Pretty sure you could get a double and either fries or drink for £2.49 a couple of years ago? The single and chicken mayo were £1 savers with the double at £1.59 . At least when it was cheap there was a reason. It costs more, tastes worse and you wait longer.. no thanks

Just subscribed as I've been watching you for sometime now and I am loving your reviews I was going to try this today but I won't bother now as I thought the chilli would have been a bit spicy not sweet I don't understand why they just don't put it as an customisation option on the double cheese burger but guess its advertising and promotion for mcdonalds to get the customers in and thier profits up, who knows if its popular then the sauce will appear in the customisation section The only thing I go to mcdonalds now is the mcdonalds Monday

No reviews today, so I decided to do some kitchen work. I started to get ready for my New Year's Party. I usually have a curry buffet and for some reason I serve a curry with a halved hard boiled egg on top. Brought up in East End of London? that was normal for my Indian neighbours to do. Also curried eggs, halved, with mayo and curry powder was a side dish. So tonight I've done 2 dozen pickled eggs. I did 1 dozen using normal pickling spice. And I'm trying something different. I've done another dozen in white vinegar and Carolina Reaper chilli powder. I've never had a pickled chilli egg before. So I'm interested how they come out. 🤔🤔. Going off the subject of food? I went shopping in Lidl and Asda tonight. I must have passed at least a hundred people. I only saw one or two people wearing a poppy other than me. Wearing a poppy is not just a tradition, it's about respect for those who died in wars to defend freedom. Maybe I'm just getting too old? But as a 20 year Service member? I respect sacrifice in all it's forms.
I haven't been to McDonalds since lockdown - I was still working, most weren't and every morning I would encounter traffic jams due to people queuing for the drive through all the way through the carpark, out onto the main road and round a round about in multiple directions. Imagine wanting something so much you'd defy logic and block a road off to wait for it 🤣
The only burger they have put out recently that I enjoyed was the double quarter pounder deluxe. The McRib was McRank when I tried one again the other week, putting bbq sauce on a sausage McMuffin is nicer.
Considering that their so-called chilli burger is very very mild it’s not any different from their burgers with Ketchup then. I usually don’t eat Mc Donald’s food, sometimes when I’m out I don’t have a choice, but I always carry a bottle of hot chilli sauce with me in my ruc-sac, which makes Mc Donald’s food bearable.

