PS: a tip, at 5:43 reefing the genoa/jib won't stop you healing, it's the MAIN that does this (hence it's nickname of the "stability sail"), to 'ease' the heel, all you do is either reef the main, ease the sheet {partially, so it still drives} and finally, if your boat has a mainsheet track, you place the car towards where the boom is ( a more upward pull, or in effect the sheet is driving the boat not from amidships, but from the tack you are on). this also allows you to sheet in a little, for the same speed, just not the heel; the heel also causes the rudder to be more out of water, hence more resistance, and less help (steering).
I REALLY liked the drone shot of Adam standing confidently on the boom and Khiara lounging across the pushpit directors chair. This series of isodss has been SO enjoyable to watch. Thanks for bringing us along.
For a boat designed with utmost safety and comfort in mind, she looks sleek and fast. 7point9 knots with just one sail so they didn't bother with the rest. Sheez. I did wonder though - her mast looks super tall, I was wondering how easy it would be for her to right herself after a capsize, like maybe the mast makes her a little top heavy? My dream boat right there - the Kraken 50.
Kraken & Adam, don't let it be over, just love the pure sailing. Sailing Uma just did a plus 20 minute post with zero dialog or editing, sailing in the Artic circle, very intense like your rails in the water today.
Beauty in spades, electric smile, confidence, wit, intelligence, perfectly balanced athletic figure, long wasted, stunningly beautiful red hair, balanced beautiful face, mischievous smile, witty and emotional and physical sense of humor. On a checklist of essential attributes to be a “WORLD FAMOUS” model, you two have checked all the boxes in triplicate. You are sitting on your own golden goose, and it is absolutely filled with golden eggs. Start laying, start hatching start getting ready to have your OWN Kraken 50! Christy Brinkley, Giselle Bundchen, Tyra Banks, and all the others have nothing on Kihara! I watch a dozen of these channels and love them all, but Millennial Falcon is the one I watch first and most. The two of you together have a chemistry, a magic that no one else quite gets close to. And I’m just as sure that neither of you are aware of it, which is one of your best attributes: the pure, honest and unsullied personality and character you possess as a couple. I believe, and doubt I’m the only one, you could have that boat in 18 months or less! You see, your greatest weakness or blindspot, is that you don’t, maybe can’t, see the knowledge, friendship, love and joy you bring to each of us, your loyal and truly devoted fans and friends. I know you have modeled before, but NOW, you are RUclips royalty! Allow us to be your off scene cheering/fan club. KRAKEN Fifty, Sure is nifty, don’t need thrifty, Let it be our GIFTY…to you!
Awesome yacht , yes Adam seems to have a constant Cheshire Cat smile from ear to ear and in his element . I felt every rip from that waxing Dick had too , still couldn't not laugh at it
Great review....really good...BUT now , you'll jump back on board M F & maybe feeling a bit flat , coming from such a high , what a buzz , wow , SO here's the thing to REMEMBER , while your out there doing it , living it , breathing it , experiencing it , if it's something you two REALLY WANT , well that's SOMETHING TO STRIVE FOR , whilst you've got nothing else to do , while your living life to the fullest....well done....cheers....look forward to the next one....& that all l have to say about that😊
Was this the final Kraken video? Your videos have been more informative then what Kraken has posted on their RUclips Channel to date. Hope Dick has become a Patron of your RUclips Channel! 😁
Love to see you guys having fun and getting to have this experience. (On someone else's dime at that.) Adam will be bummed when it's over. Enjoy it all.
If kraken starts getting lots of inquiries/orders, they going to need people like Adam who are both outgoing & knowledgeable. The natural path for many successful youtube sailors are careers in the industry. Don't be surprised if you hear they're moving to turkey to handle many of the associated customer service/delivery responsibilities
It’s definitely taught me the value of seizing opportunities that’s for sure! Suffice to say that I will be forever more on the lookout for new and exciting ways to get sailing!
Interesting how some things do not change. The furler design is the same as has been for 50 years ! At least you aren't worrying about a chain plate ripping out from old age with this beautiful boat. Noticing the stereo quality of your music . I like it !
