Epic! Drawing a 747 on LAST EL AL 747 Flight

- EL AL is ending the service of their Boeing 747, after 48 years of operation. This video is part 2 of 2 featuring the final EL AL B747 Flight LY1747 from Rome to Tel Aviv on 3 November, 2019.
The 747 flight took a one-time flightpath to create the 747 shape commemorating El Al's final commercial 747 flight. The final flight flew low over the Mediterranean, south-west of Cyprus to fly and “draw” in the shape of 747 jumbo jet; a complex two-hour manoeuvre revealed in real-time by flight tracking apps such as FlightRadar24. Watch the video how the pilot drew the 747 in the sky before returning to Tel Aviv for an emotional farewell.

This video touched me on so MANY levels. The 747 was introduced the year I had my Bar Mitzvah (1970) and being the aviation nut I was (am), I was totally entranced by the whole thing. I remember making up story boards and doing a presentation in my 7th grade English class about the initial test flights of the 747 using pictures from Aviation News and Space Technology magazine. When the first one landed at Detroit Metro later that year, I begged my father to take me out to the airport to see it. In 1988, I traveled on a singles trip to Israel on a El Al 747-200, and even though I was smack dab in the middle of the interior seats, I enjoyed the flight immensely. When we landed in Tel Aviv, I got down on my hands and knees and kissed the tarmac. Later in that trip, I traveled back from London Gatwick to LAX to San Diego on a British Calendonian 747. I LOVE Isael and the 747 and I'm so sad to see it leave the skies. However, through your video, I was delighted to be able to "experience" what it was like to be on El Al Flight 1747, "drawing" a 747 in the sky, and landing back in our homeland at Ben Gurion Airport for the last time. FANTASTIC job Sam - you captured the spirit of the 747 and the people of Israel, all in one amazing video! As they say in Israel "Todah Rabah" (Thank You!) and Am Yisrael Chai (The Nation of Israel Lives!).

When I saw that on the news:
“I’m sure that no passenger was on that plane”
Sam: *HOLD MY CHAMPAGNE*
Lol, but there was... it's like a thing that people hope for if they go on a farewell flight...
what did they replace this airplane with the next day? 777? 787? 737-900???
@@zszs100 Your exactly correct. 777, 787 and 737-900ER along with the 737-800
Why it won’t fly again?
Naz Foudi probably because it’s out -dated. Flying it won’t earn the airline a lot of profit compared to the newer modern planes.
0:43 sam the type of guy saying welcome to the crew
😂😂😂😂
Maybe he was welcoming them to his vlog??
Kudos to the cockpit crew and flight crew. The Captain is very competent. What a great airline. Now I know what El Al is.
Sam has become the marketing and PR for the entire commercial industry, crazy world.
Good job 👍👍👍
As iam IRANIAN i have to say .. :
god bless and protect israeil❤❤❤
as usuall good job from sam👏👏👏🇮🇷🇮🇱🇮🇷🇮🇱🇮🇷🇮🇱🇮🇷
careful your government doesn't see this comment. You'll be accused of being a spy for Israel. 😆😆
But seriously it's so nice to see when human beings can just treat others like....human beings! We're all the exact same! We just have to look passed the shallow differences, and treat each other like we're all the same. Cause we are!!!
And back to you, from us, in Israel!!!!
Respect for being friendly no matter the country, nationality etc... That's a real human
שאלוהים ישמור אותך!
Drawing the iconic 747 in the air in a passenger jumbo aircraft is truly mind blowing…That’s Israel for you..truly innovative and no wonder why they call it the innovation hub of the world.
I just love how everyone is in a good mood, spreading fun and good vibes! Now imagine every flight would be like this. Just people being happy and good sports. The world would be such a happier place
I guess it would've been like this in the 50s-80s.
Man. The folks at El Al really know how to celebrate an airplane! Awesome work Sam. Congrats to El Al. Very nice.
as an aviation fan.from Israel, it was a real huge honor to see you on an israeli airline, even bigger honor on the last el al's 747 flight !
Sam, Thank you so much ! i love you ! god bless you !
Am I the only one crying at the end of this video? I am so happy for Sam and his wonderful experience on El Al's final 747 flight. It is so nice to see him receive the 'royal treatment'. Sam Chui is a genuine RUclips star. Thank you El Al. Thank you Sam!
Thanks Sam for your job to give us the opportunity to be the witness of this retirement flight of the queen of the sky THIS BOEING 747-400 EL AL....... Well done as ALWAYS
How can one plane designed all those years ago achieve so much to so many? The vision of the design team is one par with what the Wright Brothers achieved! A legend of the sky!

