In this day in the life of an airline pilot I’m taking you along as a long-haul Pilot giving you all the flight insight such as the landing in Tampa and the flight back, this video includes a really important topic for the Airline Industry which is ETOPS.
ETOPS( Extended twin engine operation performance standards) Originally was a certification that permitted twin engine aircraft to fly routes which may, at the time, be greater than 60 minutes flying time from the nearest airport that is suitable for an emergency landing.Nowadays ETOPS ranges up to 370 minutes that gives airliners the opportunity to basically cross every ocean there is.

Lovely video as always! There's a bit more to the ETOPs from the engineering side. Although a model such as an A350 can be certified for 3XX hours, the individual aircraft have to also meeting certain requirements such as stricter MEL, dispatch reliability, shorter maintenance intervals etc. From the pilot's perspectives, what are those requirements that you guys check during preflight and inflight?

Eine Frage hätte ich. Das Rollen am Boden obliegt beim Kapitän, man sieht aber immer wieder, dass du beim Rollen die Schubregler in der Hand hältst. Hat sich bzgl. dieser Regelung etwas verändert?
Bei uns in der Airline darf auch der FO und gewissen Vorraussetzungen rollen 🙌

Great video as always! Why on the arrival in tampa the callout said ‘plus hundred’ and on the arrival in Frankfurt it said ‘hundred above’? is there a difference or does it just depend on the aircraft?
That’s what I call attention to detail! The reason behind that is pretty simple, as you already wrote, it’s because of the two different airplane configurations. Have a good one 🙌✌️

also der hersteller baut dat gerät so zuverlässig das "non stop" fernab von flughäfen geflogen werden kann , aber tampa ist sehr weit wech von new-york da nehme ich entfernungs messen von google und frag mich warum nicht teneriffa /spanisches festland und frankreich nach fra eindrehen ?

I hope you’re well. I have really been appreciating your RUclips videos lately the editing has been PENG. Like in the “A PILOT’S ENEMY” video. I have a particular situation and would appreciate if your could give me some advice/tips. I am an American 19 year old level in Germany. I am currently in my second semester of an Electrical Engineering Bachelor degree at Hochschule Karlsruhe. I tried joining the European flight academy but couldn’t due not being Eu citizen or having a permanent residency card despite my mum being german. Now I was thinking of trying to go directly into a US flight school with good airline partners which could facilitate joining the airline cadetship or later as a first officer. Would you advise going into that now or completing my degree(2028) first? I also currently work as an SAP software developer intern and live at my mum’s house in Germany. So I am in quite stable situation. Your response would be greatly appreciated!

That’s a minimum separation crossing, we had 1000 feet between us ✌️