I can’t believe how beautiful this Kraken 50 is. We will buy one for you when we win lotto ! You are both so happy and excited. One of the best videos yet .
Nice boat and always nice to see people enjoying sailing so much. Don't break it though, it is a pricy one: Base price of 800k Pound Sterling! Suddenly I understand, why Adam speaks so highly about that Outbound 46: All other true blue water monohuls just seem to be far too expensive now. Unlike the Outbound though, this also got some modern lines and interior.
...... good to see you truly having a break from boat projects and totally distracted so you're not thinking of them .... both of you, Adam & Khiara, always have on big smiles, but you know I truly think that you both have stretched them out even farther than usual .. smilin .. great to see how well you have connected with the rest of the crew ... what would you do with yourselves if you only had say half the boat jobs of the ones on Milly, all that free time ... I'm thinking guilt-free exploring ...... thx for sharing ..... and as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger ... have fun be safe, save our oceans ....
I was sold on a kraken already, but now even more. Just need to sell our possessions, steel a few bucks here and there, and we could be away. DREAMER............
12knots feels good best ever for me was an evening sail during a race on siska 60footer from Moreton to Mooloolaba flying a shy kite full main we were pushing the old girl but what the hell. Cheers n beers Marty
Another fun sailing video - thanks! I've been reading "Desirable and Undesirable Characteristics of Offshore Yachts" edited by John Rousmaniere (1987). It seems like the whole book is basically: "Why Kraken Yachts exist." I think if anyone discusses boat design and sailing characteristics around me again, I'll mention "Fastnet 1979" - if they don't immediately know what this means I can smile and walk off. As a "I wanna big catamaran" noob sailor I figured people bought those beefy old monohulls only because they couldn't afford two hulls, or three. Before I'd read the book, when Adam was raving about the Krakens I just figured this was like someone who likes antique cars - terrific but not quite up to date. Now I think I'm getting it. Might make an interesting video to really dive into why a lot of modern yachts are not that stable, and in what conditions which is the boat will get through and which ones might not.
Absolutely. Not many people realise that when a catamaran or trimaran is hit by a very intense wind in open ocean it will not be able to right itself, and may even ‘turn turtle’.
This was wayyyyy over canvased. We were too busy trying to get the drone back before the gust hit that we ran out of time to furl in the Genoa. So we just charged on through. She was much happier (and faster again) with the blade out.
Love teh fact Dick has a sense of humour - great Aussie tradition - stitch your mates up. brilliant effort - Super generous of Dick to take you out for a week sail - and lying down in the bunk if the aft cabin - is technically known as bunk acceptance trials.
I hope Dick calls you guys next time he needs shake down crew. I have enjoyed watching these segments and Adam Smiling so big. He's been like a youngster on Christmas morning.
It's Going To Be Hard to go back to your Boat 🚢 I think. Thanks for this week's video 📹. Great Job! Ok untell next week, Aloha from the Big Island 🏝 of Hawaii 🏝
Now I like the sound of that!!!! We could have a rubber stamp made that says “millennial falcon proof” you couldn’t ask a boat to withstand more punishment 😂😂😂
The boss is groomed like a proper gentleman. Can I get a Selden Mast with in mast furling. And electric furl on the jib and Genoa? I solo often and need more automation.
It looks like you have both found your spots on that boat - it will be hard for Dick to get you off! This is a great series - I hope you get to commission more Krakens!
Ok, I was (am) pretty unhappy with some of Dick's statements that there is no other blue water boat but the Kraken. However he seems like a cool guy when he isn't a salesman and he for sure built a frikin' awesome boat.
Hi Kevin, Congrats on designing a beautiful boat. A quick question on the keel though... My understanding from various articles and videos on the Krake 50 is that the keel encapsulates a lead bulb at the furthest point along a failry generous chord length. 34 knots at full sail! What a solid boat. If I ever won the lotto I'd buy a solid boat like that. What a beauty.

