Thanks Ash! IhHaven’t been running as much because I got a new job and have been practicing qi gong now. Glad I put this hip strengthening video in my “hip therapy” playlist. Hope you have a good day 😊
Hi Ash! I just completed the strength hip flexor class, and I’m very encouraged that it’s going to help me with the tightness that I feel. I’m going to religiously do it so that I can really get strong.
Hi Helene, thanks for letting me know how this practice was for you 😀 This will definitely make a big difference to your hip tightness. It's a common area for us runners to suffer with, so strengthening that area is really going to help your body deal with the demands of running. Thanks for being part of my growing community 👍
Hi Ash, thanks for your videos! As a rookie runner who's doing occasional trail running half-marathons, I've been struggling a little to find the best stretches + strength exercises for my training. Most videos give you a series of planks, sit-ups etc. but no real context. So I never knew if I was even doing sth. effective or just randomly challenging one muscle or another. Your videos help me understand a lot more and I greatly appreciate your work!
Thanks for your comment Se. I'm a trail runner majority of the time too, I do a little bit of road running but you can't beat the trails for that sense of adventure. I really appreciate your feedback. I do try to help runners understand the benefit of what we do in my videos so I'm glad you recognised that. I have 3 videos a week scheduled. Please do let me know your feedback on any other videos you follow along with 😀✌
Thanks as always for your comments (I don’t know your full name as you only have G B on your profile so I don’t know how to refer to you sorry) really happy this is helping with your knee drive with stronger hip flexors 🙌🏻😊
Hi Ash! I have been doing this class as you recommended every other day. I am hoping that in two days from now I will start my walking running up again. I will let you know how that goes! Thank you so much for all of your encouragement!
I'm glad to be a part of your journey Helene. Thanks for keeping me updated on your progress. Strengthening is definitely going to injury proof your body so hopefully all should be well. Have a great weekend!
Hi Ash! I rested my right hip flexor for three days, and now I am prepared to do this strengthening class three times a week until I don’t feel any discomfort. I’m not going to start the running walking back again until I’ve done this at least three or four more times. I can handle this class with no problem, so I guess it just needs to get a little bit stronger. Thank you for your input!
Great idea to rest and come back and listen to your body as you go Helene. Take the pressure off and be in tune with what your body is telling you and you will come back stronger ready to start your walk/run again 😀
This is a great vid; I've been doing these stretches every day as I'm recovering from an injury and it seems to really help! Is it ok to do this session every day? Have a great day!
Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed this mate. I’ve got a foot strengthening one for excessive pronation coming up too which will help strengthen your foot and legs for running 👍🏻
Thank you for creating this video (I struggled balancing in #1 and I couldn't do #4 exersise). I ve started running 2 weeks now and even though I run ~8min/km ( I'm not even getting tired -it's slow I know)I do have knee pain after 5km (40 min of easy pace running) I enjoy spending one minute here and there sprinting a little bit .. Could I be doing something wrong ?
It could be 2 things or a combination of both: 1- knee pain coming from heavy heel striking with a slow cadence. So your knees are taking a beating. Possibly improve running form and cadence. 2- your supporting muscles up and down the leg aren’t strong enough to support the knee. Strengthening calves, quads, glutes is a good place to start. This would be a good place to start 👍🏻😊
You're welcome J 😊 Thanks for taking the time to comment! I post 2 videos a week like this one so stay tuned/subscribed to my channel for lots more content like this 👍
I've been doing this twice a week for a month and I can already feel a difference, especially with the press up plank position xD
Amazing!! Well done for consistently sticking at it with this session and then reaping the rewards because of your consistency 🙌🏻😊
Glad I found this, thankyou Ash
Thanks for seeking it out Michelle 😊

@@RunBetterwithAsh indeed it was a bit of a burner. Had a great run through.
