Flying across BOLIVIA with BOLIVIANA DE AVIACIÓN (BOA)! 767 Business Class

- I took a trip across Bolivia with BoA (Boliviana de Aviación) to try out their little known Boeing 767 and Boeing 737-300, in both business class and economy class. My trip took me to Cochabamba, Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Viru Viru) and onwards to Buenos Aires.

The empty bottle of cologne was a nice touch. More airlines need to go the extra mile and offer such amenities.
It may not be a whole extra mile, but it’s at least an extra half mile or kilometre
Oh yes hate it when Airlines provide a full bottle of cologne
If I get given an empty cologne bottle I’ll probably assume it’s been used
Wow
LOL

Other business class passengers: this idiot behind me keeps chatting to himself the whole flight
He is also condensing. Like, watch this horrible south America airline, they have screaming babies. Not like UK, we are born from cabbage
@@rodU65 he must be a very condensed person
It was one offhand comment and apparently you’ve never been on a flight with screaming kids before. BTW did you notice that there weren’t that many passengers that close to him.
@@Veritas419 While I get kids scream, perhaps not taking them on a plane is a good idea until they're old enough.
@@gdparry2727 you are clearly not a dad. Besides, if you are on a public plane then deal with the fact that there may be screaming babies on board. You have not paid more than anyone else, you are not more special than anyone else.
Laughed too hard at “Boing” 😂
rossildosil Ryanair should rename there 737’s that
I was just shocked that an international business class flight attendant had to struggle to explain what "bacalao" (codfish) was in English and in the end had to say just "fish". Cod, being usually dried and salted, tastes rather different from most other fish, after all, and passengers should know what to expect.
@@goytabr well tbh its really rare to get english speaking passengers in an airline flying from Spain to Bolivia.
@@goytabr I was more shocked he didn't know what it was. Fair play to the flight attendant.
Oh yeah, I was wondering why he said "the way the plane bounces" or something when I saw the spelling. 😂🤣
I've come to terms with screaming babies on flights. I think to myself ... I've only got this for 10 hours...that poor parent has it for life. It makes me feel better.
You do realise babies don’t stay babies forever right......😂
In my experience, if the baby is crying due to being frightened. You just hold their hands to their chest and rock them.
Ah yes the famously immortal babies

2-1-2 buisness. Never seen that before. That lone middle seat looks rather odd.
used to be standard on Continental's 767-200's as well. The middle seats were quite popular with solo travelers.Qantas' 767-300's were 1-2-2 as well, and Piedmont also had 2-1-2 on their 767-200's when they first got them, so it wasn't uncommon. I think there were others as well who used similar configurations.
United 767-400 (and some of their 767-300s) are 2-1-2
I was in an airplane that was 2-1 in business. No middle seat
it is also on Icelandair 767
Kenya Airways 767 business class either had or still has that configuration. I saw it a couple of times and always felt happy I didn’t have to sit there.
I get annoyed when people listen to music/movies without headphones on the train. I can’t imagine how bad it must be to be stuck on a plane when people are doing that!
I HATE that guy on the train who always plays rap music and you can always hear the weird electric drums going ti-ti-ti-t-t-t-t-t-ttttt-t. It sucks.
Captain Speedbird1974 completely agree! I have no idea why some people think I want to listen to their terrible rap!
It’s fairly normal in Latin America...
Captain Speedbird1974 I Love The sound of the Electronic Drums of them tracks and songs
Dang I didn’t even know people did that
Not easy I bet, but as a backpacker I have to say that Bolivia is a such amazing country. It has a lot of problems, specially economic ones, but its people are just lovely and its nature is beautiful.

Loved this video Noel. Great to see new routes and countries and it sets you aside from the competition in my opinion. Love the sense of humour too 😊
I thoroughly enjoyed this!! I love how you fly exotic airlines a lot it’s really interesting and unique. I really enjoyed the video, thank you so much :D
Finally someone that takes time to do flights in Latin America. Very glad you go outside that Europe-US bubble most aviation youtubers live in sadly.

