You're doing a far better job than other brands ever will, if you release it one day, i will 100% buy them theres no doubt.
I've had countless controllers and i'm just getting tired of wasting so much money on them.
I play competitively and my last PS5 Controller lasted about 2-3 months which is highly disappointing.
Thank you! We need to get some new sticks out there!! :) Thanks for supporting me.
I've had many controllers and for years playing on the same ones, my ps4 controller was the first I've seen to last a lot longer on the factory analog sticks but I can tell it's seen better days. I will support you when I get a chance because I cannot play any racing games without feeling the resistance building up in the stick. I don't notice it too much In shooters but trying to round a corner in a car that wants to spin out is hard when the stick doesn't want to turn anymore without giving it too much force. It's not getting better and I'm not gonna go the same old analog stick route and just keep replacing them. I can tell when they start to go but aren't sticking or drifting yet. The movement becomes sloppy and inconsistent
@@MariusHeier1 as cool as this is, as somebody who alternates between the PS4 controller and an Xbox One controller on my PC depending on what game I'm playing, it would be amazing if you could create this project for the Xbox controller as well. That would be amazing. And of course, you have to do it for the next gen consoles as well, but more people have the old consoles so it makes more sense to start there.
As a professional in the repair industry you have my full fledged support on this project, and assuming you make it to final end product I will be purchasing thousands of these from you.
Subscribed, bell on. Can’t wait to see more!!
This is awesome. I have been looking for hall effect modules for the ps4 controllers for quite a while, and I was beyond excited when I stumbled across both your videos. I can't wait to see where this goes! Subbed and much love.
Man i just discovered your channel trough the USB-C board and i must say you revolutionized the PS4 Controller itself. I subbed rn and will order as soon as possible. Keep the awsome and inspiring work up
Thanks. That is cool to know. People buying boards are what makes me able to do this. I only recently started making videos about my next phase :)
Congrats man! very very cool project. I hope that you get there! 👏👏👏
Inch by inch!! 🙏
Love this project, excited for the future to come!
Thank you thank you!!!
This is going much faster than I thought! Good stuff man!
Thank you! Getting there!
I want in on this! Love the hard work my man!
I absolutely LOVE my PS4 controllers! One of the best controllers out there, and I really want to future-proof them as much as possible. Already bought a bunch of your usb-c mods! I would absolutely get one, if not many, of these!
That is awesome! Yes i love the PS4 controller. Will def make tons of stuff to it! No point stopping now :D
This looks so good! Can't wait to see what you cook up next!
Thank you :):)
I got my USB C attached. Works like a charm! Looking forward to see how you go with these ones.
Awesome! Im gald to hear that :)
I Support you man 100% 🙏🏻
Only channel that I actually have notifications enabled for.
Keep up the amazing work!
Wow, thanks! I will! Just getting started!
@@MariusHeier1 Looking forward to day you finalize this and (maybe?) release something similar for xbox controllers, newer ones already have type-c which is nice.
Also love how lots of the parts you use are 3d printed.
@@Hector-Romero Yes. Its super nice for rapid prototyping.
@@Hector-Romero Yes for sure. They all use the same name and brand stick. So it should work
holy shit, i searched the internet for this with no result, until your channel appeared. Im subing and hitting that bell, i would love to buy one of these joysticks for my PS4 controller! You are the best, i'm sure that you will arrive one day to your objective!
Thank you for subbing! Its going along nicely!!
Me too !!
holy shit this is insane man, good luck !!! and thank you for figuring this out
Lets make it all the way to the end :D
marius ma boi, ordered 4 boards now that the 11 is available. thank you for your project and i hope we will see the hall effect joysticks (:
That is whats up!! Thank you!!!! Hall sticks are creeping up as well!
incredibly interesting project
🙏🙏 Thanks
Just got done cleaning my potentiometers and looked up hall effects. It's a shame they don't use hall effect from the factory especially when these new controllers are 70 USD. I would buy a board off you for sure. This is seriously awesome stuff. I always wondered why they didn't change to USB c for PS4 either but I seen you did that too. Crazy no one did this years ago. I subbed and 🔔 ed
Because in 2013 that tech probably would have been a lot more expensive, have you seen how much USBC cables cost? They cost as much as Apple cables now. Nobody was ready for that back then.