It's been 48 hours since I watched this vid and my nose still hurts!
I REALLY liked the drone shot of Adam standing confidently on the boom and Khiara lounging across the pushpit directors chair. This series of isodss has been SO enjoyable to watch. Thanks for bringing us along.
Haha, this is the first and only time he’s been able to do that on a sailboat! I think he stayed up there a while 😄
Girl you are just one silly happy sailor!
What an amazing offer by Dick Beaumont. That guy is an amazing human being!
I loved how proud he was of it when we were charging! So nice to see someone enjoying their own creations as much as the punters.
Kraken is the best sailing yacht EVER ...
When I win the lotto i will buy you one of these, I've not seen adam smile as much as the last few vids.
When I win the lotto I’ll buy a pair … one for you and one for me….
Look into crypto and make a plan for the next 4 years. There's no get rich quick scheme but if you put your mind into it anything is possible.
@marc wolf - Hands down comment of the week 🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
Those smiles make me happy you deserve that boat they should give it to you

Brilliant editing. The drone shots were excellent as well. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.
Trystan from the kraken team deserves full credit. I’m trying to convince him to join team falcon!
Now a boom furler - Perfect .
You both truly look like you are having the time of your lives. Love it!
Lots of fun watching...thanks.

That is one gorgeous yacht. Very well made video too.
I watched again! I so love what Dick has done with this design! ⛵️
That was just about the fastest 20 minutes on Y/T! Bravo.
What an amazing sailboat. Thank you for sharing your time aboard it!

Happy as a dog with two tails and smooth as a baby’s …………. 😂😂😂
I love your channel. Thank you for sharing your adventures. That Kraken is amazing.
Thanks for watching 🍺
Kraken is now 2nd hand....can I make a cheap offer...LOL She is a beauty.

Fun video this week.
Glad you enjoyed it friend!
The boat is beautiful. Loved the shave & waxing. LOL 😆
You two are having too much fun!
You guys were having so much fun that it spilt over to us in multitudes! What an amazing sailboat. I'll drive the get-away-car!

That was an incredibly fun video. I've never seen Adam have so much fun! His smile was contagious! I was smiling for the entire video!
I believe I’ve now watched every RUclips video about kraken currently available!

Great upload timing . Sitting at a marina bar in Fort Lauderdale. All the boaters are now enjoying, it's 4:50pm est. Cheers, until next Monday.

Beautiful yacht
It's amazing what a logical design gives a user...... definitely my favorite most well thought out and finished yacht I've come to know. Thanks guys.
This video is such fun! Great people and a fabulous boat. This is what yachting is all about.
I wish you the best in someday achieving your goal of a Kraken 50.

What a great SV, and you two do a great job promoting it through such a fun sail! Nice! win/win!
GOD, what a boat!
It really is a no compromise Blue water boat
What a beautiful boat.
GREAT VID!!
The yacht cuts water....and Flys
Music a great match.
That experience is the envy...
Well done!
Wow, wonderful... Been looking forward to this and was not disappointed! Thank you, all.
Açores Love Very nyce.
Look at those lines what a beautiful boat..
How exciting.. You lucky buggers
If possible, then please get hold of the Kraken 66. BTW nice video. Keep it up.
I truly hope you and Adam get this Dream Boat you 2 deserve one
Much appreciated 🤩
loved every second of it. Great to see so many smiles.
Glad you enjoyed it mate! Thanks for all you do 🥰
I spent a month backpacking through that part of the world in '91. This brought back some great memories. Awesome boat too!
I was sold on a kraken already, but now even more. Just need to sell our possessions, steel a few bucks here and there, and we could be away. DREAMER............
If all of our viewers March on fort knox together they can’t catch us all right?!?
Wow, those stanchions are solid. You were able to put your weight on the rail and it didn’t move.
That could have lasted another hour it was so much fun to watch.
DATS ONE SPICY MEATBALL OF A BOAT. NUTTIN BROKE.

