- EL AL is ending the service of their B747, after 48 years of operation. The Israeli airline celebrated their "Queen of the Sky" with 2 special flights from Tel Aviv to Rome and back to Tel Aviv last weekend. This video is part 1 of 2 featuring flight LY1744 from Tel Aviv to Rome on 1 November, 2019.
A reception was held at the gate which displayed a lot of EL AL B747 pictures and unforgettable moments. The Boeing 747 plays an important role in EL AL history, including carrying over 1,100 Ethiopian Jews to Israel on a single B747; which is still the World Record.
Many passengers shared their deep connections and emotions with their beloved B747. There were husband and wife purser team on-board, also father and daughter team to operate the last B747. I sat behind the pilots to observe the last takeoff of EL AL B747 out of Tel Aviv.

The 2nd part (coming this weekend) will feature the return sector from Rome to Tel Aviv with a very unique drawing of a 747 Jumbo Jet in the sky!
Because the love of this airplane 747 and aviation, I got to meet many great and interesting people and experiences around the globe. Please don't miss Saturday's 2nd part which we drew a Boeing 747 in the sky on the flight back. This is a very unique and exciting experience!

I don’t comment often but I have to give this man and the community he has created a massive amount of credit. Most videos and clips posted on RUclips about Israel often turn in to very heated comment section with people fighting over politics and the message of the content is lost. This is literally the first clip I have ever seen about Israel that isn’t filled with hateful comments and I think it’s amazing. It is a testament to this man and to the people who follow his journey.
Sam, I’m one of your first subscribers, I never missed a video. I've D.M you about visiting El Al and israel a few times over the years, and you finely did that. THANK YOU. el al is the safest airline in the world (there is no other way for an Israeli company) their so much protection and defense tech involved in every airplane, old and new. In 1990 I was 5 years old when my family escaped the braking Soviet Union to Israel. 747-200 was the airplane that brought us home safely, and it's one of the most important memories I have. Hope you enjoyed your time in Israel and I hope to see you again here in the only Jewish state on the planet, the state of ISRAEL 🇮🇱
It is wonderful to see how much history is behind this plane. How many times this plane came through the golden doors to our home. The land of the Israel. Thank you for the best pilots on the planet. Pilots you can always trust and feel safe with.

i love the 747! i had the honor flying on the TWA 747-100, EL AL 747-200 and the EL AL 747-400 many times. i will miss that aircraft a lot.
IDF I flew on a TWA 747-131 on my very first visit to Israel in 1984. Ben Gurion didn’t have jetways then, so you walked down the stairs. I turned around so someone could take a picture of me with the airplane in the background. It even had the serial number next to the door. I was recently digitizing those old slides, and I wondered what was the aircraft that blew up TWA 800? So I looked on Wiki, and of course that was the one. It made me feel so strange. But of course I flew on it many years before the tragedy.
Sam this is one of the most beautiful, funny, and of course professional video..... But is also little sad to see another 747 on his retirement flight....

I remember flying from JFK to Buenos Aires to visit my family every year on Aerolineas Argentina’s and recall always seeing EL Al 747 in a nearby gate, such emotional trips and so emotional thinking I will no longer see that 747. Thank you for this gift Sam!

El Al sure has taken care of the 747. What an amazing airline they are.

A380 can’t match the beauty of the 747 ,that hump , 4 engines , 12 exits and sheer size it’s a real beauty which the only thing the a380 beats the 747 is capacity , but the 747 has already had its place so A380, you’re no match for the queen