Invest in some earplugs Noel.
No matter how good the earplugs, no matter how powerful the noise cancellation, that fucking kid screaming its stupid head off will pierce right through it all, and nobody's getting any sleep.
What do you have against kids? They have a right to go places. I get it can be annoying but they can’t help it! This is coming from a kid as well

Hey there Bolivian here. I'm glad you had so much fun in my country 😂. Visit sometime I promise we're a fun country. Uncomfortable but fun.
Uk I'm sitting in my walker outside with a cig in one hand& a coffee in the other realizing that my early AM, even tho sick, has been made enjoyable by watching ur videos this entire time! THX 4 THESE VIDS! I can turn my worries & cares off for a bit & just relax & enjoy🫶 What's a widow 2 do Lol😊
Thank you for your kind words, glad you enjoy the videos. Wishing you better health soon.
I know what you mean about flying is escapism despite the troubles and strife 7 miles below. Same for me, whatever I'm dealing with at the time, whether it be my job or whatever seems pretty insignificant when you are up in the air. I try to get airborne as often as possible too and I love watching your trips, I find them really relaxing to watch. Nice to see a local lad doing something he loves. Bravo dude.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video Noel. Thanks for the great watch, stay safe!
Well done on the 100K, there's definitely a hint of inspiration from "Bald & Bankrupt" in your videos now Noel. Getting brave with your airlines and destinations. 15 seconds in Cochabamba would be enough for me too, Bald would probably be off to get drunk with a local!
Haha it's funny how when you spend a lot of time watching a channel you like, you start to pick up their traits! Love Mr Bald!
@@noelphilips Watch there be a collaboration video in the future xD
And look for Soviet llamas.
No problem for 100k your vids are definitely the best for reviewing flight's and I hope you carry on with this in the future 👍👍
Great job on this video Noel! Excellent video footage of the airports and inside cabins of Boliviana’s 737s and 767s.
Yes old yes very dated but I love the rawness of this airline . I have Bolivian neighbours and they really are a beautiful nation so this video always puts a smile on my face .Viva Bolivia 🇧🇴
Spot on!
Welcome to Buenos Aires!!! Thank you for your visit!!
This guy even past my own town on rail "dude gets around " safe travels 🙏 I appreciated this Boeing retro 767 it brought me back to the 80s 90s when I flew them with Delta United and SAS
Congrats on the 100k subs! You deserve it, your videos are always really interesting
if you have noticed - when you give flight altitude numbers you always have higher altitudes on the second half of the flight. On heavy, fully loaded longhaul flights, the plane simply does not have sufficient engine power to climb very high, and only after having burned off some tons of fuel can it climb further. It's calle step climb.
I've often wondered why my plane mysteriously climbs a couple of thousand feet in the middle of a long flight, and now I know! Thanks!
Congratulations for the 100,000 subscribers! Great TR as usual!
Not only your aircraft was an ex Alitalia, but it still didn't change the Business Class since 25 years! BoA just removed 3 rows in order to achieve a configuration of 10 pax from 25 pax.
I have always loved your deadpan delivery of humor Noel!🤣🤣🤣
Love you man, so entertaining.....crying baby before the taxi even started...your face...lol...keep up the good work. What sets you apart from others is that you are honest, you give your opinion, good or bad. Always be this way, makes it a unique experience to watch (and endure) 😀
I’d have loved to have flown on that old B767, my first ever flight was on a B767 in 1993!
PS, there’s much to be said for a comfortable and decent sounding set of noise cancelling headphones on a long/overnight flight, I have some Bang & Olufsen ones that I wouldn’t be without on a flight.
This kind of reminded me of the time I flew Air Niugini. They really do try so hard.
BTW, Bolivia is one of the most underrated and beautiful countries on earth. It's a photographers paradise. And physically La Paz is one of those breathtaking world cities not unlike Cape Town, Hong Kong, Sydney or Rio de Janeiro. La Paz can best be described as Rio in the sky or if you put a city inside the Grand Canyon.
Bolivia is simply amazing and has it's own uniqueness on show. Stay for a while and become acclimatized, it's inexpensive and the people are very friendly. By acclimatizing to the altitude you'll experience a much easier time in the stunning Andes.
Yes, I have been there
I've been to Bolivia and I enjoyed it. But that being said, acclimatisation isn't easy for everyone. I had altitude sickness for only 1 day, while my parents suffered altitude sickness for the entire 2 weeks we were at high altitude (even though we went no higher than 4150 metres, which was at El Alto), and they needed to be hospitalised.
Yeah I really love Bolivia!
LOL i think you are overrating bolivia
Very interesting trip report! Was fun to watch, thank you for taking us along
LOL I had to see the explanation for that thumbnail. Congrats on the 100K! :-D
Loved the storytelling and sense of adventure on this trip. Great comic timing too.. Boing aeroplanes bouncing on the runway and empty cologne bottles in the amenity kit 😂😂😂. Really admired the fact you were nervous but did it anyway. As someone with anxiety and who overthinks everything I love seeing how these trips turn out and how you just breeze through it all, not worrying about the obvious lack of security etc. Great fun and nice to see a little bit of the places you visit too. 👍
Thanks so much! One thing I've learned through doing this channel is that actually, people are people everywhere in the world, and ultimately you will always be OK as long as you don't take any unnecessary risks. Thanks for watching!
security is always hell for me as i need direct communication and told exactly what to do, if i feel under pressure or rushed i just shut down so my mum has to help me do it all, luckily i’ve had some nice security be patient nd help me
Man I’m so jealous of your fearless nature. Watching these videos has made my fear of flying at ease. Hoping I can practise this in real life. Love the work!
I'm trying this strategy too.
Always remember- the plane WANTS to fly.
I know it's irrational and nothing someone can say can help but just remember you're more likely to die on the way to the airport
It amazes me how calm he noel is, I'm terrified of flying but I always do get through it in the end
“Boing” I love it. Bouncing around when landing. :)
And this it the video that caught my eye!!!! well done, I loved your presentation :) Andy
Congratulations on 100k well deserved
That second 767 has seen a record number of operators.
Congrats on 100k! Well 114 now, amazing! Well deserved.

