Dude, Qatar Airways is going to send you a shoe box full of tarantulas now 😂😂😂
😂
😂😂😂😂
😂😂🤣😆🫣
All brought to you by Sam Chui.
And they all came from Mars just like in David Bowie's album 🕷️🕸️ 😅
Nice! 40 Euros for an upgrade on an 11hrs flight is like winning a small lottery!!! The A330 business cabin looked nice too... ✈️✈️✈️
INSANE DEAL!
probably because he bought a Y class seat on economy
I once paid no upgrade was asked if I would like to fly on first class.
I had an economy class seat. :)
I didn't complain for hours and hours and hours of flight across the ocean. :))
The kind of content that I like from this channel, traveling not in mainstream airlines and destinations. Welcome to latin america josh, it's jaw dropping everywhere.
3:10 - Wait, you moved to Melbourne, Australia where you first started blogging about aviation. You know we have BIG huntsman spiders just casually chilling in people’s houses right? 😂
he was safe in the burbs
Which is why i will never visit Australia
I was about to also comment about the white tail spiders! We had a big one in the house the other week, biggest one I’ve seen. Glad we killed it before it to bite someone!
@@valuetraveler2026 on his Bonza review video, he showed where he stayed. Melbourne’s inner burbs is where you will see less of them but they are still around 🤣
@@RandomTrinidadian they’re harmless in reality. They chill in people’s houses as they eat all the actually harmful to humans things like mosquitoes, smaller, more poisonous spiders, flies and even rats, yep, rats. Look it up. Natural pest control.
Josh sorry, but it's ridiculous to say you don't like South America because of spiders when you live in Sri Lanka. It's not that different. South America is amazing, I personally love it. You are missing out for no reason
Bolivian subscriber here!🇧🇴
hope you enjoyed your stay:)
Josh: "I hate this breakfast. It's the worst ever." Flight attendant: "How is it?" Josh: "Oh it's GREAT! Thank you!" Love how he's always so polite no matter what ❤❤
He didn't say "I hate this breakfast" he just said it wasn't the best for him
@AlbertKoshi23 I know that! 😆 I was paraphrasing his thoughts because Josh is so polite wouldn't even say that to us! (he was even kind of nice with that crazy Aero Dili food poisoning! 🤢)
(Uncle Roger voice)
Vegetable taste like sad.
This also made me howl 😂

Even if it were a daylight flight, you wouldn't see much of the Amazon rainforest. The flight path from Spain to Bolivia overflies mostly the Southern Amazon, which is the part of it that has been most extensively cleared for soybean plantations and cattle ranches. Besides, don't forget the "rain" part before "forest". The Amazon is an extremely rainy region, and when overflying it, you're more likely to see just a vast sea of clouds. You have to both be very lucky with the weather and be overflying a more intact part of the Amazon to have a glimpse of the rainforest.
Now, associating South America with the Amazon rainforest is like associating Europe with the fjords of Norway (which ARE in Europe, after all, just as the Amazon is in South America). There is nothing in Europe but glaciers and fjords. Paris is a nice Norwegian village on the Seinefjord. Berlin is right at the foot of majestic snow-covered mountains. Rome has a very old stadium built by vikings to quarrel with each other when drunk with acquavit (the only thing all Europeans drink). Spain has a nice way of preparing herring (the only thing all Europeans eat) called the paella, which they serve in banquets called "el esmorgasbordo" in the Norwegian dialect that all Spaniards speak. And so on...
Your idea of South America is something like that. South America is a HUGE continent with an immense variety of landscapes, climates, and cultures. And Spanish is NOT the language of half of South Americans because Brazil has about half of the continent's population, and Brazilians speak Portuguese, not Spanish (not to mention the small population of the three Guianas that speak English, Dutch, or French, and the millions of people in Paraguay and in the Andean countries who speak various indigenous languages like Guaraní, Quechua, Aymara and several others, all alive and well). You were later in chilly Punta Arenas in far southern Chile, and you saw how that couldn't more different from the Amazon rainforest in all respects (in fact, Punta Arenas is in an area of subpolar climate very similar to northern Norway, complete with fjords and glaciers).