The 747-400 is one of those planes where I need to ride one of them before they go extinct
It was well designed. Boeing at its best in adversity

What a great vlog. I guess there’s going to be a few of these memorable vlogs as the ‘Queen’ retires. I hope I can be on one such a historic flight. Didn’t know much about El Al - what great service and such nice crew.
I didn't know much about EL AL before the flights either. They gave me some of the best time of my life. Long live the Queen!
Yea, good service if you are in Business or First. Horrible service in economy. The fact that they call themselves a premium airline is one of the best jokes I've ever heard!
ELAL use an anti missile system on there planes. They can drops flares from the back to mislead rockets, its an automatic system who detects heat. They are also working on a laser who will point the missile at lower altitude. Also, there is standard an armed guard on the plane, he is undercover so you will never see him. He will be sitting close to the highest security risk person. He is also in contact with the pilots to give them a sign if its really needed. From that moment they will dive the plane down to so the "terrorist" will be smashed to the back of the plane and hold him away from the cockpit. Hope I don't make ELAL security angry now🙏😂 ruclips.net/video/1Y1kJpHBn50/видео.html 07:35
Richard Hesk El Al is awesome 😁 I only fly with them.
@@SamChui EL AL is THE safest airline in the world...
Flying would never have been so beautiful without the 747. No plane will ever have the impact as the 747 has had
Because of the 747,it connects the globe, connects all of us,unite us,it never divides us, it doesn’t matter your colors or backgrounds, religions!👍👍👍
the crew is so friendly! thanks sam for sharing this with us!
that was great, Sam!!! Between parts 1 and 2, i really felt like i took part in this amazing event! I'm going to miss the queen of the skies. The greatest plane ever!!
The Boeing 747 is an airplane with real soul and character and has been such an inspiration to lots of kids the world over getting them inspiring their interest in aviation. No other airplane can match that.
Boeing 747 The Queen of the Skies will be remembered for generations to come as truly a groundbreaking achievement in aviation history! May you rest in peace beautiful queen!

Sam, my name is Scott and I’m from Canada. The level of sincere recognition that you have received is due to your sincere love of aviation, one which you have worked so hard to capture on film. I thank you. The world of aviation lovers thanks you. Such a pleasure to watch.

The fact that they keeped this exact plane in the tlv airport is just so cool
I really cried, seeing the queen of the skies going in retirement, I wish I could be where you were Sam, You had a lucky flight, Love your videos.
What a fantastiiiiiiiiic farewell. Love El Al. Thank you all, this video is history!
Love the music when they are on the approach into Tel Aviv
Wow... Incredible job making that Boeing 747 drawing and farewell to ELAL Boeing 747 💺✈😊
That footage of the actual drawing and the view outside, just beautiful. Her landing into the sunset classic. Thanks for both the videos.
Have been waiting since a long time for this second part
That was so, so, so frkin emotional. The crew and passengers were very nice and lovely, God bless El al 747-400. :)
Lovely Sam for expressing that 747 has carried people from all over the world. That it does not judge people based on their political, religious or cultural backgrounds and never will. It has nothing whatsover to do with anything. It is love and understanding. Best wishes Sam!
Reminds me that my first flight on a 747 was with El Al from LHR to Tel Aviv. When the plane entered Israeli airspace, they started to play joyful music and people started to clap.
At that time the Palestinians shed another tear
My first B747 flight was from Heathrow to JFK in ‘95 and people were allowed to smoke onboard ... :) huge memory that one.
It’s the same when you fly over Israeli airspace when you approach Jordan you have to keep your seatbelts buckled up due Israeli law. Weird because who is going to check this or fine you 🤪
@@arnodr5804 really? im an israeli and i didn't know that

Thank you for this amazing video! The 747 is my favorite plane. I always try to make sure my flights are on a 747. It will be terribly missed. ❤️ from Israel 🇮🇱
Sam, you are a legend! Mazal Tov!!!
What an awesome tribute to the much loved lady. Great job El Al.
I doubt there would be one person that has flown commercial aviation who doesn't have a special place in their hearts for the Queen.
The first time to see the 747 in Hong Kong Kai Tak airport when I was 13 year old, now , I am 56.

I’ve been waiting for this video a long time and all I can say to you is THANK YOU FOR MAKING THESE AMAZING VIDEOS!
Our fleet is still strong! We hope to see you again soon
Hey it’s you again -_-
Sam I cried all throughout your video. I hope they can reconfigure the 747 so it can indeed be cost effective. The 747 made a long trip enjoyable as it allowed you to walk the aisles during the flight and not be claustrophobic. This is what I'm going to miss.
What an honour to be on board. What a legacy to leave behind ❤🙏 that drawing will be an iconic memory
SO GREAT!!!!!!! SAM YOU ARE A WORLD AMBASSADOR!!!! YOU ARE AN AMAZING GUY!! :-)))
