You just buy a bunch of items all at the same time for really cheap!! Then you immediately sell all those items back to the vendor!! As long as you buy them cheaply enough, it works!! This is especially useful in Oakvale, where you can buy a whole stack of emeralds then resell them for thousands apiece!! P

There is a free bed located behind the tavern close to where the blue mushroom quest is given/completed. Saves you the gold you'd spend sleeping in the tavern.
Joshua Boyd All beds are free if you run fast enough. Try sleeping on a mat in bowerstone but run away from the mat as you hit accept. You'll never get charged for trespassing aslong as you arent still at the bed when the screen blacks out.
This is better advice than the video. lol
Yeah... You don't even need to run... Just find a shack especially in the Bowerstone Quarry... Just simply sleep. You're not bothered at all and FFS the martial home is way cheap after a couple of card games, no exploit
LMAO back when I used to play the old fable from like 2005 me and my brother did this trick where you buy a house, break the door, put a trophy on the wall and then sell it and then go back in take it off and re buy for less...not sure if it's any better but I remember that one.

I can say that this is working right now on xbox one series s as of 12-13-2022. Make sure the vendor has all 44 emeralds in Oakvale. Buy them all up, then turn around and sell them back right away. I am making roughly 17,000 gold per turn. I am not sure how long I been doing this glitch today. But my pitiful sorry around of 5,000 gold is now 1,103,177 thanks to this glitch. Also thank you to the person who posted this video.
Still works in 2024… i made 100k gold buying and reselling apple pies for about 20 minutes
a good way to speed up your moneygain after this trick, or if you have 5k+, is to buy all the emeralds in oakvale general shop, or anywhere else i'd guess, and sell them back for like 300-400 profit per gem.

Thanks, it is kinda common sense but because they don’t have a cash limit it’s definitely a glitch and the best. And like you say you can do it with other stuff like gifts which makes you bare more gold and an extra good tip which I don’t believe you mentioned is keep all what you used if high in value as when you are low on gold and find another trader if they don’t have full stock but you have enough to sell them and max their stock you can then buy it back cheaper and make profit without needing to sleep, so even a travelling trader you can earn from, long as they sell gifts etc.. again thanks, idc what others have said I’ve played all 3 fable’s and still forgot about this for this game and it’s helped me enjoy my playful again a lot more. 👍🏼

So thank you ^_^ Btw, just as a side-note for the extra short on cash, I always use the bedding in the slums for free, and run out of the shack before the screen fades (just to be sure I'm not caught trespassing).
I used to use the slums in Bowerstone, but later on I realized that I'm not that stingy. LOLZ!! Thank you very much for the comments!!

I figured out the problem lmao. When I bought the apples thats all I had in my inventory to sell, so I bought a bunch of potions and now the sell tab isnt graed out anymore. Disregard my last comment :3 All your Fable videos are helping me remember stuff lol Keep it up!

Clickbait title. This glitch is well known, and calling it "instant" is misleading since you have to cycle through buying/selling items repeatedly to accumulate funds.

Gems take ages to restock, sometimes they don't, I recommend always re-buying the gems in the end, you'll still make profit, especially if you did the buying/selling process a lot before.
You don't know how happy I am to know they kept this trick, my hope in Lionhead has returned.

I do this trick a little later in the game with the gems (Oakvile is the best place) and the profit for ONE gem is around 250 gold! Buy 100 and sell 100 and the profit is huge!
I'm actually a long veteran of Fable 1. I've played it inside and out, with only a fistful of small secrets evading my knowledge. I, obviously, knew this trick. It's really simple, an exploit of a slight gap in the game's logic. I like it. I came here to see if this trick was any different in the Anniversary, and I learned about the difficulty problem, which sure makes me grumpy.
I was just thinking that te way they removd it in ahrd mode is...Not the best method. I was thinking about it, and in my mind they should have given the NPCs a limit of gold per day or week or what have you, so that you can clean them out, but not have infinite money.
Either way to make this money, I gotta start my whole game over! And I JUST killed the white balverine. Damn.

i started playing this game 3 days ago, i already found out about this trick, if any vendor has a lot of something he'll sell it for a cheap price, just buy all, since he doesn't have any, he'll pay a lot to have some, so sell all, when you make some money, change the vendor looking for another one who has a lot of any expensive item, people who sell gifts are good, i started with beer at the darkwood camp, and then to wedding ring and ruby at ockvale, then to diamond at north bridestone, i can make 100.000 gold in one minute, but it's kinda lame that i learned this so early, the game is no longer challenging

HEY! A good free bed in Bowerstone is right across from the mom with the mushroomed teenager. In the hutch there's a free bed to get the two days you need to max up the apples. Do the same crap in Oakvale with emeralds!!