Even in Brazil, the country with the largest portion of the Amazon region, which in turn is almost half of the country's land area as well, the Amazon has less than 10% of the country's population of over 200 million people. Given the enormous distances in this immense country (larger than the "Lower 48" contiguous United States), the vast majority of Brazilians have never seen the Amazon rainforest and never will, and the Amazon is something almost as mysterious, exotic, and alien to most Brazilians' experiences as it is to Europeans. Asking the average Brazilian about the Amazon rainforest is like asking the average New Yorker about the Grand Canyon - it's in the same country, but thousands of miles away, and they've most likely never seen it.
And spiders??? Josh, you live in Sri Lanka, a tropical country, and have lived in Australia, which is partly tropical as well. ALL tropical countries have a large variety of spiders, big and small, dangerous or not, but that hasn't prevented you from living there. Why would you be afraid of an entire continent (much of it too cold and inhospitable for spiders) because of them?
South America is a HUGE continent, but only the fourth in size (after Asia, Africa and North America)

Nice to see that Bolivia's national carrier is using Airbus again. In the 90's I, as a KLM Ground Engineer, was stationed in Santa Cruz to assist Lloyd Aereo Boliviano with their A310 operation.
I flew to Santa Cruz in September 1999 from Miami on Lloyd Aereo Boliviano's A310. There were only a few passengers so we each had our own Attendant. Was a great flight. We also flew to Cochabamba on their 727, the one with square wheels and it was an experience. When returning to Miami we ended up flying on the 727 (Bolivia president was using the A310) and had to land in Panama for fuel. It still had the square wheels. By the way, the people of Santa Cruz were wonderful.
What was the relationship between KLM & Lloyd ?
@@vadimarsenie9182 Onsite technical support for LAB's A310 operation. Line maintenance in Santa Cruz, A-check's first in Miami later in Cochabamba en C-check's in Amsterdam.
Welcome to Latín America! Que disfrutes tu estadía en cualquier país que visites 😅. Greetings from San Salvador. ❤
Flew with them in 2018 and didn’t get treated this well but I am happy they are now more welcoming
There aint, im a bolivian they suck, every one on the country complains they rlly unorganized canceling fligths with out any notice lossing pet's or baggage. Making other bolivian airlines close coz they want the monopoly of the industry on the country. And the Nacional fligths are a rip of for 30 min.
@@juegaDavidBeckert Sounds like avianca to me :v
Guess he got the tourist treatment
Maybe they found out it is josh flying
Can't leave south america without visiting Brazil and Colombia, the two with the most distinct cultures. For an aviation adventure check out Santos Dumont airport, or Barreirinhas over the dunes with water
Yeah, Santos Dumont feels like flying onto an aircraft carrier, it's crazy! If you stand on the summit of the Sugar Loaf, you can actually look down on the aircraft doing finals.
A week after me asking why no one of the big aviation youtubers does south America and everyone seems to focus on Asia we get this. Amazing! Want to see more of South America, there seems to be interesting aviations and planes there.
That is absolute mental, 40 euros for a business class upgrade, fantastic deal, another great vlog, really enjoyed it, thanks Josh 👍✈️
Ex Virgin Australia fleet? Try getting an upgrade for €40 on Virgin Australia ... or Qantas ... for a 90 minute flight between Sydney and Melbourne!
I got a free upgrade to emergency exit row. Might not seem much. But this was a flight to perth the week after the WA border re-opened to the rest of the country in 2022 and the flight from brisbane to perth flight was $1000 in economy.
YAY! New video! Goodnight from Melbourne at 8:09pm!
Happy you had a wonderful flight. And I love how honest you are with the food review.
It’s like you said it’s in the little details especially when everything else is good and comfortable it’s those little things that will make you remember them when you’re ready to book another fare. Great review Josh!
Now this is what I call a proper flight review thank you Josh! and 40 Euros what a steal, also I was wandering were the virgin Australia a330 went thx:)
I've been toalmost all of the large countries in South America (lacking Boliva and Parguay). And. I've been in Ecuador for almost 10 years now.
One thing I really love is that while few people speak English, everyone is happy to work with you so that you can still communicate. Of course, my Spanish is now pretty good.
Latin America, in general, is very easy going, which means you will not have German efficiency, but you can really chill.
Hallelujah! You finally made it to South America…
Let tell you that i enjoyed your trip on Bolivian Airlines, the service at the business class was basic, but not disappointing, my point of view, as to the food, i think we must begin consider the culture and the sort of food served in the planes, airlines tend to serve most their own food and we can not say it is not good just because it is not something that we're used to eating, it is just something different.