You're looking good Gareth especially with the glasses, makes you look very academic. 🤓🥰
Oh thank you!
Gareth. Part of you is still in the army, as a frontline food reviewing soldier.
Thanks for taking another hit for us viewers.
Cheers mate 👍😀
Cheers John
Looks like they have just stuck some chili sauce onto one of their saver menu burgers and renamed it.
As bad as it may be, hard to argue against £2.49 as a quick snack when a singular packet of crisps nowadays are £1 or more.
Not too bad when you look at it like that.
@@kieranhudson4938 I hate that the double use to be 1.59? I’m sure it was that at one point..
Pretty sure you could get a double and either fries or drink for £2.49 a couple of years ago? The single and chicken mayo were £1 savers with the double at £1.59 . At least when it was cheap there was a reason. It costs more, tastes worse and you wait longer.. no thanks
@@Sam-es2gfcorrect. The double cheese was £1.49 and a medium fries or medium coke was 99p
I used to get double cheese, medium fries medium coke for less than £3.50
With a voucher from the free metro paper it was £1.99 for a "Big" Mac and fries. Even then I felt a bit ripped off tbh, but it hit the spot after a few beers.
"Nothing special" was my exact reaction to having one yesterday. Maccies wanna up their game a bit!
McRobbery
Mcrubbery 😊
It's a lot of things but robbery isn't one of then. At £2.49, that is a bargain price when you consider what the price of things are these days.
@@DamonSlater It's not a burger , it's barely a mouthfull.
@@Stuart-f2m the size of it doesn't determine whether it's a burger or not. It's a burger nonetheless, albeit a small one. But at £2.49, it's justfied for that size.
@@DamonSlater Gareth who has. 1st hand experience of this burger calls the burger a joke for the price & I , along with most of his viewers agree. You want a Mini me burger , fill yer boots .
Great review why do the burgers always look like they been thrown about 😂 can u maybe recreate this at home even use the rustlers or the similar type that be a great video to do 😊
Happy birthday 🎂 hope your well 😊👌
Looks tiny!
Looking well Gaz, all the best mate 😊
Thanks 👍
It's a pretty sad looking burger with the fake processed cheese. I am glad you took the plunge instead of me.
I have to stop watching your vids at night. I end up heading to the kitchen.
I’m already getting fat
Oh, does anyone remember Falling Down?
Where are the jalapeños and crispy onions… you was given a double cheeseburger only. Go back.
They don't have crispy onions, just regular ones applied on the grill
@@abbeyswift8996Carmalised Onions would make those burgers taste better
I'm afraid the bread looked stale to me and it's been put together using a catapult as usual I haven't been to McDonalds for nearly 12 months. The only reason I ever called there was because it's quick and clean a lot of these takeaways are not clean and I wouldn't let my neighbours dog in them. A good review keep exposing these awful takeaway establishments and one day folks might listen to you.
I'm glad nobody is talking to you about how a chicken burger isn't a chicken burger 😂
I call 'em Dino burgers 😂🍔
@mclovin6039 a chicken burger sometimes got me feeling prehistoric!
Well said!
Great review Gaz and that was a bit of a letdown and i am glad i haven’t been there for the last 5 years and thank goodness for that 👍👍
@@peterclarke3300 cheers Peter
Yeah it'll stay limited time as people try them and realise 'what is this.....'
Just subscribed as I've been watching you for sometime now and I am loving your reviews
I was going to try this today but I won't bother now as I thought the chilli would have been a bit spicy not sweet
I don't understand why they just don't put it as an customisation option on the double cheese burger but guess its advertising and promotion for mcdonalds to get the customers in and thier profits up, who knows if its popular then the sauce will appear in the customisation section
The only thing I go to mcdonalds now is the mcdonalds Monday
Thanks kindly ☺️
You should have taken that back Gareth they made a right mess of that burger
Yes probably substitute it with a worse one.
@@BaldFoodieGuy 😂
Have you tried any of the Sushi sets and dragon rolls Gareth as a alternative from the western food ,some although expensive served at room temperature with wasabi mustard and soy are tasty and easy to eat especially after visit from the dentist .
Not yet
Did you get any seagulls sat on your bonnet begging in that car park!?
No amazingly
The seagulls busy running McDonald’s head office
I can't speak for other countrys .But in the UK no matter what Mc Donnalds you go into you know exactley what your going to get ,which is more than can be said for most fast food outlets .
People still eating at McDonald's quite frankly deserve all of the disappointments they get at this point.
Just Subbed To Your Channel Gareth Been Watching Your Videos For Years Gareth Regards mike 😄
About time 🤣
I don’t like chillies or jalapeños. But the cheeseburger itself looks good. I think they’ve changed the sauce for the Big Mac. Doesn’t taste nice.
If you don’t like chillies then you have crap taste. Lastly the Mc Donald’s chilli sauce is so mild it doesn’t taste any different from Ketchup.
@ how rude.
Thanks for the heads up Gareth, I certainly wont be buying that.
They shouldn't be allowed to use advertising pictures which look sod all like what you're served.
Bit tight with the jalapeno
Burger reminds me of Falling Down 😬
Yes one I got lol
Just gotten over Norovirus that I suspect was from a McDonalds meal lol
Sorry to hear it Jim
Looking good my friend. Wonderful to see you, doing so well. Much ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Was gonna get 1 of these but after seeing how small and unappetising it looks I don't think I shall bother especially priced at £2.49. will probably try the the big stack from Aldi and pop chilli sauce upon it. Thanks for informative video.
‘That bun is quite hard’ so would you be if you had been sat in a McDonalds store room for six years.
The not so hot chilli burger range at McDonald’s. 😂
McDonald's just know how to disappoint, way better places out there, i'd avoid here.
I did try the Spicy Chilli Cheese Double Cheeseburger and i am impressed with it. I didn’t have Spicy Relish on mine because if i had that Sauce on it , it would make my face turn red like a Tomato. It was a nice Burger and it was very good value.
I've noticed that at McDonald's lately. Their buns are very often not as fresh as they should be. Can't stand stale bread. Don't give them to your customers. They deserve better.
Glad you said that. The bread just isn't like it used to be. Almost like it's packed with artificial ingredients, It used to be light and fluffy.
Well done Gareth.
You ate it so we don't have to.
Perhaps rename the channel to "Grumpy Old Bald Foodie Guy"? 😂😂😂
Haha 👌
New Chilli Double 'I Don't Want To Live' Burger.
This is what happens when McDonald's put Donald Trump on griddle duty Gareth you get an orange looking burger 🍔
Hi Gareth firstly you look well, secondly this burger is not for me , I would rather use veggie burgers with lettuce, cucumber and cheese with tomato sauce, I went in McDonald's and I got the £5 meal deal was disappointed with it,much rather get a Morrisons or Tesco meal deal for £4 xx loving the content
Thanks Nicola 👍
The burger was so small!
I have never very found anything in McDonald's that resembles food
I had one today, its really not bad at all. Nice to have something with some spice on the menu
"Its diddy" you know what you was doing gary 😂😂
Hope you well Gerry
Great video as always!
Thanks
I haven't been to McDonalds since lockdown - I was still working, most weren't and every morning I would encounter traffic jams due to people queuing for the drive through all the way through the carpark, out onto the main road and round a round about in multiple directions. Imagine wanting something so much you'd defy logic and block a road off to wait for it 🤣
The only burger they have put out recently that I enjoyed was the double quarter pounder deluxe. The McRib was McRank when I tried one again the other week, putting bbq sauce on a sausage McMuffin is nicer.
Mmm looks good 💜🤗 would take out the pickles though tbh
Thnks for info.