This is not just a review, it's more like a well made travel show 👍
Thanks! 😃
@@noelphilips you’re welcome!
Entertaining report! Brought back memories of scrum boarding on flights in Bolivia when there were no computer-generated boarding passes. Passengers massed at the gates and rushed for the aircraft. Very amusing at La Paz airport: altitude 13,000 feet. Everybody was gasping for breath by the time we got to the aircraft stairs. Congratulations on 100,000 subscribers!
Haha that's amazing, yes it was definitely like that! Didn't really notice the effects at CCB but I guess it's "only" 8500ft up. I'm in Nepal in January where it will be much higher - lets see how that goes!
One of the best tripreporters out there! This has got to be the funniest tripreport ever published on RUclips XD!
OMG, you're my fave!! This was hella entertaining!
Santa Cruz airport has a neat outdoor observation area, or at least it did when I was there for a long layover (on the way to Cochabamba, actually) back in 2017.
22:11 I haven't heard that computer sound in like 17 years
You are my new travel guru, well done and I'll keep watching your progress
Noel...
I must tell you, your first flight brought back memories...sorry really epic ones! You see I was the Area Manager for Alitalia in San Francisco 1998-2002 and we operated THAT aircraft from MXP-SFO nonstop...all 11.5 to 12.5 hours of it. The seats you sat in were the very ones we used on that route, although we had 30 of them and 174 seats in Economy.
When we had them, they were pretty much new out of the Boeing factory in Everett. Lie flat seats were just being introduced in 1996-97 by BA and others; AZ did not update until well after 2003. I flew on that very aircraft a number of times between SFO and MXP, without WiFi, without individual entertainment...but our flights did very well and it is only this next summer when AZ will start service again to SFO, this time from FCO.
Ah the memories...
I love the variation in airlines and destinations, unlike your standard first class emirates experience etc these prices are realistic to the working man/woman to one day have that feeling if business. Keep up the great videos buddy