It just keeps getting more and more interesting, if this carries on I will have to buy a PS4 !....cheers.
Haha. Thank you. I bet you could get a new PS4 for the price of a single PS5 controller now.
Looking forward to this. 👍
You and me both!
I so want this for my favorite ps4 controller. I would buy lots of these for old worn out sticks.
How could we miss this amazing project🤣!
Never to late 😃
Can't wait to expect more!🤩
Amazing work!
Thank you ;)
amazing job, so much better than what sony is doing with their own controllers
those usb type C boards that i got from you work like charm. keep it going, I will surely buy the hull effect stick board if you ever decide to sell it.
Awesome! Im so happy to hear that. The hall sticks are gonna be exciting. Working on them right now
@@MariusHeier1 I really hope this ends up working out. I just had to spend 70 dollars for a new controller for my PS4....it only lasted a couple years.
@@Spottedfeather Its happening! That is for sure. Working on it right now. New video coming out soon as well.
@@MariusHeier1 you're making these stick for the PS4 controller ? That's awesome. Will it be something you can replace the stock joystick with, or will you have to replace the entire board inside the controller ?
@@Spottedfeatheryou need his custom usb-c circuit board to use the Hall effect sticks he made
Subbed. Very interested in seeing where you go with this. Spherical magnets seem like a bad idea considering it may be harder to stop them from slipping.
Hey. Thanks for subbing. I found some spherical magnets with holes in the poles. Which will make it slipfree. But it might be better to use a diametrical magnet on the opposite side. Experimenting with it right now. ;)
Please make this! I will buy one right now!
Just discovered you, this is great work. Id love to see you produce something like a GMK joystick or MaxxSticks joystick for keyboard peripheral.
The Dualshock 4 really is the best controller released in the last few years. It's a crying shame Sony abandoned it completely for their new Dualsense controllers. Excited to see more of this in the future!
I agree. I think so to. The jds001 ds4 is in my opinion the greatest controller ever made. Its why i like to make stuff for it first.
@@MariusHeier1 Yeah, which just makes the fact people keep tossing JDS-001s out that much more galling. Other than the power board ribbon splitting easily, and the stock thumbstick going to goo, these controllers are lovely to work on. I've got 1 primary I've had for 5 years now, and a pile of scrap ones in varying condition. Definitely ordering your upgrade board come payday to cut one more item off the potential maintenance list.
@@KiraSlith Yeah that sucks. I have gone trough the design of all the controllers and the first is the best. The rest of the series have changes, that almost only is to lower manufacturing cost without regarding the loss of durability.
Ive had decent luck with my ps4 controllers and honestly my priority goes: USB C (you fixed that problem and I will definitely be buying a few soon), Joy sticks (Id definitely buy a board as long as it supports the same features a ps4 controller normally supports. I.E. WIred play and bluetooth connection to phones) and battery life after that. Thank you so much for the work you're doing and I'd love to see you work with BattleBeaver some day ? I think your edition to their controllers would be the best controller on the market. Either way you're amazing in your own right and I hope only good things come your way.
Thanks for the nice comment. I hear only good things about BattleBeaver 😁👌🙂
Perhaps you could show the dual sense 5 some love after you get that ps4 straightened out. Your doing Gods work 🙏🙏🙏
Its the same sticks thankfully. I got one on the shelf waiting :)
Looks very interesting project! I hate that modern console controllers still don't come with hall effect sensors from the factory when everybody knows it's superior technology and wouldn't be that expensive compared to the whole controller.
