chaos Emerald farming method in Emerald Hill Zone Act 1 of Sonic 2.
Holy shit i love how perfect his hair is every video
???? Bitch where
But do any of these have Blast-Processing Technology?
Sonic 3D Blast maybe? I mean, the word "Blast" is in the title.
Maybe Sonic Boom has it an upgraded version of the Blast-Processing Technology
Nope. Sega never created an enhancement chip for the Genesis, unlike Nintendo for the SNES. They put them in the 32x and SegaCD.
They did. The SVP chip that was used in the Mega-Drive version of Virtua Racing. It was an incredibly powerful chip for what it was, quite a bit beyond the SuperFX chip. But it was also far too expensive to be practical on a per game basis.
Though there were plans to make an SVP chip cartridge adaptor, so you only had to buy the chip once, and compatible games would just play through it, like a Game Genie.
I thought the 32x was the SVP chip cartridge adaptor? i could be wrong though
More! This was dope!
PSP: "It's not a defect, it's a feature!"
Sonic 3d Blast: "Hold my beer."
this actually blew my mind. have a few of those games sitting behind me and intermediately started to investigate them lol
Awesome as always :D you should do more of these I'm sure there are more interesting cartridges if you dig deep enough
thank you for linking to jon! he's great!
Man, I love Game Hut! Probably one of my favorite channels.
wow thats amazing drew!
I gotta say, its really neat to see GameHut get so much attention. There's PLENTY of behind the scene looks at these big famous popular studios making their own stuff...
But there's a certain very captivating perspective to be found from the accounts of the people running a small-ish studio that mostly just made licensed tie-in games and ports on a low budget with some publisher breathing down their neck even more than the big-time studios.
Thanks for that explanation on how to determine the adapter. I always just heard to look for weight.
I would love to see more like this :)
Interesting video! I loved it
great vid drew... like and subed!
Wow that 3D Blast secret is awesome to learn. As a kid I would sometimes get to a level select screen, but I never knew how I did it, it just happened.
When I clicked on the video, I was hoping you wouldn't bring up the SuperFX chip since everyone talks about it and Star Fox, but the fact you brought up Yoshi's Island instead of Star Fox was a pleasant surprise I wasn't expecting and honestly I had completely forgotten that game used the SuperFX chip. All in all, great and informative video.
