Sam! There you go again, jumping right into your videos. That’s what makes your channel the greatest. No canned music, long intros, or Hollywood-style productions. Thanks for not spending 15 minutes of your video preparing your dinner like your on a reality cooking show.
Hey Sam! Great video as always. Thanks for showing how you fly/set your spinnaker, and good job keeping the halyard forward of the shrouds. I sometimes run foredeck on a boat for local Wednesday night races and wondered how you deployed your spinnaker. We pull ours out of the companionway when rounding the windward mark and douse it very similar once we reach the leeward mark. We've talked about using a bag connected to the lifelines on the foredeck, but haven't graduated to that yet. It's always fun jibing the spinnaker, especially when I'm the preventer (by standing behind the main boom). Maybe easier to grab the leeward spinnaker sheet and connect it to the free end of the spinnaker pole - after removing it from the mast - keeping the jib sheet over the spinnaker pole, before releasing the windward sheet. Then you can just connect the windward (now free end) to the mast ring, completing the jibe. I love watching your videos, and hope to be on the Atlantic/Med some day soon myself!

I did a couple of Med cruises when I was in the US Navy back in the seventies. Majorca was a favorite port. During the warm months you would go to the discos. ABBA was big in Europe then. In the cold months you would go to The Gut.
I was on a small destroyer escort. Had a crew of about 230, so we didn't make a big impact on a port like the really big ships would. We got to go to a lot of small ports.

Loved the body-cam footage! I've been watching for years and you're a huge inspiration. Keep it real!
I appreciate that!
I look most forward to the fishing in your videos! Love it. I think the fact you being a novice -‘d since your sailing you not precise with your speed and you just catch what you catch! Makes it interesting
Fantastic passage Sam! You don't understand how relaxing it is to watch your video. Sorry about the drill. Have fun /with your GF.
I especially enjoyed the shot of Pickle, in the last minute of video where it appears to be floating in air!
Pole forward and down for reaching. You'll be amazed at how high you can point with your kite.
A really enjoyable episode!
We love your content Sam ❤
Enjoyable video Sam, love your channel.
Yikes!! At 37:30 Sam is describing what seems like a pretty close call with a shark! But of course he's just laughing and chill and will jump out of the boat again tomorrow. Sam you're a wild hero
I love your fishing philosophy. Also, thanks for tying in for all those spinnaker maneuvers! Love ya, Dad
You did a great job! Thank you!
Awesome video.....action packed, edge of my lawn chair sipping a cold one. GREAT WHITE maybe.....We could tell your heart was.....thumping !!
I’m learning to sail (total beginner) with the aspirations of buying a sailing boat in the next 10/15 years. Your videos are extremely helpful and I can’t wait to begin my course. All the best Sam lad 🏴
Don't wait 10 to 15 years. I bought one for 800 bucks off Facebook and have had a great time in it. Go somewhere small and have fun soon.
@@joelhamlyn5186 nice one mate. I didn’t know you could get them for that price.
Can you tell me the make and model of your yacht so I can have a look mate?
Any help is much appreciated
That hat camera was a great way to film hands free and the quality was really great also it looked like a fun passage 👍🏼
Sam is the only man I’ll watch playing with his pole😂 Great video Sam⛵️
Single-handing the kite is no joke. I was watching hoping "don't be twisted!" when you went to the halyard. Nice work!
Darn, you really do sail around the world. Crazy! Enjoy the videos. Stay safe.
Thanks, you too!
Great job with the video. The drone shots out in the open really meant something.
Excellent.!
A big squeezy bottle of Kewpie mayo, a bottle of Kikoman sauce, enough wasabi and fresh ginger and that little fishy is history in 2 days max.
I was gonna say! Also carry some good vinegar...a little pickled fish snacking as per namesake.
Great video. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Love the Sam Holmes rabbit hole it’s easy catch smaller fish
I know how you feel. I've lost couple of drills myself. It really gets into you. But just hang out there, take your time to recover.
Awesome video btw.
I appreciate that. Will do. 😆
