Pretty nice spec! It's wise to look for long-wheelbase models over the SWBs - they have more stuff as standard - electric seats in the rear and also the rear electric blind for example.
One thing to look out for is the abc fluid if it has an abc air hydraulic suspension. Theres a small dipstick that you can pull out somewhere next to the motor. You just wipe it an if its green the abc fluid has been changed recently and if its brown/black then you should definitely avoid the car because theres basically dirt in all the abc pumps which causes damage and costs a fortune to fix..
Nice to see a W221 video with relevant useful information for your typical used car buyer. What’s the name of the leather dash and Alcantara roof lining option? as you say it’s standard on the S600. Also does this model year have an Aux socket or BT for phone music?
Thank you Dominica, the aux is in the glove box on face-lift cars only, this car doesn't have it as its pre-facelift - in the UK that would be some 59 plates but mainly 2010 onwards have it in the glove box. The leather is called premium leather not the designo as that is premium but patterned in strips like merino, this is just double stitched premium leather on everything The roof lining, can only find it says alcantara roof lining as the option I know in other models like the E and C it comes under something called the luxury pack (P34) and does the same to the headliner, pillars, edge of back seats and on those models bits on the steering wheel too. It does have space inside for sim card adapters as the handle in the middle flips up to reveal a phone, it also does have bluetooth
get it you wont regret it, i think a high mileage car means you will make full use of it without worrying about the resale value it will always be worth £3k atleast
@@vpowervpower-sm5sp do you reckon it’s worth £3k with that mileage? It’s not the long wheel base one either. I’ve always wanted this car but feels like a steal at this price but risky mileage. How long do you reckon this car would last me? It also just passed an MOT.
Thank you for the guide! Excellent. BTW guys, is it true, that they stopped using double-paned windows on facelifted models? Seems like a bad decision tbh. Thanks and take care!
yes its true, they changed supplier however on the s600 it was an option, they are definitely cost cutting, it is optional on even the new s classes and this shape too but on the w140 it was standard fit!
PCV valve, oil cooler seal (below the turbo), swirl flaps failing, DPF clogged damaging the engine, radio software will have quirks not coming on (restart after 30s solves it) for the rest....... a very good car but expensive if anything of the above brakes down........

@@vpowervpower-sm5sp Thanks a lot. Really great explanation. I’m finishing my video business. As soon as everything will be sold then I’m going for this car. Thanks

Very informative. Thanks.
3:20 there’s not going to be any rust because fenders and trunk are made of aluminum

cheers Antony, i think it has to be the best value s class going at the moment
Pretty nice spec!

i agree, definitely more value for money as they tend to be highly spec'd

My 2012 had cooled and massage seats
Superb Car
i agree, and huge value for money right now
Nice video!
Of Course LWB for comfort and rear leg room.
If not then I would consider a E-Class instead.
...oil cooler seals on OM642.....
You have convinced me, dont touch this car !
lol!
I’ve seen one that has 180k mileage but it’s in pristine condition. They want £3000 for it. It has 12 months MOT. Never failed an MOT either.
Am I being an idiot or shall I get it and maintain the car as it’s beautiful and I always wanted this shape

what do you mean by the radio not coming on and restarting as mine randomly shuts off
Front wheel arches are not metal !! Stick magnet to check 🧲 Only roof and rear wheel arches are metal in this car.
They are aluminium
they are metal mate
what about the oil cooler sealing? which is a pain to fix on all models that have the V6 diesel hmm??
lets have a look at your video explaining that then...

Thx for video! How much for this car?
hi JTR the average is about £7k with average mileage but this one will be more as mileage is super low!