Straight into my PS Vita it goes.
when you create your spacemouse version? in my opinion you have all competitions for this project
truly hero!
Kind of you to day that 🙏🙂
Man, here I was hoping I could just solder hall-effect sensors to the places where the Potentiometers used to go and then use Helder's Stick-Drift Fix to adjust them to work with the PS4 controller board.
But of course I would buy one, more if you can make them work as PS3 controllers as well so I could hook it up to a PSP Go.
Yup. Im my new video coming up im explaining specially why its alot harder to replace the potmeters with hall sensors.
This is so awesome! Would be great to see more battery life out of the dualshock (bigger battery with proper battery level indicator?) it dies too fast in my opinion!
Thank you. Low battery usually comes as a surprise so an indicator would be nice!
Is this out to buy yet? If not when will it be out? I will buy one when it drops.
I would love to get something like this or just send in my controller and get it retrofitted instead lol. I just recently got my first PS4 from someone selling but their controller has serious drift in both sticks and the tension spring in the left stick is pretty bad shape since it leans heavily in a direction.
One thing I'd love to see is an improved D-Pad for the PS4 Controller. The current one is fairly mushy because it's membrane and not as nice as the tactile dpads in the Xbox one and stadia controllers.
(Also, love the USB-C board, fits and works perfectly in my controller)
Awesome! Im happy to hear that. :) What about adjustable trigger point buttons with programmable vibration feedback?
@@MariusHeier1 Sounds amazing! Very interested to see what you come up with!
I'm very interested in those as i've got a couple DS4 that would really need a new pair of sticks but I'm also wondering if it's possible that other controller using ALPS analog sticks (stuff like Nacon / Power A / PDP etc) could use those as drop in replacements or it's a definite no from the start?
If its 3.3v it most likely will work
Hey ! I love your videos and your dualshock4 mods . I dream of a solid ds4 being really accustomed to its layout , I really cant play on anything else for fighting games .Your work is very promising . Much love from france .
Thank you so much! This is exactly what im working on. When fighting games do you mean like cod, fortnite. Or tekken, mortal combat stuff?
@@MariusHeier1 I play street fighter !
@@spookyboi5829 Cool. Are you using r2 and l2 for those as well?
@@MariusHeier1 I do quite often yes !
Is there a way I can buy this service? I am a professional player. I’m also very good at electronics, so an in-depth guide to doing this would be cool too. I support you ❤
Love that you are doing this I would def buy that with the USB-C mod. My ps4 custom controller has so much stick drift and its unusable, I dont wanna have to buy a new custom controller (200$) just because of the stick drift so this would come in clutch and save alot of money and get better experience with those joysticks. I would use this controller for Rocket League if you wanted to know. Also any news on the project yet (release date/price)?
Thank you for your comment! Not yet. Probably 1-2 month out. Price will be reasonable. Not Sony prices. 😎
@@MariusHeier1 just subscribed to your patreon, really excited
@@RafnII Thank you so much! Thanks for supporting progress and independent tech research 😃🙏
Maybe Sony has some leftovers from their Dualshock3 controller that came with hall-sensor analoge sticks 😅 at least a thing to try to put these in a DS4 or Dualsense
This is an amazing project and I hope you can make it come to fruition!
But I can't help but wonder, would there be a way for users to fine tune deadzones?
It seems like as long as something is marketed as "no stick drift" everyone goes insane, but no one seems to realize that sometimes there's too much deadzone and precision gets thrown out of the window.
I had two experiences with hall effect controllers, the XBox Controller (triggers only) and the Steelseries Stratus (sticks & triggers), and both had either too much deadzone or the input was jumpy because of bad calibration and there was no way to fix this.
I'd love to have a calibration tool to really dial in these settings without any limits, from making a stick almost work like a dpad or triggers sending 70% input while fully bottomed out, that would be really nice to have.
