  • I make electronics in my garage. And this is the first robot i have built to help me out.
A very crucial part of electronics manufacturing is the solder paste printing process. So it makes sense to start here. This is part 1 of a series about this machine, where we go trough the design of the machine in Fusion 360. SUBSCRIBE to see the rest of this build.
It's made with Openbuilds aluminium extrusions and wheel system. And many of the parts are 3d printed on my Ender 3 pro.
The PCB-manufacturer i upload files to in this video is pcbway.com

PCBWay noticed I uploaded gerbers to their website in my video. They asked me if we can do something together. When I ordered from them earlier they added some promo black matte solder mask stuff. How can I unsee this stuff? Ordered some freelance client works in this color. But not sure if I should make a whole video about it?

Definitely yes for a whole video! This is the common calling from us as your fans🤗😄

You're dreaming! You can't build an electronics assembly business from your garage - impossible - stacks of folks have told me so!

Let me know if they are ever right. I'm sure that time never comes, but if it does. I'll better send my robot army!

Yeah, it is crazy talk. Massive companies like Hewlett Packard and Apple could have never started in a garage.

if you are crazy enough to dream something like that... you are probably smart enough to know the general path to achieve that dream. He is more than capable of doing what he set out for

INSANE production quality. Extremely useful project. Your videos seem to get better every upload. It's insane. I'm definitely looking forward to the next update on this project. Keep on going!
    Also poor 3d printer 😬

I thought it would only push with a few grams of force and then it WENT! lmao

Haha yes. Same here. That is why i brought out those big daddy steppers incase. But its enough with the small one.

Great video! I do not know first thing about producing electronics, so please feel free to correct me here. I have always assumed that asking the PCB manufacturer to solder all the components is cheaper than soldering them yourself if a lot of boards are produced. Did you consider such option?

    • @MariusHeier1
      @MariusHeier1  Год назад

Thank you. It depends on how you calculate the cost. My labour does not have any capital cost. Buying finished products has. It also require quite a large batch to be made. Which increase the capital risk. Also, electrical components unassembled can be made into multiple products. But once they are soldered, you almost cannot take them off. They also have limited on how many times they can be soldered.

You should make an option to solder all of this for ourselves cuz even I believe 20$ is 2 much for such board... I respect your effort into it but still...

I think i would sell a lot more boards if they where cheaper.

When is PS4 USB-C coming back in-stock? My Dualshock 4 Micro USB port is literally starting to break and I have to keep moving the charger for it to work. I don't want to order anymore Micro USB too so I don't want to buy a circuit board of Micro USB and I really need this. Please! I've been waiting for the item to go back in stock since July and it's still Sold-Out. I live in Canada.

I just got an email from a robot called Skynet. It seemed nice. I'm scheduling an interview. Dont expect that much from these robots though.
