Hi Kevin, thanks so much for this video and all your Teams content! I'm a college teacher, and for what it's worth, my own approach to classroom management is to set students to be attendees rather than presenters (a must I think). Also, I don't use a lobby (I start the meetings, so I'm always present), and I allow students to mute/unmute themselves so that they can more easily contribute comments/questions.

Many thanks Kevin. I’d installed insights but couldn’t get any student data displayed and know I know why! This will be a game changer, being able to see these metrics will enable us to see students who are not engaging with the material and put support in early. Thank you I’ll be chatting to admin on Monday.
I would recommend using the 'Policy Package' feature in Teams Admin for assigning students and staff their various policies. Microsoft have pre-configured policies for education that fit the bill nicely, or you can tweak where necessary. You might also be able to use powershell to apply a policy package to mass-users but that needs further research.

I do a lot of online compliance training and am working to build learning solutions with Teams/O365 and this app needs to be in mix! Kevin, Thanks for these very useful videos! As far as I know on PC, there's an option to share audio/video before clicking on screen share. Is it possible to share an audio or a video within IOS while sharing screen? Don't want to share audio/video as a file to have the full control over the listening. Thanks for your help!

Currently there is no option to do that for end users.

I tried this: all 1000 students added in one group, then assigned new policy to group in group policy assignment. Or else am i try in powershell

I regularly use Teams, but the majority of people I organize are not in our organization, or, their email addresses aren't. So, when I try to add them, I first have to add them as guests in the calendar for a scheduled time, only then I can add them to the "Manage Team" menu to actually allow them in the meeting. Why is this? Also, I usually have a large list of email addresses to add as guests, but find I have to add them one at a time, but again, I have to add them to the calendar first before I am allowed to add them to the Manage Team menu. It sure is a hassle. Any way around this?
One other thing. I don't have the "Menu Options" dropdown in the meeting scheduler. Why is that? I am an admin, so I should have it. Can I turn it on somewhere?
Hi Kevin.Another great and very clear video. I know that you don't work for MS anymore and hopefully with nearly 500k subs you are making adecent living. Do you know why despite numerous updates the iOS version of Teams is so feature poor compared to the Windows version? eg no fancy backgrounds and no real in call control features .
Hi I have a question. Is there any way you can add your favorite accounts to a Team. So that when you set up a Schedule, you can type @all, or some other easier way rather than typing each email every time? because now I have 30 students in my class and whenever I set up a meeting, I have to type 30 emails again.
Hey Kevin when I try to open teams admin center it shows an error.I also try sign with the same account which I use in teams it shows an error again.
When using the lobby feature, are you able to let people just join after the owners starts the team meet or do you have to keep going back in to admit all as they show up sporadically??

Insights is still buggy! I had a student attended a meeting, but she was not shown in the insights.
Hi Kevin, does MS Teams capable to keep the participants private? i.e. the participation is only seeing host screen and not able to see who are the other participants.
You could set it up as a Live Event (Kevin has a video on that too) instead of a meeting, if you only want “one-way” audio and video.

Hi Kevin! Can you make a video on how to manually install only the Microsoft apps you need? What I mean is that my college provides me with a Microsoft license that includes all apps: Word, Excel, Outlook, One Note, Access, Power Point, Publisher, Skype, Teams and so on, and when I install Office 365 all apps are installed automatically without asking, however what if I only need let say Word, Excel and Power Point?... Is there any way to install only those apps? Thank you in advance and greetings from El Salvador in Central America :)

Can you apply the policies to all students at once, and only students? I prefer not having to edit this for all 12.000 students nor would I like this to be applicable to meetings containing teachers or staff members.

Hi Kevin. When I set the meeting as myself being the only presenter and do not allow students to unmute them self, my students still appear as ‘ presenter’ and are able to communicate. What I am doing wrong? Please help. Thank you

If there are more than 100 students in one Team Class session, and all are muted, if someone click on raise hand to ask question, is it easily visible for teacher? Because there are more than 100 attendees and not all are visible on one screen.
You'll see a badge on the participant icon indicating that someone has a hand up. Also, when an attendee raises a hand, they move to the top of the participant list. That'll help you notice that someone has a hand raised. Cheers!

Check out 03:29 Manage student permissions... make sure all students are set to be attendees. Attendees can't remove other attendees.

Is Teams going to let us mass-assign students to channels, the way you can mass-assign people to Breakout Rooms in Zoom? It's too much work to assign students to channels by instructing them with typed instructions.

Why does MS make us do all of this in two steps? Why aren't these options available when we schedule the meeting? Why can't these be universal defaults in Teams for Ed? SMH at MS.....
This setting should be include in Team settings. No admin required.
Btw why cant a teacher unmute a student, some of student cant do it by them self.

I have picked up an enormous amount of useful stuff from Kevin's videos in the past in how to use Microsoft products, but when he tries to leverage a product like MS Teams, which at its heart is a bodge in the first place and the only reason that Microsoft are vomiting resources at it is because of the pandemic and promote it as an acceptable tool for teaching never has had to use it. I have had no option but to use it for the past 7 months and the only other Microsoft product that was as bad for its intended audience was Microsoft Bob. Even as a vc platform Zoom knocks it out of the water.

Tried Microsoft Teams for a week. Been an absolute nightmare. Not being able to connect/kicking out, not being able to go to assignments etc. I am a very disappointed customer!