Would love to see a review of Azul Airlines Brazil Josh! Love your vids! Really enjoyable!
I flew til La Paz from Buenos Aires on Bolivias old national airline LAB ( I think it was called) on a 727 back in 2006. Gute Reise:)
Hi Josh, being checking out your channel for sometime now. I really recommend you to come to Brazil and explore Brazilian carriers especially Azul (one for our big 3 airlines) and also have the experience to land in Santos Dumont airport here in my hometown Rio! Its an amazing experience for an av geek like yourself! Please come! Cheers and safe travels!
Great shout. Brazil is an amazing country.
Good to see you back
Must have been a thrill on your first flight to S America and then get upgraded that cheap !
Thank you, Josh, for overcoming your fears of spiders enough to go to South America . I knew you wouldn't let us down 👍🇨🇦
As a Bolivian myself.. I am glad your first South American destination was Bolivia I really hope you enjoyed it! As per BOA itself...as most monopolies around the world it is generally a load of crap I am glad your experience was acceptable !
Cheers Josh! Great work
I have no experience with BoA intercontinental fligths but when I am in Bolivia I really enjoy flighing with BoA and Amaszonas but I heard Amaszonas unfortunatelly isnt operating anymore. The bolivian airports are fast because of the short distances. At most airports the luggage arrived just when I got to the conveyor belt. And even with my 1,90m I had enough space for my knees in everey BoA plane.
When I worked for Eastern airlines some years ago, I flew into La Paz on a 727, then to Santa Cruz. One year later the same jet, same flight number crashed into the Illimani mountains approaching La Paz killing all onboard.
Now all flights from Miami go directly to Viru Viru Santa Cruz.
Loved my time in Bolivia
"You will be surprised at how much I paid to upgrade to business class" *adds the amount in caption*
Very interesting flight review! Living in the Caribbean I would love to see you travel and review more South American and Caribbean airlines. Keep it up Josh, love your videos!
Oh Josh! Thanks for finding one of my Ex VA 330-200's! Great Trip review as always!! Thanks Your Gem!!
Hey Josh it's nice that you paid 40 euros for an upgrade to business class. Also I'm happy that you got to travel to South America. Bolivia is a very beautiful country.
Oh how I miss Virgin Australia having those planes for the transcontinental runs to Perth. ‘The Business’ was the best domestic business class product in the world. Now we’re left with 737’s only… glad to see the aircraft found a home though!
ditto
Love how flat and pretty Madrid is. Reminds me of a small Los Angeles County.
Nice one again Josh, great deal on the upgrade. Spanish is a fun language to learn 🎉
Well, have you considered maybe flying Aerosucre ?
Aerosucre transports cargo. But I get you lol.
😂
Que vuele con ellos si quiere salir en las noticias
That would be his last video...😅😅😅
I'm really surprised that this is your first trip to South America. I haven't been to South America either but I don't have a massively successful RUclips channel with millions of subs earning me what must be a high seven-figure income a year so that I could travel literally anywhere on the planet.
I agree that the food fare didn't look that great for business class but you did say you were upgraded for free and for what you paid you got one of the great travel bargains. I would be ecstatic if I paid an economy fare to travel from Spain to Bolivia and ended up in business class in a lie-flat seat and three-course meals (even if they are not the best). The friendliness of the crew would make me look past any perceived shortcomings inflight.
Josh as with all your videos I wonder why don't you do videos exploring your destinations? Yes the "getting there" is always of interest but there is so much more to see at the destination.
The 40 euro upgrade on an 11hr flight is absolutely worth it he would have paid double for one way fare on mainline carriers to South America for the comfortable flat bed seat he got.
I have been to La Paz, Bolivia in the 1990s. Very interesting city with great restaurants and bars, My friends and I rented a car and we drove to Lake Titicaca. One place people should go see.
The only thing was the Altitude gave all of us massive headaches the first 2 days and it was hard to breath when walking even a block. We acclimated on the 3rd day.
I have read that the Glacier we saw there has all but melted away!!!
Done this a few times. TAP flight to New York £50 and a Lufthansa and austrian airlines flight 50 euros to Sarajevo business class upgrades. Not done at desk mind you. Just when you get an email asking you to make an offer.
