I'm pretty certain this was a conscious mechanic the devs made, because when you repeat the process over and over and finish, you're also rewarded with skill experience. Even the trader NPC's tell you "there's plenty of gold to be made trading between shops" meaning doing this.
No the intention was for you to buy stock in one region while it is cheap, and sell it in another. It’s basic supply and demand. One shop has a lot of supply, the other has a lot of demand. “I have lots, so it is worth little and I sell it cheap” vs “I have none of this, this is valuable to me!”. But in fable, after buying up a shop’s stock, that trader is treated as any other trader with 0 stock of that item, when they SHOULD sell them back for the same price or less. Think of that stupid Prime drink. Everyone bought it, so it’s value shot up. But if you went into a shop now and bought every bottle of prime in the shop, you couldn’t then sell it back to the shopkeeper because “it is scarce now”, you’d be laughed out of the shop. That is how fable shopkeepers SHOULD react.
Another thing to add, once you get a mass stock of Gems. You can earn up to 100K+ depending on what gems you have and how many, by the time I have Bowerstone North unlocked, I have about 1.5 million gold which is WAY more than achievable in normal game play.
There is a faster way, if you have say 500 apples, and sell them but go to the previous "gift" tab and have a high selling item like a diamond or jet, when you sell your 500 apples you receive the price of the gift:) u can make 500 or more if lucky on one sell, repeat and have millions, also you technically dupe the items too to get even more
You can also buy a house, break the door when you own it and then hang up a trophy to sell the house for more, then walk back in take back the trophy and then rebuy the house for less, rinse and repeat
Unfortunately, this glitch is quite useless, as money in Fable is also quite useless. You can buy the top armor set right after a few of the first main quests and the best sword in the game right after the arena quest. Considering that HP and MP potions cost so little, you can buy any amount of them you need and still have full pockets of money. Having played this game multiple times and considering it my favorite, I have completed it around 10 times. However, I must admit that every RPG element in this game simply sucks
Wow... just wow. Fable just keeps surprising me 😯

🤯
The mechanic is intended, but this specific exploit wasn't. They didn't consider that people would just immediately sell their stock back to them.
@@burnttoast26how you know that though
@@TheAbzAyy It's pretty obvious it wasn't, like basically any exploit