Noel: that stupid kid won’t stop crying for hours
Nathan Thompson what?
Sorry it’s a typo
David Alexandrovitch it is. I don’t speak other language
I learnt french in 3rd grade, i think noel is Santa in french, the direct translation i think is father Christmas?
Edit: i was partly correct, Noel means Christmas in french but père Noël is 'father Christmas' This leads me to believe he's not referring to what i thought it was.
I had that one time, a screaming kid for over 4 hours. Even a flight attendant ask if the kid had stomach pain.,but the kid simply had not learn to take a no and had a tantrum for like 4 hours. (like 85 % of the fly time) I was not a happy person when my mother called to ask how the flight was lol .
congrats on 100k, well deserved!
Thanks for another amazing video - keep up the good work! It's nice to see the Boeing classic fleet being utilised! I'm not sure if you did a trip report on this, but I keep seeing the airline UTair on Flightradar 24 they seem like an interesting airline ;)
Fantastic as always, Noel!
I'd love to see you do a review of the RAF's once-weekly flight to the Falklands. Of all the great RUclips flight vloggers, you're the one who could pull this off.
Johannes Sæbøe oh yes that would be awesome!!
That would be epic
I only ever flew on the Voyagers to Cyprus. Quite a peasant experience with 38 inches of legroom, seats were fairly hard though. The food was pretty good, and you got plenty of it. No drinks except water, or orange squash.
I've done that flight, it's quite pleasant. We got stuck in Cabo Verde for about 7 hours though and were expressly forbidden from having a drink at the bar which was disappointing!
on your way back you can go to Punta Arenas in Patagonia ;)
Your best video to date Noel! Several laugh out louds! The crying kid, the sick bags and my favourite “boing” 😂. You do these things so we don’t have to I know! Congratulations 🥳 on 100k subscribers! 🎉🥂
Thank you so much! I really enjoyed making this video, and I'm hoping to make a lot more like this over the coming months!
Noel Philips: inflight Video can’t wait!! Safe travels X
Love the dry humour. I had my subtitles running as i was watching you land in the first part of the video. It said, "Engines roaring !" I think it should have said," baby screaming."
Oh dear. 😂
Cool. Many years ago I did a tour around Bolivia, and passed through both Cochabamba and Santa Cruz. At that time, the planes were all 20+ year-old 727s - but equally sketchy. Love to see that Cochabamba has a new terminal since I was there. And they finished the one in Santa Cruz. And the vast majority of Bolivian people are super friendly.
My Economy Flight with BoA was actually the most comfortable I ever had. It was much more better then AirEuropa or Iberia Economy. I always have this flight in good memories also because of the very friendly staff and nice neighbours in my row.
AFAIK this is the first BoA flight review on RUclips or Internet in general - not even Sam Chui has done it! You are a pioneer. CBB airport has 3.8km long runway - the problem is the 2500m high altitude. Try to visit La Paz one day and you will literally feel the high altitude of over 4000m.
One of your best videos yet. Highlights, the prominent sick bags, empty bottle of cologne, squeezing on the window ledge on the flight to Santa Cruz and forehead re hydration. Great viewing.
Just starting watching your channels, love your personality and your videos all around!
I must say that the seat belt was an unexpected bonus.🤣

The BoA flights looked about the same as Delta or United from Canada to a U.S. destination. The meal on the 767 looked actually pretty good. Better than the TV dinner I got on my last United flight to Newark ! The people looked friendly enough and as you said, in the airports you have no idea what may be going on outside.