Have flown with that Super Diamond business class seat many times. Very comfy. The AAirline I fly the most has them on their wide body aircraft. You know Josh if you’d eat the veggies/sauce along with the entree as presented it would probably taste better. 😂😂. We veggie lovers will never give up on you! Take care. Great vlog. 👍❤️
Veggies are best when prepared freshly with care, not overcooked and reheated from stale.
That's a good deal on the upgrade! On my upcoming transatlantic flight, SAS is asking or $480...and that's just to bid on it! Which I might not even get LOL!
To travel through South America, it is recommended that you know some Spanish, since ordinary people on the streets never speak it. Learning Spanish is very useful, since it is a global language.
The virgin australia A330 was known in australia as the worlds best domestic business class. These flights were mainly used on perth - melbourne and sydney flights.
You’ll be near Peru, stop by ir you can. You’ll be amazed! It’s great that you are coming to South America! I hope you have a wonderful time, you’ll love it. LATAM is the dominant airline in South America. Greetings from Peru
Im the opposite Josh - South America was after Europe, always top of my "to visit continent" Have been there twice covering 6 countries - love it and will be back!
Food looks like economy class quality.
I guess that's why it was only +40Euro
Yeah, it’s just plated differently.
I'd say it's more like Premium Economy, but yeah the plastic cutlery was a dissapointment.
Thanks for including the model number -200. I was going to ask that question, but found it in the description.
Nice finally a flight review of the new BoA Business Class. When I am in Bolivia I really enjoy flighing with BoA because the flights are cheap for european travellers and the airports are small so everything is really fast.
Once I was at the head quaters in Cochabamba and was allowed to enter and look at the retiered airplanes they use for replacement parts
just came back from Bolivia, all I can say is that it is a very lovely country. I flew of course some domestic flights, which will be featured pretty soon on my channel. And yes, the capital city of Bolivia is Sucre, La Paz is where the government is located...
Hey Josh! I highly recommend doing some of the super short haul flights on widerøe in norway! If you go in the north during summer you'll experience a 6 leg trip under the midnight sun, on small short runways. Its operated with the dash 8-100! I highly recommend it, it's lots of fun 😊
Please review Brazilian Airlines Next! Latam, Gol and Azul! Thank you!
Totally agree
You can easily pay more than €40 for just a public lounge pass! Outstanding work!
South America is an amazing place. Def explore it more.
When VA operated that aircraft from SYD LAX it was an excellent product overall
lovely flight thanks for sharing
Great video love it so much
A couple of days ago I flew economy on Emirates, MEL-SIN (777). I've never sat in a more uncomfortable economy class seat in my life, my back is still stiff and aching 2 days later. The seat back was horrific, l could feel the metal structure inside the seat. Later the same day we flew Jetstar Asia (a320) and half hour into the flight we looked at each and said this seat is such a welcome relief after the Emirates flight, better cushion, wider, taller seat back.
Great service
Excellent review of Bolivian Airlines (BoA) Business Class !!! 🟥🟨🟩
$40 for an upgrade? Wow! Nobody would decline it. Congrats!
Another great and honest review Josh! Keep it up
Great to see you in South America Josh.
Try Belize in South America on the mail Island. You will like that place.
I remember Noel Philips doing the same stretch... it was very funny!
As a retired airline employee I can tell you the story behind the €40 upgrade. Economy must have been in an oversold situation. Most US carriers will start with let's say a $150 upgrade regardless of flight time. And the price continues to drop as boarding approaches. When your seat turns into a bed, a free upgrade is the last thing an airline wants to do. They'd rather at least charge for the cost of supplies. When I was a flight attendant I worked many flights across the pond where classy people were surprised by how cheap the upgrade was. I've also worked international flights where trailer trash was upgraded for free because nobody wanted to pay $150 😞.
Josh - I'm an Ecuadorian- American from NYC and have been watching your channel for a bit. Your upgrade in this vid is an incredible find for sure! I was surprised that you haven't visited South America. I recently started traveling and visiting the Andean countries: Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia, and have incredible suggestions beyond the typical cities and towns. Feel free to connect if you ever need to chat with someone who is familiar with this region. It's amazing in so many ways!
If you're equatorian, of course you're american
Awesome ❤
When I think of Australia I think of heatwaves, beaches, spiders, sunburned people. What you thought about South America.