Using apples is ok, but you can use other items such as potions for this trick.

Edit: I was playing on heroic difficulty. This still works in normal mode
I know its been awhile; but the trick was nerfed, not taken out, in Heroic mode; so you have to acquire the items to sell first, and you won't get a profit without guile leveled up.

I have a tip better than it. In 5 minutes, you can ger about 200k or more gold. But for it work, you need to unblock the TwinBlade Camp. There is one shop of items. Then, buy Jets and sell it. Each time, your profit is arround 7k. Does not is necessary to sleep or even get out the shop.
So what am I supposed to do exactly when I'm legit loosing all my money? I stocked up close to 500 I sell them for it says 3 (4) lose of 1 but I buy them all for one gold so how am I loosing money?
You can sleep in any building and not have to pay as long as you get out of the building before the black screen is over
Does this work on heroic mode? I know that it doesn't really work with gems on heroic mode. Unless I was working with too low of numbers?
You get 314 from apples with a profit of 1/apple, 1020 from apple pies, the profit is 8/pie, 176 from carrots, the profit here is 2/carrot, 860 from grain sacks, the profit is 9/sack, and a whooping 1148 from cider crates with a profit of 5/crate.
Twinblades bandit camp is a great place for this too

So the idea is you do this until you have enough money to buy all the really expensive stuff, wait till they get more, buy it out, wait again, THEN you will have something like 50-60 chocolates and theeeennnnn you start piling up gems and it's crazy. Trust.
This was a trick in Fable on the classic Xbox... get with the times I used this 10 years ago it's called "supply and demand" you have items he doesn't hence the price increase

Yes it does. If it doesn't work, try getting higher guile and making sure they have a lot of the item. Even better if it's at it's max stock.

As soon as you leave the heros guild at the start, travel/walk all the way back to oakvale, you should have enough gold, and probably pick up an emerald or 2 on the way

Help me, there was a cheat you could use in TLC that involved buying a house, and upgrading it to the point that a trophy stand would appear, then you put a trophy, you break the door, and you sell your house, so when the doors are broken you can enter and take the trophy, then you buy the house, like that you get the money from your trophy, and you keep doing it and doing it. But... can I make it in this version?
From what I remember, I actually TRIED doing that trick in TLC and I couldn't make it work. :/

Im guessing they patched the steam version, since it came out almost 9 months after the xbox version... I cant do this anymore, used to do it in the lost chapters.. Very disappointing,
I even boosted my guile to level 3, i havent done anything past the orchard farm quest.
Tanner Travers if You're doing this on the PC, you need to make sure the difficulty is set to Normal or Average, as this trick will not work on the harder difficulties.

I can't get this to work, I have level 5 guile, and whenever I sell anything I lose money.(unless I found the items in a chest/didn't pay for them) Do I need all 214 apples for this to work? If so, how do I get the merchant to stock that many? I remember this working in the old Fable TLC, but I can't get it to work here, has it been patched on PC?
You can do this with only 213 apples, but the important thing is that you buy them for less than you sell them. You can use this strategy with ANY item that has a whole bunch of a certain item, that if you buy all of them, you can sell them for more than what you paid.
First of all, which merchant are you at? Describe the merchant and location as specifically as you can.
FurryMurry7 I'm using the merchant in the video, and the one in oakvale, I tried with potions, apples, gems, and perfume, still lost money. I saved before each attempt, so no real monetary loss there lol
I'll buy all the items they have, but they always have 13 of anything at the most, and I lose at least 1/4 of the money I spent buying the items. I'll try on a new hero, I haven't gotten very far with this one for it to be a huge loss of time.

It was because I was playing on Heroic difficulty(which is stupid, you don't take out Resurrection vials and call it hard mode)
I started a new Hero on "Chicken" difficulty(which is insulting to Fable TLC players), went to Bowerstone and noticed the merchant there had over 100 apples for sale. In Heroic mode, he only has about 11 apples at a time. I hate to sound like an ass, but could you mention that it needs to be in normal/"Chicken" difficulty for this glitch to work? Sorry for spamming you, dude.

Got a better method.
When you get the bandit seal (preferably the "Spot the Addition" pub game) at the find the bandit seeress mission. Do a hero save. And talk to the man again to play the game. You should notice a bunch of gold in your wallet by the billions if not trillions. Do a hero save and the gold is yours. By the end of this, you should have a maximum of 9,999,999 gold.

For some reason, when i do it, it doesn't show that i have profit. It says i lose 1

When you get ready to buy the apples, what is the price per apple? It should say 1(4) or it should say 1(2) as the "buy" price.