You are 100% right. When they claim no drift. They just mean, no noise drift. Deadzone drift is still the same. And dead zone drift is atleast what i get at about 2-4 weeks of gaming. Its because of the spring recentering mechanism. I have already sucsessfully tested a return to center mechanism based of diametrical ring magnets. And it works great. I might have posted a yt short about it.
To much dead zone might be a sign of low resolution output from the hall sensors. But might also be because some anti noise algorithm they use. Or because of unsymmetrical magnetic fields.
When we write out own software for these things we can basically do whatever we want. That is the beauty of that part.
When is PS4 USB-C coming back in-stock? My Dualshock 4 Micro USB port is literally starting to break and I have to keep moving the charger for it to work. I don't want to order anymore Micro USB too so I don't want to buy a circuit board of Micro USB and I really need this. Please! I've been waiting for the item to go back in stock since July and it's still Sold-Out. I live in Canada.
We desperately need hall effect joysticks for the PS5 controller. They only last a matter of months before drifting. I have to keep cleaning the pots and replacing the sensor. The new £200 Sony controller still uses pots that can be replaced easily, but they are £20 EACH! Hardly worth it for something that's going to last 6 months max.
Tell me about it. I just bought a ps5 module for the video im making now. It was 28$ in Norway. Crazy. The same joystick will work for PS5 ;)
Noen oppdaatering på om det er mulig å lodde dette/GuiliKit sine HE Sticks til en PS4/5/Xbox konntroller? Finner ingenting på nettsiden din.
Nope. Gjorde det her. ruclips.net/video/B81WED6vK3Y/видео.html

did u make a whole controller? can i buy it anywhere or is it still in process?

@@imrin4059 Oh that will happen for sure.
yes make a ps 4 remote with this joysticks iwill buy it ...send me your webpage so i can order it
Does this have more latency than analog?
Yes for sure! This setup is actually using three computers, even it looks like it's only using my laptop. But deployed to a controller. It would be alot faster.
Just take my money and give it to me. :) subbing so I know when it will happen. I've searched whole internet for it. You are my /our only hope.
I still don't get how Sony went trough 5 generations of consoles, and filled ps5 pad with shitload of electronics, but they still didnt do anything about that half year(or less) sensor life span.
Money.. Figures
There are probably many reasons here are the biggest i think. Sony sees it as a business oppertunity to sell replacement joysticks. That almost cost the full price of a PS4 controller. Its only one manufacture in the entire world that can make the volume of joysticks they need.
Fucking genius! I'll be following. Du er norsk er du ikke? 😁
Haha ja. Er fra Norge ja!
Sony and Microsoft will never use hall effect joysticks controller sales make to much monies for repeat buys
I think you are onto something here 😃🙏
Blew my mind 🤯🧠 I will never attain your lvl of greatness but I've built the old pots back butter 🧈🫠 lol.
And put XBox elite V2 sticks in my DS4 fully, mastered stick circularity & recalibration for what it's worth 🤷🏼♂️, with custom made sticks...
Thats awesome. You probably have time to learn more..im old (42 i think). Thanks for your other feedback and taking the time to write comments :) ☺️
sony pads really sux ass I have nacon on ps4 slim😁
Shut up and take my money!!!
one thing i hate about the playstation controllers are their stubborn reliance for internal batteries which means greater risk of damage when opening to replace that piece of garbage, Should have just used the double a rechargeable cell models like xbox
Yes. I agree. They kinda like design things in a way that make them more money.
@@MariusHeier1 what a shame that removable batteries is so easy to do on controllers but only xbox does it.
@@MariusHeier1 oh i forgot, the NexiGo PS5 Controller Accessories Rechargeable Battery Pack is basically that , but sadly no ps4 version
This is far from basic DIY but still this single dude does this by himself and we are still stuck with Sony and Microsoft just bending us over giving us normal shitty joysticks still?!
They 100% can implement this whenever they want they just don't want to
Yes. You are 100% right. I really hope for their sake they know how to do this. Its just very basic position control.
First!