Safe travels. Cheers.
As a fellow arachnophobe it’s also what gives me pause about the bush in Australia but South America is huge and has mountains and deserts too! 🕷️🕸️
Josh, I like your analysis. Keep me up so that we know which airlines to avoid.
It's been awhile since Bald & Bankrupt visited Bolivia, so they should be ready for you by now. I wish you were visiting the Falkland Islands too on this trip.
Speaking of, where is he lately??? It's been like a month since we've seen or heard from him! I was just thinking this the other day 🤔
4:47 had me dying
4:47 LOL
Nice video Josh cahill Good video i like your videos
You should look into a flight between EZE and GRU; many different airlines outside to the regional airlines (SWISS, Air Canada, etc) does that route
Love the runaway suitcase 😂
Great video,
You need to try the Cubana de Aviacion to Madrid next.
Cheers
Cool - I would definitely look at flying them
@14:10 no altitude in Santa Cruz.
Nice ! I think it was your lucky day. I flew with them many years ago in their old 767 and it was not that great. The food was little and I think was just a few sandwiches, no entertainment system as the plane was quite retro (although I did love that, and it made me realise that indeed few decades ago, economy class was very roomy and comfortable compare to todays standards). Is nice to see they came a long way.
Enjoy your time in South America !. Don't worry about the giant spiders, I think is not common to see them in the city, but watch out for the mosquitoes though.
My wife is from Peru. We always asked for an upgrade to first class with LAN Airlines. Many times they just would upgrade us for free!
Glad you started flying to South America. A lot of countries and so many Airlines that you have to review. I hope you plan to go back soon.
Josh! Come down to Colombia. Beautiful country. Wonderful people. We will show you around Will surprise you and change your perspective of South America
If you ask for upgrade, do you pay the check in person or have to go to ticketing?
I do miss the Virgin Australia widebodied aircrafts. I have flown VA Business class on the A330 from Sydney to Perth and Sydney to Hong Kong several times. The best was their 777, which I travelled on several times between Sydney and LAX. It was by far the best J class on the Australia/USA Route; even when DL introduced their latest Business Class, I still think the 777 VA Business Class seat was superior. Plus, on the 777, there was a bar, which was an excellent way to pass away some time and chat with your fellow travellers, which you don’t do without a bar. Finally the old VA service on those aircrafts was so much better than any other airline on the same routes.
That jet bridge thing was funny😅
I love everything, Josh, including the music - Todd Rundgren, Hello it's me!
Hey Josh - 😀 I've been following your adventures with keen interest, especially your segments on navigating various international airports. Your insights have been incredibly helpful! I wanted to get your personal opinion on something that's been a bit of a challenge for me. Madrid's Terminal 4 has always been a bit of a maze in my experience, especially when departing. Finding lounges, getting through security, and making it to the gate without taking a wrong turn seems to be a puzzle I haven't quite solved yet. It's particularly tricky with the layout and signage, which doesn't seem very friendly to non-Spanish speakers. From your experience, do you find T4 to be as confusing? Do you have any tips or insights on how to navigate it more effectively? I'd love to hear your thoughts and any advice you might have. Thanks for all the great content and looking forward to your next adventure!
Hello from PTY....when are you going to come.over and make a review on COPA AIRLINES?
Welcome anytime ans happy landings
Try flying into El Dorado International, Bogota, Colombia, and you'll enjoy your stay!

Hello josh, please come to sabah, borneo, you need try maswings airlines, 😊😊❤
I recognized the guy who sat behind you; he was staring at you at the ticket counter at the beginning of this video😁😁
Out of curiosity, do you ever have issues with the GoPro media mod not recognising the mic??
You should go to visit Bagan,Myanmar. This place is the most amazing place in the world.
3:15 It is better to be cautious with spiders. I was bitten by a swarm of brown recluse spiders in Los Angeles and almost got a sepsis from this. But I am now fully recovered. Still working and exploring the world. I even did a trip back to the same region this year and was grateful to wander around Hilton LAX and the LAX airport.
Noel was not that happy with the BoA 767 back then, the AirCon was not working.
LH upgraded me last year for some 500 bucks on their old 747-400 business class to Toronto. 40 Euros are a bargain!
Nice to see my country getting visiting by avgeeks lately, for a while it was only Noel Phillips! lol