Kraken episode 👍👍
This boat is amazing, “like a freight train “. I had already noticed that in earlier videos. It looks so smooth through the water.

She really suits you!
Cool !
What an amazing freight train of a boat. Surprising that it heels as much and as well as it does. Back to Milly!
right???
This was wayyyyy over canvased. We were too busy trying to get the drone back before the gust hit that we ran out of time to furl in the Genoa. So we just charged on through. She was much happier (and faster again) with the blade out.

Good work very enjoyable 👏🏻
great boat

Where did he hide the cannons? Great video!
I hope Dick calls you guys next time he needs shake down crew. I have enjoyed watching these segments and Adam Smiling so big. He's been like a youngster on Christmas morning.
Great video guys. It had me smiling and thoroughly entertained from beginning to end. To be fair though, that could be said of all your releases.
Thanks for watching mate. Glad your enjoying them!
It's Going To Be Hard to go back to your Boat 🚢 I think.
Thanks for this week's video 📹.
Great Job!
Ok untell next week, Aloha from the Big Island 🏝 of Hawaii 🏝
Even overpowered for 30+ knots apparent she seemed to hold her course. Nice rig design...
I reckon you two have earned yourself jobs as test sail crew for every Kraken boat produced!! Yay 😀
Now I like the sound of that!!!! We could have a rubber stamp made that says “millennial falcon proof” you couldn’t ask a boat to withstand more punishment 😂😂😂
@@SailingMillennialFalcon perfect….
Can you sweet talk Dick into loaning you one for a few years? May the Kraken be with you.
Now that’s not a bad idea.. 🤓 I’ve been spamming home with screen shots of comments all week. We can all wear him down together lol!
Really nice boat. I want 1 too!
The boss is groomed like a proper gentleman. Can I get a Selden Mast with in mast furling. And electric furl on the jib and Genoa? I solo often and need more automation.

Ok, I was (am) pretty unhappy with some of Dick's statements that there is no other blue water boat but the Kraken. However he seems like a cool guy when he isn't a salesman and he for sure built a frikin' awesome boat.
He’s a super happy guy! Really easy to hang out with.
If Dick didn't have strong opinions, I doubt he could have built a boat like the Kraken. Sure, there are other boats, but this one sure is pretty!
Nice video 👍
Kevin Dibley who designed her is a New Zealand Naval Architect. No wonder Kracken Yachts chose him to design their range of yachts.
A bit of luff tension on the jib in the 30 knots would have been very handy
amazing :-)
Great video! So fun to watch your journey unfold. I hope we will share an anchorage someday! :) that is a gorgeous yacht
Looking forward to it guys👌🏼
Love it!
It must have a very proud designer 🤗🤗
Hi Kevin, Congrats on designing a beautiful boat. A quick question on the keel though...
My understanding from various articles and videos on the Krake 50 is that the keel encapsulates a lead bulb at the furthest point along a failry generous chord length. Does this not create pressure on the glass section between the bulb and hull? Is it reinforced in some way beyond glassed in divancell?
@@ssk3940 - thanks for the comment. Wasn’t an easy engineering feat and a lot of thought was out into it.
This from our Structural engineer Peter Lawson of Hauraki Design who engineered all of the designs to date”:
“Keel bolts attract localised load paths and create high stress concentrations which can become difficult to deal with when considering the range of design load cases that are used for keel design.
Encapsulating the lead bulb means that all keel and bulb loads are dissipated and shared more evenly across all of the attached hull and keel composite components.
The lead bulb is laminate wrapped, bonded into the keel fin shells with no voids or gaps and then fully taped together inside and outside to work as a fully “encapsulated” integral unit. Integrating the hull and keel construction this way means that all hull and keel composite components have been designed to share the keel loads and forces more evenly across all design load cases.
Building the keel this way still allows us to install full depth keel floors and internal frames without compromising these structural elements with cut-outs and bolt holes - it is an integrated unit with no localised stress concentrations at all.”
Hope that answers your question.
Cheers
